I'm still a patient here because of the particular services they provide but the customer service seems to depend on who referred you to their practice. You have to clarify for them who referred you before they will give you any information, even as an existing patient. Protocols for amalgam removal preparation range from "there aren't any" to only a protocol for the days leading up to the procedure, or only a protocol for after the procedure, depending on who answers the phone. They don't follow through with return calls or follow up.

We came here for a second opinion because we were not confident in a previous recommendation. Dr. Yang took the time to inform, explain and educate us on the best options. She put us at ease knowing we had a plan for care and treatment. Thank you Dr. Yang for listening to our concerns.

Dr. Karl is truly amazing! He has a vast array of skills one of which spared me from many more years of chronic sinus infections. He found out my roots to my wisdom teeth had been left for years causing toxins. Thanks to Dr. Karl I can breathe and smell again!

Got me in quickly and took care of my issue without a problem. I've been going to this dentist's office for 30 plus years and they've always done well by me.

There are dentists who focus on cavities and other mechanical issues related to teeth. They have their place in the world; for decades, every 6 months I saw a dentist like that. Then I had an issue that was beyond them. That brought me to Sedation and Implant Dentistry. Dr. Anderson's view of oral health goes beyond cavities and cleanings. Let me get to to the point.

After a thorough examination Dr. Anderson pulled a tooth with a mercury filling. The mercury was ultimately responsible for more than just the discomfort I was feeling. Since the tooth was pulled (I was fitted with a 'flapper' to get me by) my discomfort is gone AND I don't get up at night four times to relieve myself. Other things work better as well. Dr. Anderson can explain it when you see him, I'm just living the results of his talent. Without insurance, dental work is expensive. Might as well get your money's worth, be happy and healthy. If you have insurance, all the better.

Amazing dentist office! I always feel like I am treated as a friend rather than simply as a customer, no matter who I interact with in their office. They are also very knowledgeable and will help you understand how you can achieve improved oral health naturally, without chemicals or pointless procedures. I don't usually pick favorites, but La is the best!

I hate dental visits, but Dr. Anderson is by far, the least painless and best I've ever been to. I'll be recommending him to everyone.

My dental hygienist is the best one I have ever had in my 61 years. She is gentle yet effective. I could take a nap during the visit if I didn't have to open and close my mouth. That is how gentle she is! And my teeth have never been this clean!

Sedation and Implant Dentistry is fantastic at what they do. Doctor Karl A. Anderson is an expert. In the past, I have come across doctors and dentists with the best bedside manner a patient would hope to receive from a Caregiver. Nevertheless, they suck as far as knowledge concerning the healing process of the human body. My first experience with Doctor Anderson came via referral. (My Dentist Holly Thompson of Natural Smiles Dentistry, told me he was the best.

That's what other dentists think of Doctor Anderson, the BEST!) At my first appointment, Doctor Anderson explained my x-ray in detail, educated me in the ROOT CAUSE of my issues, and explain the actions necessary to rid me of the deadly effects of past TOOTH MECHANICS with "excellent bedside manners." Somewhere in our conversation, I shared I was born in Liberia, West Africa.

That is when I learned a little bit more about this great Doctor. Dr. Anderson does extraordinary work overseas. I saw beautiful pictures of foreign people and the lands he visited. It never came across as bragging, just purely a joy to have had those experiences. He sent me home with a book and told me the chapter I would find my tooth problem and solution. Well, I waited till today, three months after our initial visit, to write a review.

My entire left cheek is bloated. I feel like I am due for that medicine Ms. Brenda said was all-natural pretty soon. However, l, Sandra Bennett, (maiden name Ticker) wanted to say, Doctor / Dentist Karl A. Anderson and staff are the BEST! The extensive work needed on both sides of my jaw required multiple visits. I did my first surgery, and l healed up wonderful.

I now feel qualified to say the following. If you desire an overqualified, biologically based, honest doctor/dentist with high expectations and a fantastic staff that understands the needs of patients, Sedation and Implant Dentistry's Dr. Anderson is that. This place respects what they do and the people they serve.

