I had been going to this office for about 5 years. In Feb 2022 I went in for a routine cleaning appointment that was disturbing. When the dentist, Dr. Kaplan, came into the room he said that I had a cavity and went on to say that I must not be flossing my teeth. This comment was strange since it is simply not true. I was looking at the monitor, with my X-rays, expecting to be shown the location of the cavity when the dentist said, "You see it don't you".
That is a rhetorical question. I am a business professional and I do not read x-rays for a living, so I was shocked by this comment as it was clear he had no intention of showing me the "cavity". I said that I do floss everyday and Dr. Kaplan replied "Well, you are not flossing that tooth because you don't look when you floss". I actually do look at my teeth when I floss. Dr. Kaplan also said the cavity is "all the way through the tooth".
By this point, I was speechless and had already decided I was never coming back to this office because of the bizarre, unprofessional behavior of the dentist. I just wanted to get out of there quickly, so I made the appointment for a cavity filling with the office manager, Sandy, and left. I took a couple of weeks to research dentists in the area and decided on a new, large practice in Randolph that was highly recommended.
I scheduled a consultation appointment with the new practice and I called Randolph Dental Associates to have the X-rays that were just taken sent over. I spoke with Sandy and she asked if everything was OK. I explained to her what had happened during the last visit. She didn't seem surprised, but did apologize and asked if I wanted Dr Kaplan to follow up with me.
I told her I did not want the dentist to contact me because I had already made up my mind to never go back, but I asked that she share with Dr. Kaplan that his unprofessional behavior was the reason I was changing dentists. During my consultation appointment in March 2022 with the new dentist, I learned I DO NOT HAVE A CAVITY. My new dentist showed me new X-rays the new office took and the X-rays from Kaplan's office both do not indicate a new cavity.
The new dentist was also concerned about the unprofessional behavior of Randolph Dental Associates as well as the fact that they scheduled me an appointment to fill a cavity that does not exist. I had not cancelled the appointment I made to have the "fake cavity" filled, so after I received the text from Kaplan's office to confirm the appointment for a filling, I called Sandy, Dr. Kaplan's office manager, to provide her the info I learned from my new dentist consultation.
I asked Sandy if she could explain why I was scheduled an appt. to fill a cavity that does not exist and she said "I don't know, but I will find out". (I never received a call/message back from her) Sandy also said that she did not talk with Dr. Kaplan after she told me she would because "you did not want a follow-up". I informed Sandy that she is contributing to insurance fraud by filing claims for unnecessary dental work. Sandy calmly thanked me and we ended the phone call. My entire family will never go back to this dental office again.

My family and I have been going to Randolph Dental Associates for more than ten years. They are the consummate professionals in every part of their business. Everyone is concerned about our safety, health and well being especially during the current COVID crisis. In addition to regularly scheduled appointments they have gone well above and beyond to provide their services when emergencies arise.
Such was the case this week. I broke a tooth on Sunday and by Tuesday a temporary crown was inserted as I await the new permanent crown. This same situation has occurred several times the past few years. One of our kids lives far away and wanted to learn about Invisalign. One email to Dr. Kaplan and all our questions and concerns were answered and addressed.
We have the upmost trust, respect and confidence in Randolph Dental Associates providing their peerless dental services. We are grateful and thankful to Randolph Dental Associates who consistently provide skilled and excellent customers service, ease of scheduling, constant contact in preparation for a visit, convenience of completing on line forms and timeliness doing everything with courtesy, compassion and understanding. I switched to this new dentist because the one I was going to was partially out of network. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I had a cleaning which went well, and the doctor was very nice and thorough. I particularly liked that he took pictures of every tooth with a pen camera and we reviewed each one. Never had another dentist do that before.

We've been going to Dr. Chris Kaplan for 5 years and he is a great dentist. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. He and his staff are friendly and treat the patients with respect. We even bring our two young kids there instead of a pediatric dentist because we truly trust him and he and his staff are great with kids!
