Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.
For more information concerning pediatric dentistry, please visit the website for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
Some children are given nitrous oxide/oxygen - or what you may know as laughing gas - to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child's nose, allowing them to relax without putting them to sleep.

This place is the most miss managed place there is conform an appointment the day before and we get there and they cant see our son because he turned 18 13days before, we had to borrow the money for fuel to drive 75 miles to this place and take him out of school a whole day which put an autistic kid behind in school if I was you find a better dentist with office staff that can handle some simple record keeping like the date of birth of your child who knows what other info they cant seem to get right better have your insurance company audit there records on this place it wasnt rocket science to send a text email or a phone call but they did the phone call confirming the appointment so you draw you own conclusions dentist maybe great but his support staff they should look to Walmart to find jobs they can handle. I would have given no stars but the system is smarter than his office staff

My son has been a patient of Dr. Joe's for 6 years. He and I both had great experiences going to Children's Dentistry, until our last visit. The receptionists were very rude, lacking interpersonal skills. Making it a very uncomfortable experience. My son reported that Dr. Joe was great, but the hygienist was rude to him. My son has been proud of how he has been taking care of his teeth as he knows it helps to prevent cavities.
The same hygienist, discussed his visit with my son and myself, basically saying that his teeth are horrible. I tried to explain our routine at home, she rudely cut me off, with saying "Maybe you need to start brushing his teeth then" I wished she would have just pulled me aside, and discussed his visit. I will cancel his next cleaning and will be going to another pediatric dentistry.

I was so impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff. They each made my three year old comfortable and at ease for his first visit. Both the dental hygienist and Dr. Joe explained everything they were going to do, and each tool they were using to my son, and made sure any questions we had as parents were answered and understood.

My kids have two different temperaments: my oldest is agreeable, but my youngest is more feisty. This office knows how to deal with both! My son enjoyed every second of his visit and my daughter eventually felt like a little princess. I'm so glad we found a wonderful place to proactively take care of my children's dental health!