Dr. Yang is very thorough, professional and gentle. Her delicate hands are much appreciated and matches her bedside manner. I'm SOOO glad I found this dentist office. I've had a lot of dental work done throughout my life and the experience I've had at Sedation Implant Dental has by far been the best!

I have gone to this dentist for the past few years and was very happy with it. until today. I usually see Dr. Russ who is wonderful and I have zero complaints about him. That said. I will not go back after how poorly I was treated by Dr. Anderson today. I first saw Dr. Anderson last week because I had a crown that was bothering me. He made it clear he felt my tooth should be pulled because the tooth had a root canal and he is very opposed to root canals.

He feels the infection in a root canal never goes away. I understood and appreciate his viewpoints as a naturopath, but there was no visible infection on the X-ray and my tooth only hurt when chewing. He also never checked my bite the first time I came in. After leaving the appointment and consulting with a friend and family member who both work in the dental field, they said he should have checked my bite and that it is not unusual for a bite on a crown to need adjusting.

I then called and made a second appointment stating Dr. Anderson never checked my bite and I wanted it checked. He was rude when I arrived and made it clear adjusting the bite would not remove the need for an extraction. He said "you'll just be back in a week wanting it adjusted again" and "you need to make up your mind about what you want." I told him I wanted my bite checked and he did so - begrudgingly. Lo and behold, my bite was off and my tooth feels a TON better now.

While I FULLY understand his perspective, I am not willing to have a tooth with no infection pulled. I also don't appreciate that I had to make a second appointment to have the bite checked when that should have been done the first time. What is most upsetting is how rudely I was treated by Dr. Anderson today. He was condescending and shaming. I felt like he was just trying to make money off of me. I will be finding a new dentist moving forward especially since Dr. Russ is retiring soon.

First, Dr. Russ Hagen is absolutely wonderful. He is personable, professional, and does an excellent job every time I have visited him. Unfortunately, the clinic has done a very poor job of enforcing face masks. During my last visit, the receptionist was not wearing a mask. Worst of all, a doctor was walking around the hallway without a mask on. This really deteriorates ones sense of safety when sitting in an enclosed office space with an open mouth for an extended period of time.

With the amount of foot traffic these small areas get, it is very likely that patients are exposed to COVID-19 in this place. Disappointing, because medical professionals should know better.

My daughter and I have been patients for 10 plus years and had been happy with service provided that was in our network. The office discontinued participation in our network earlier this year, and they did not provide notice of this change at time of scheduling or at appointments that they were no longer in our network and that we would have greater financial responsibility. I feel they should have let us know this prior to incurring additional service costs. Because of this, I would recommend that people treat elsewhere.

I'm a 70 year old African American man. My wife and I have been clients to Sedation Implants since 2000. Dr. Anderson didn't see me on my recent appointment; they said he had to leave, so they sent another dentist who couldn't do much, because she said she didn't do the original work and asked me to reschedule a visit with Dr, . Anderson for a follow up.

I feel I am no longer valued as a client after I commented to the receptionist that I had concern about the Dr. not wearing a mask during my last visit where I fought symptoms of a cold for two weeks after my previous visit. My concern is, because I am a stage 3B metastatic cancer survivor who had surgery, 8 sessions of chemotherapy and 45 sessions of radiation, and two and a half years of after effects.

I also have chronic bronchitis every time I get a cold. Additional concerns is that I have lost a half brother, two first cousins and a brother-in-law to COVID-19 this year. Sometimes things don't impact you until you are personally affected by them. We have a malevolent leader who has politicized the wearing of mask to unselfishly protect each other during this pandemic; I don't think that we will go back to normalcy for a long time with so many people divided on this issue and the belief in conspiracy theories like those from QAnon. Dr. Anderson might feel that I am a mask Nazi and I can understand why he does might not wonder want me as a client; most of the receptionist staff do not wear mask. I respect Dr. Anderson's service and knowledge through the years.

