I was told that I should have 2 part cleaning ( never had this cleaning before) and I was also told that it was pre authorized with my insurance with co-pay of 5$. Today I received a bill for the second part of the cleaning. I call them to ask for explanation and I was told that the first cleaning was covered and the second was rejected by my insurance.
I told them that they mislead me to believe that, as I was initially told that this cleaning is 2 part cleaning but now the second part is treated by my insurance as 'overuse'. I said, fine I'll pay for it but I don't want to come to your office anymore, please cancel my appointments. Now, I'm still on the phone ready to give them my credit card to cover the balance due, and the lady on the phone tells me that I need to understand my insurance better and hangs up on me! Unbelievable!

The past year dealing with this office has been very disappointing. I've switched insurance companies and verified my new insurance information with reception several times over the phone and in person. I was still billed $366 for a routine teeth cleaning and x-rays. All this, after the office needed to reschedule my cleaning two months from the prior date (thank goodness I wasn't experiencing any real pain) w/ no explanation from the WT.
I assume staff contracted covid, but they wouldn't be honest about that to patiences. I know the pandemic has created more work different health providers, and I try to be sensitive - especially to small businesses. But I can't allow to be taken advantage of, especially where health is concerned.

Cancelled multiple times, maybe once r/t Covid which I understand but the other 2 times wanted me to come in earlier for my appt and called the same day to request this I'm assuming related to everyone trying to leave the office early. Then they refused to clean my teeth unless I consented to XR's even though I told them I was pregnant. Stay away from here!

I have been to many dentists in Australia, and was nervous coming to the dentist in the US, but Dr Colleen and Sheila were just so helpful. The team at the front desk were welcoming, professional and just made what could have been an anxious experience an easy one. I cannot recommend The Whole Tooth enough.

I've had a phobia about dentists for decades. Whenever I had a toothache I'd manage to endure with the help of Tylenol, etc. A few months ago I had the worst toothache ever with an accompanying severe infection. Urgent care doctors said they don't do dental. I got a referral to The Whole Tooth and was amazed at the services I received.
After the toothache/infection was treated, I was told step by step what needed to be done to take care of current and future dental issues. I have completed my treatment plan and am totally satisfied with the services and staff of The Whole Tooth. I would recommend this dentist without reservations.

I've been visiting The Whole Tooth for over three years, and I highly recommend them! They've filled cavities, set a crown, and given me plenty of advice in between. The entire staff provide a pleasant, relaxed visit every time. They're taking this pandemic seriously too. Expect to have your temperature taken and follow important safety guidelines when you visit. You can't beat the commute either! Great location right next to the Brown line and 80 Irving Park bus route.

The young dentist talked to me like I was 10 years old. As a new patient I had to fill out some forms that were on a tablet. I didn't want to touch the tablet so I asked if they had some gloves I could use. She said no. Really? You've got tons of gloves! On a good note, the dentist recommended numbing my teeth since my teeth are super sensitive. No other dentist has ever mentioned that to me.

Pregnant people, please read this, especially if you've gotten to the part of the baby books that say to get a dental cleaning at least once during your pregnancy. I tried going to a dental office closer to me and they would only see me in my second trimester with a medical note. (My OBGYN had already provided a note in my patient packet.) I'm giving Whole Tooth 5 stars because they didn't ask me for a note, understood that I didn't want x-rays done while pregnant, and never made me feel uncomfortable for seeking dental care while pregnant. Lisa also went above and beyond during my visit to explain how to care for my teeth and gums. (Anyone else not have the best dental care as kids?) They did an excellent job with COVID-19 safety precautions and have the nicest administrative person.

I came to the Whole Tooth today for my routine oral exam and cleaning and had a wonderful experience. This was my second time coming to this office and I will definitely be back. The office itself is very clean, the staff is friendly and the entire experience has been very smooth both times now. Everyone is wearing masks, they take your temperature and you have to fill out a Covid questionnaire upon entry.
I have seen Dr. Pieta both times and she is extremely kind, knowledgeable and professional. She takes the time to listen to her patients, is very transparent and makes you feel comfortable in her chair. I highly recommend this office and specifically, Dr. Pieta! Thank you for the great experience!

I had a great first 2 visit experience at The whole tooth. I have not visited a dentist in over 2 years due to fear and laziness. They got me in fast and efficiently and Dr. Anna and her assistant were so smooth and fast! I felt no pain with the fillings I had and they fixed my ugly two front teeth back to 100%! I'm so happy I came and got the work started! I recommend going here and giving your trust to this staff!

I've been going to Dr Paulo for over a year now and would recommend her for anyone needing some great dental work. I've been through a myriad of work and she's always been thorough and helpful to help me solve my issue. The referral endodontists were just as helpful and I appreciate the ongoing service I get from the Whole Tooth regularly

This was our dentist when we lived nearby, but after we moved to the north suburbs we sought out a more convenient location. It only took a couple of visits to realize we had made a mistake. We have since come back to the Whole Tooth. It is well worth it for us to drive however long it takes to make sure our kids (and us) get the best care possible.

I've been with this dental office for 7 years, and they are great. Front desk always makes sure they do their best to work around my schedule when possible, hygienists always makes sure to tell me all the information needed in regards to the state of my teeth, and dentists always give me options on routes I can take to fix any issues. I read one of the recent reviews about deep cleaning. I've experienced deep cleaning with many facilities, and after 3 years of no cleaning, most, if not all, mandate a deep cleaning.
Take in perspective that you're supposed to go for a cleaning every 6 months! Anyway, for those scared of deep cleaning, unfortunately they don't offer gassing here, but they do numb you very well -- even my 80 year old grandma soldiered through with ease, so not sure what the reviewer was saying about pain. Office is right by the irving park brown line, corner of irving and ravenswood. There's street parking or you can park in their garage - ask front desk about it.
I definitely recommend this place. Clean, professional, friendly, and thorough! They're great with kids (they offer movie showing during an appointment), elderly, and people in between! Dr. Rewinski is such an easy going dentist!

