Violet Orthodontics is the orthodontic practice of Dr. Violet Barbosa. Dr. Violet's clinical experience combined with a caring staff ensures thorough, comfortable and results-oriented treatment for patients of any age, from children and teens to adults. We are looking forward to giving you a smile that lasts a lifetime.
Dr. Violet comes from a long lineage of doctors who are serving people around the world. She continues that strong family mission of helping people through the art and science of orthodontics. She practiced and taught orthodontics in Goa, India before moving to the U.S. Because of her passion for orthodontics, she went back to dental school at New York University College of Dentistry and earned her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery).
Crossbite or underbite are when lower jaw/lower teeth are outside the upper jaw/ upper teeth. Prior to placing dental crowns or implants consider orthodontic treatment first so that missing teeth can be replaced conservatively and cost effectively. If you recognize any of the above signs or concerns in you or your child, it might be time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Violet.
Most orthodontic treatment begins between ages 8-12. Although your child's teeth may appear to be straight, Dr. Violet is able to detect subtle problems with jaw growth and how permanent teeth are coming in, even when baby teeth are present. This is important because there are some orthodontic problems that are easier to correct at an early age.

I just got my braces off, and finished my treatment with Violet Orthodontics, and my treatment was amazing! :)I was done in a reasonable amount of time, and the result was great. I went through a pretty long treatment, with an expander, braces, and this weird thing that helped with my open bite. Overall, my experience with Violet Orthodontics was overwhelmingly good, and I would definitely recommend them to any friends and/or family who need orthodontic treatment. - Petar (patient) Dr. Violet is beyond thorough is helping her patients understand the treatments she recommends.

Dr. Violet was so nice and helpful throughout the entire experience! I had crowding and she took it step by step, first spacing things out and then going into braces. She's always been gentle and made me feel like I was in good hands. I don't regret a single thing within my orthodontic treatment and if I had to do it again, I would choose Violet Orthodontics!

Very good experience. Dr Violet always has a smile on her face. It's an extremely friendly environment. Her work is extraordinary & some of the best in the state. High recommended. She is always thinking in your best interest but if you feel another wise she respects your decision. I have been with her for 5 years. First with an expanded. Now I just got my braces off after almost 3 years. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my teeth besides Dr Violet. You will not be disappointed. - Addrianna

Violet Orthodontics is a wonderful place. I got my braces as an adult and Dr. Violet was very informative and she took the time to explain the process to use in every step of the treatment. She also give you advice on how to change some habits in order to help with the treatment during and after. My treatment was extended for one more year vs what was planned, but this was a mutual decision between me and Dr Violet.
The end result showed this was the right decision. Peter and Dr Violet have the ability to mix professionalism with the warm atmosphere of visiting friends. Staff is friendly, place is neat and they try to accommodate the appointments to your schedule as much as possible. Which is something nice specially if you work full time. At the end of the treatment she took the time to make a Before vs After comparison with pictures of my teeth, which I though it was a nice touch and you can see all the work it was done. At the end I am very happy with the results and I am thankful to Dr Violet and her team.

Violet Orthodontics is a great place to take your children. Dr. Violet takes the time to explain what will happen during each appointment. Peter is super friendly and will arrange the appointments to your schedule as much as possible. Which is very helpful if you work full time. In fact I called originally because she was able to schedule after school.
Any questions I had were answered quickly and professionally. I believe you will be very happy with the results and I am thankful to Dr Violet and her team for taking good care of my kids!

As an adult, getting braces was a big decision. I am so pleased I came to Violet Orthodontics to go through this process. Dr. Violet is thorough and explained each step of my care plan. Peter and the staff were warm, friendly and accommodated my needs. Overall a great experience but most of all, I now love my smile.