I lived in the Twin Cities for many years. In 2013, I moved to South Dakota, and this is how good Dr. Anderson is: I would take the Jefferson Lines bus from South Dakota to St. Paul and back just to be seen at Dr. Anderson's dental clinic. I now live in Oregon, and traveling that far isn't really feasible, unless I were to win the lottery.

I can't seem to find an ethical dentist here. Bottom line is, I recommend Sedation & Implant Dentistry. If I still lived anywhere near St. Paul, I would continue my dental care there.

My wife went to a consultation appointment with Dr. Anderson and I went in and sat with her (she panics at the dentist). During the entire appointment Dr. Anderson would only talk to me, he wouldn't even look at my wife. When she went in for her first procedural appointment, Dr. Anderson didn't say a word to her, not 'hello' or anything.

My wife tried to raise some of her concerns, but was quickly brushed aside. Then Dr. Anderson tried to start the procedure before her sedation kicked in. The whole reason we went to this clinic was because of the sedation. My wife panicked, and pushed the needle he was holding away from her face (you would think a sedation dentist would realize that holding a needle right by the eye of a person who is not sedated yet and has repeatedly told you of her panic attacks at the dentist is a bad idea). Dr. Anderson just said "get her out of here, I'm not doing this today".

Even then, he still wouldn't say a word to her. Dr. Anderson is a sexist bully with a horrible bedside manner. If there is ANY other dentist you could go to, go. Avoid this clinic if you can. I wish I could give negative stars.

This clinic uses a holistic approach to dentistry, which I really preferred. No mercury in fillings. I had a root canal removed. Then I had an implant done for front tooth. Dr. Anderson did a great job and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. The only bad part was having my front tooth removed. The rest of the procedure was fairly simple with no problems or complications.

When they put the implant in my jaw bone, I did not really need to take much medication because I noticed only some mild, temporary pain. I am really pleased. This was much better than having a bridge put in. I also liked the helpful, supportive staff.

I have been going to this clinic for over 10 years. I have always thought that Senior Dr. Anderson and Dr. Barry were great. I appreciate that they take more of a holistic approach to dental health. Recently I had a rather negative experience due to a temp dental assistant who literally had no idea what she was doing other than the cleaning part itself.

My appointment was at least 20 minutes late to begin and then because she didn't understand the computer system or where any supplies were located a simple cleaning ended up taking forever. I was frustrated after dealing with her so by the time the dentist came in I felt like everything was rushed and I didn't even have a clue what my dental Plan was. Not sure if I will continue to go here as it seems like things might be taking a negative turn. Could have been a 1 off fluke but I am hoping it gets better if I stay.

As a dentophobe who had avoided the dentist for many years, I was terrified to see a dentist when I knew I absolutely had to. Everyone I interacted with on staff at Sedation & Implant Dentistry was so wonderful, accommodating, non judgmental and genuinely kind. The receptionist who took my initial hysterical call recommended a hygienist based on my fears and preferences. La, my hygienist was so calm, patient, supportive and gentle.

She was incredible at communicating and checking in with me throughout the visit, letting me know what she was doing and making sure I was as comfortable as possible. She smiled and chatted with me as she scraped years and years of gross grime off my teeth. Dr. Peterson was lovely as well, though I admit that I adore anyone who can casually throw a pun in and is dedicated to holistic medicine.

He chatted with me about my snoring, sleep habits and preventative care, which was so refreshing and appreciated. All in all, I couldn't have imagined a better experience at the dentist and would recommend La, Dr. Peterson & Sedation & Impact Dentistry to anyone seeking a new dentist. I will be back in 6 months. Fear free.

I recently moved here from Chicago where I was seeing a mercury-free holistic dentist. She recommended this place. I was glad to see this was close to where I live and decided to give it a shot after reading good reviews on Google+. When I arrived, I had no trouble with parking because they have a lot in front. The outside of the building isn't very impressive, but the clinic itself is modern and lovely.

My hygienist (I think her name was Lao? Ahh sorry about the spelling!) and she was sweet and gentle on my teeth. I saw Dr. Anderson and he was great. My appointment was relatively quick because I had no cavities (whoohoo) or other issues. I didn't even have to wait for them to make me a mouthguard on the spot (mine was old and a new one had to be made).

