Dr. Matthew Vertin, a Detroit native, completed his undergraduate training at Michigan State University. Subsequently he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1989. He completed a one year General Practice Residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Vertin is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dental Implants have been used successfully for many years. The implant itself is a post that is surgically placed in the jaw. A prosthesis (artificial tooth or teeth) is then attached to the post. Dental implants involve cooperation between a specialist and our office. The surgical phase of treatment is completed by the specialist, and the restorative phase is completed at our office.
Although the frequent subject of humor, in many cases, snoring is no laughing matter! Not only does snoring disrupt the sleep cycles of other family members, but in the case of sleep apnea, snoring can be a sign of a dangerous health problem. Sleep apnea actually cuts off the flow of oxygen to the brain, and in severe cases can cause serious damage.

Teeth Whitening is actually a mild bleaching process that restores stained or discolored teeth to a healthy, natural color. Don't be misled by unproven and ineffective over-the-counter whitening solutions. Our office uses an advanced procedure that is only available from your dentist. Accidents - If a tooth has been traumatized, sometimes the nerve will gradually "die, " and the tooth becomes dark.

Was referred and am very pleased with everything. The office sits on Telegraph, but google directions because there's no entrance off of Telegraph. The entrance is off a side street. There is no right turn between 4p and 6p. When u go into the building, go up the stairs. You will b greeted with the beautiful smiles of the front desk staff. The office is immaculate.
The assistants and the hygienist all complement Dr Vertin. I had an appointment for x-rays and 1st time visit. They had a cancelation for later that day, so I was able to get my cleaning done 4 months early.Excellent customer service. I recently went for my fillings and this went smoothly as well. They use the latest technology so you are able to see ur x-rays while you are in the chair. Love, love, love my new dentist and office.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Vertin and his staff! They are professional, yet personable and really care about your health and happiness. The office itself is very new and state of the art. Working with Dr. Vertin and his staff is always a pleasant experience! I have been a patient at this office since I was a little girl and I've never had a bad experience. The whole team treats our family like their own. I would encourage anyone who needs the best of the best to take care of their dental needs to come to this office-Professional, kind, caring, and genuine. Dr. Vertin made such a good impression on my grandparents and parents that I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my dental needs now. Keep up the great work team!

I just went in for a tooth ache and I needed a needed a new dentist. Let me say this building is amazing inside. He even had an elevator for handicap access. I am not a fan of dental work but the staff and service here was beyond wonderful. The front desk was prompt and I was treated with care. I had to have a root canal and I was quite unsettled but the procedure was amazing. Painless and very professional. Thank you very much and I recommend Matt to everyone. What a great experience.

I am SO happy that my husband and I decided to make the switch on our insurance to come here. (They were not accepting our previous one.) My husband was the first one to experience Dr. Vertin's services. He went in knowing that he would need a root canal, and did not expect it to happen same day, but Dr. Vertin took the time out to do it. He came out actually saying, "I think I really like this place." When I went to make my appointment two weeks later, the receptionist actually remembered who I was.
Do you know how rare that is? I was amazed. Dr. Vertin was very straightforward at my consult. (I didn't have anything done that day because I wasn't in pain like my husband was.) At my next appointment, I had to have a filling redone that had already been worked on two or three times before. THIS time around, though, it isn't catching food, hurting, OR falling out. he also took an impression of my upper row of teeth so that I could finally get another retainer.
My old one was not fitting me after the first time my filling was done. It was one of those old acrylic/wire ones. I had expressed my concern about having one to my other two dentists and they didn't seem to understand why. The one I went to before Dr. Vertin finally agreed to it, but wanted me to go in and pick up a paper referral, which was weird to me. Dr. Vertin and his staff actually seem to ENJOY what they do for a living, unlike every other dentist I have been to in the history of ever.
The ONLY thing that kind of sucks so far is, because we did have dentists in the past screw our teeth up, our new insurance isn't going to be able to cover everything we need this year.

Dr. Vertin and the entire staff provides extraordinary service. I have been going there since 1999 and left briefly to try 2 other dentists closer to home but decided they are worth the drive and went back. They are all so professional and pleasant (and less expensive than the other dentists I briefly tried). Highly recommend!

If you are in for cleaning they have a very good Hygienists, However, I highly NOT recommend Dr. Vertin to perform Filling or Root canals. Dr. Vertin did a filling on my molar, it felt unconfortable after filling and food kept getting stuck in my tooth, I went back to him, he said it need to be redone, he refilled it, however, this time I'm not able to eat on it or drink cold or hot liquids, throbbing pain is constant every time I try to eat on int.
Not to mention it took him 2 dentist visits to get the bite adjusted. I waited 2 weeks thinking that the tooth was sensitive to the filling and it will get better by time, it was still painful after 2 weeks so I revisited his practice only to find out that I need to do a root canal done at a root canal specialist and at MY OWN EXPENSE to fix the tooth and get rid of the pain!
The tooth was perfectly fine with no pain before the filling. I'm highly unsatisfied with the service, my wife, brother, father and 2 friends that I refered all will quit going to this practice. I just want to be honest and put my review before this happens to someone else.

I have never had a more amazing experience at the dentist's office than at Vertin Family Dentistry. I arrive a few minutes early to a warm, clean, and very modern looking office. I was immediately greeted and treated respectfully and promptly. Dr. Vertin has awesome technology in the exam rooms, and my cleaning was completely tolerable. I highly, highly recommend you visit!
