Dr. Cosby graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri in 1972. Following graduation, he entered the United States Navy and was commissioned a Lieutenant in the naval dental corps.

I have been using this Dental practice for several yrs. I hadn't been there for 2 yrs due to Covid restrictions, but finally did go recently, and was treated excellently. The hygienist was very thorough in her exam, cleaning & x-rays. Dr. Ritter followed up & I have an appt to go back. I found Dr Ritter to be most pleasant, personable, very easy to talk with. He asked questions concerning medical conditions & medications.he is thorough! SWS

*UPDATE Went back for a deep cleaning and it was amazing. I didn't know what to expect but pain was at the top of the list. Kaylee was my tech and she was excellent. I have a whole new perception on dental visits now! First time visit and the experience was lovely. Already have a return appointment set. Dr was great and staff was as well.

What is an absolute pleasure. The hygienist (I feel so bad for forgetting her name that quickly) was very polite and professional. Was quick to answer all questions and concerns I may have had, and give great advice on what to buy and how to properly brush and floss. Also kept a good conversation the whole time so it wasn't as bad as most places. Wasn't able to see the doctor for long but the short time he was in the room he was very polite as well. Wonderful staff, easy in and out. Will be going back and do recommend you visit as well!

I'm only leaving a review because i just received a weird text from a 3399 type # and it had the name of this dentist, my first name, and the date of 9/12/2012. I think it's a scam obviously. Anywho, I did go to this dentist over 10 years ago, ONCE, and they filed my teeth down in an attempt to "help" my bite. It didn't help. That is all.

Their office staff is completely incompetent and unprofessional. I sent my own claim back after they never followed with my insurance company after sending the claim. They never answer when you call and barely return your phone calls back. Don't waste your time and go to a better dentist till they hire competent office staff.

The staff at Blythewood Village Association are friendly and professional. And if your a Veteran in the Columbia, SC area looking for Community Care dental referral from the VA, I highly recommend this dental office. I am Veteran and really enjoyed my first initial appointment here. In fact my whole family will be receiving dental treatment here.

For the few times that I've been hear, my experiences has been wonderful. With my experience in working in the Dental Field in the Military, one of the most important areas is the reception area, cause it sets the tone of your visit. The reception area made me feel welcome as I walked through the door. Moving forward, the Dental Technician's, Hygienist, and Dentist were damm good at what they do, I think I will make this my Dental Home. After past dentist experiences that were made of nightmares, I finally found a dentist who is PHENOMENAL! Dr. Hughes was so kind and patient, and he took great care in his work. It was absolutely refreshing to have a dentist take their time and ensure their work is perfect. I left this dentist office without tears and with my mind completely at ease; I am no longer terrified to go to the dentist. I will NEVER go anywhere else. I finally found the rare diamond of dentists!

We had been with Dr. John Cosby for over twenty five years. I trust him and his staff with my entire family's dental health. Over the years he performed various procedures, including root canal, implants, crowns, etc. I never had a single problem with any service they did for us. Dr. Cosby is an artist of dentistry and recommend his Bythewood office to all of my friends, colleagues and neighbors