I was also glad they took my insurance! Finally, I walked out with some MI-paste (to help strengthen enamel because I have a few areas of receding gumline) and this amazing gum and tooth tonic (highly recommended!). I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for great holistic dentistry.

Despite moving away from the twin cities, I make a point to go to this dentist for a cleaning and check-up every time I go home for a visit. I've tried other hygienists and nobody is as thorough and gentle as Dr. Russ. And, Dr. Karl is knowledgeable and genuinely concerned about my overall health, not just my teeth and gums.

I am shocked at the lack of professionalism I was met with at this office. Dr. Anderson is a competent dentist, but my service experience was FAR from superior. I asked for a treatment plan TWICE but never received one. I didn't find out the cost of services or even how many fillings had been completed until 2 MONTHS after my last appt when I finally received my final invoice and still had to call for an itemized list of services.

When I complained to Dr. Anderson, I was met with indifference. He just asked, "What is it you WANT?" He offered to remove 1 disputed fee (of 2) and put me through to the front to pay my bill without any interest in hearing my full complaint. The woman I then spoke to accused me of trying to get out of paying my bill when I asked if I could make 2 payments (half today and rest in 30 days).

She said, "You knew exactly what your charges were and now you're saying you don't have the money!" When I told the manager I was disappointed by how I was treated (and paid my outstanding balance in FULL), she said " I'm surprised the [fee in dispute] was never mentioned in any of the conversations I've had with [them]." That it was MY responsibility to find out what my charges would've been (even though I had asked them TWICE).

I did not receive a single "I'm sorry this happened" or "Next time, we'll." from Dr. Anderson or the office manager. She and Dr. Anderson also made a point in explaining they were gracious enough to accept my discount plan, even though they don't normally accept that coverage. They had told me they would not accept my plan when I first made an appt. But, when I later said I would have to complete my work with a different dentist they told me, that because I was an existing patient they would now accept my plan.

They just don't accept it for NEW patients. I had only been a patient for about 2 weeks at that point. At the time I felt this was unprofessional and a little suspicious, but was grateful I wouldn't have to seek another dentist. I didn't realize they were "going out of their way" for me. While I understand they probably get illegitimate complaints about billing on a regular basis, I never once complained about the payments I made while in-office, nor was complaining about the cost of the work I had done.

I was only complaining about the extra fee (x2, which was not previously disclosed) and that I was completely left in the dark about how much my treatment would cost in the end. I've looked at their other negative reviews (on other sites) and while they are few, they seem to relate to disputes.

I'm a former patient there, I loved the staff, super friendly and fun! I had extensive work done, mostly crowns ect. No implants, but! The crowns that were put on by an associate of dr Anderson's, always left a ride of old tooth showing, I even would get floss caught on it! I'd say something on my next visit and they always said " we'll keep an eye on it"! Well, now I've had FOUR CROWNS that cost over 5000 replaced!

And it's no cheaper now! And all the cerek or what ever crowns have had to be replaced as well. Just a heads up! If you get a crown, you shouldn't have exposed tooth below! No matter what inconvience it is to THEM! That's what it seemed like! Btw, my wife has also had a crown replaced that was done there, because of a bad fit! They do love the gas though! I miss that!

We don't have a holistic dentist in Rochester, MN but an hour drive to get rid of my mercury amalgam fillings under the care of someone who truly understands the impact of toxic materials is worth my time and money. There aren't that many dentists in the State of MN that are holistic, maybe 8, and the reason I chose Dr. Karl Anderson is because he is a member of the IAOMT, his website is easy to navigate, he has equipment to preserve as much tooth as possible and to protect patient and staff of mercury vapors, his prices are reasonable, he has a Masters in gum disease, and he's attuned to nutritional health. Thumbs up!

I have been going to this dental office since 1972. I have never recieved better car anywhere. I went to David and now to Karl. They and their staff are wonderful and take care of all of my teeth problems including implants. Thank you!
