Good old-fashioned care in a modern setting - that's what makes Dr. Maurer and Dr. Olen's office unique. We use the latest technology and equipment, but with the same personal, one-on-one style established at our office when it all started so long ago. We are the longest-operating Pediatric and Orthodontic office in the area, having served El Cajon and the surrounding communities since 1975. We are proud to say that we're Number "1" and for the last 10 consecutive years we've been voted "Top Pediatric Dentists" in San Diego.

Our Doctors are specialists and our team is specifically trained to take care of all children from the young & healthy to those with special needs and severe anxiety. At Dr. Maurer and Dr. Olen's we truly enjoy who we are, what we do, where we work and whom we work with. We strive to provide the highest quality of care in a fun and comfortable environment.
It's never too early to get your child started on the path toward a lifetime of good oral health, and there are many services we provide to do exactly that. Monitoring your child's dental growth and development, and preventing and intercepting dental diseases along the way, is a primary focus of our practice.
It includes descriptions of our office location, including a map and directions, hours, appointment scheduling, insurance acceptance and billing policies. Our office is conveniently located on Broadway between Ballantyne (Avocado) and Mollison in the Broadway Village Shopping Center. We serve all of Southern California including San Diego County, San Diego East County, Santee, Lakeside, Alpine, La Mesa, Spring Valley, El Cajon and Ramona, California.We accept most traditional insurance plans, contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan.
The El Cajon children's dentist, Dr. "Mike, " grew up in Orange County California, where he attended the University of California at Irvine and received a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from UCLA. From there Dr. Maurer pursued speciality training in pediatric dentistry at the Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. While in Oregon, Dr. Maurer also completed a residency program at Oregon Child Development and Rehabilitation Center for children with disabilities.

I do not have dental insurance for my child. This was my son's first dentist visit at age 4. They were good at getting him to like the dentist and I like how I was able to watch and sit near my son to experience his first dentist visit. Round estimate for cleaning i think included floss and I believe xrays and exam=$100 My second visit for exam and xrays =$70

We love this team of doctors and their staff, so much so that it's multi-generational now. As a kid, I didn't dread going to the dentist anymore once we switched to this office. Now my kids go to Dr. Olen & Dr. Mauer. They anticipate their appointments with excitement and are happy campers. Quite a magical equation!

My kids have been coming to Dr. Olen & Dr. Maurer for many many years. Everyone from the moment you walk in the door is warm, inviting and helpful. Both Dr. Olen & Maurer are knowledgeable, timely and best of all take amazing care of their patients! They are well worth the 120+ miles I drive round trip so my kids can see them!

My first visit to Dr. Olen's office was in 1984 and I have the picture to prove it! As a child, I was very fearful of dental work, but Dr. Olen's staff always work hard to make me as comfortable as possible. When I had children of my own, there was no doubt I would take them to my favorite childhood dentist. Even when we lived in Hawai'i and Los Angeles, my husband and I would plan dental appointments around holiday trips to San Diego because the office is JUST that good. 33 years and seven children later, we are all still devoted to Dr. Olen and his incredible staff!
They are so kind, gentle, and fun. Some of the employees have been there since my own childhood and that says a lot about the culture they've created there. We can't say enough good about Dr. Olen and his wonderful office!

Great experience every visit. The office staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. We are always seen on time for every appointment and both Dr Olen and Maurer are excellent with checkups and explaining what to expect for future teeth growth and development. We have been coming here for the past 8 years and have always had a positive experience.

Dr Olen was mine and my siblings dentist when I was a child. I always looked forward to going to the dentist. Now as a mom I now enjoy seeing my children have the same excitement when they get to go to the dentist as well. It's always a positive experience for them. Dr Olen and his staff are always patient and caring. The kids enjoy playing games while they wait too. I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on my children's teeth other than him and his staff.