I had a good experience with this place for many years, until I had not been to the dentist in some time (3 years). The dentist stated I need a deep clean, I get it done it seems to make sense. They take care of one half of my mouth and tell me I need to come back for the second half. I ask if they can gas me for the second half because it was painful.
They say they don't do gas, I don't get the second half done and go to a different dentist a year later. That dentist tells me I do not need a deep clean and I get a regular visit, been with Chicago Dental Studio River North ever since.

I want to be best friends with Dr. Rageb! After years of horrible dental experiences from various other dental offices (botched fillings, cutting the inside of my cheek with a tool, billing nightmares) I was referred to The Whole Tooth by a co-worker. I ended up going there for 7 years until I moved to LA. I'm seriously thinking of going back over the holidays just so I don't have to find a new dentist in LA. I've always had so many problems with my teeth and Dr. Rageb always helped out, gave me suggestions, made me feel SO comfortable, and was a pro at everything she did.
I rarely had to wait very long for anything, she is SUPER fast at doing fillings, and always made sure I was numb enough before doing filling work. She always checked in on me during procedures to make sure I was doing okay. Gals at the front desk are rock stars. All the hygienists are so nice and gentle. This place is all about their patients and it really shows. I've recommended it to all my friends!

So far three of our family members have seen Dr. Rewinski, two of them have braces and are pre-teens. She is gentle, explains things well, and thoroughly. Their staff is great and the facility is very comfortable and updated. She addressed issues I have had for a long time (TMJ and clenching teeth while sleeping). My other dentist never seemed concerned about it even though it was causing a lot of problems. My kids felt very confident in her treatment and liked the hygienist Andrea as well. I'm thrilled to find our family dentist in our new home city.

I was excited because the practice is close to my home and in my network. I had a cleaning and 8 cavities filled in 2012. I wasn't a fan of the practice (just didn't connect with the staff) so I scheduled my cleaning today with another dentist office. Turns out, most of my cavities were not filled properly at The Whole Tooth and I now need 4 of the cavities that were filled at The Whole Tooth refilled.
Because it is on the same teeth, my insurance will not cover these fillings. I am horrified that I could so easily trust a dentist practice, and would deter anyone from going here if possible.

I've been going here for years. I like this place a lot. Very friendly staff and a clean environment. Dr. Rewinski is always nice and takes the time to explain everything. Both Martha and Andrea are great hygienists. They are both great about taking the time to give good tips for brushing and flossing. I like that they always listen to any questions I have and always have a good answer.
I always make my next cleaning appointment at the end of each appointment. 6 months out you can pick any day / time you want and don't have to try to remember later to make an appointment.

I made an emergency stop at The Whole Tooth today due to a filling that fell out last night. They were able to get me right in today and patch me back up! I'm very very grateful for this as I really couldn't eat or drink anything without that spot becoming very uncomfortable. One note, Dr. Kitchens has left The Whole Tooth and I saw Dr. Slanina in her place. I must say that there was not a drop off in the quality of care whatsoever and she was great.

I went to whole tooth a few times and here are some reason why it did not live to my expectation: Pros - Clean, Organized Office - Easy to make appointments and have reminders - Hygienist was nice Cons: - Always get the feeling they are trying to milk as much money as possible out of me. For example: - Even if you went in for 5 minutes to get consultation for some options they will still find a way to charge it.
No other dentist that I've gone to would do something like that cheap, especially when no operations were performed at all. - They will charge you $40 for missed appointment. - Tried to charge me $200 more for invisalign than another dentist - Tried to sell me procedures that I do not need. Was able to confirm this with other dentists after trying to sell me up to $500 of additional procedures - Even with an appointment, be prepared to wait up to 40 minutes when you get there - Getting a checkup and a cleaning always required two separate visits. i.e. you need to accommodate to their schedule, not the other way around.
All in all, this dentistry has potential but they need to get out of this mindset of trying to fleece their customers. Do your job, do not oversell, and your customers will be more willing to come back.

You know when you hate to rain on a 5-star Yelpfest? Well this is going to be one of those times. It'd be 2 years since I'd last been to the dentist. Longer than it should be, but not that long. It took me awhile to find a dentist after we moved here. Dr Kitchens was super nice and sweet. I don't think I've ever talked to a dentist that much before!
So what's the problem? Trying to get me to pay for services that I don't need that's what. They tried to tell me I needed a crown. Well that seemed odd to me, but okay. They're the doctor. And then I left, with no cleaning. That just seemed like a waste of an hour and a bike ride in the hot sun for nothing! Now I have to come back to get what I initially wanted, plus get a crown?
Then they wouldn't tell me how much anything would be and made me wait for a quote on fillings and a crown (took about 3 weeks). I cannot pay for a $500+ procedure right out of pocket at the moment. And since when can't you look up my insurance and find out a price. An approximate even? All this on top of they couldn't take my insurance without a card (which my HR dept at work says they know what to do based on the group number - no Whole Tooth!).
Something seemed fishy so I got a second opinion. And guess what? No crown, and I actually got a cleaning done! This is a place that I thought would be a sure winner but not a match for me. Which is a shame b/c Dr Kitchens was really nice. Downtown Dental is my new dental choice!

This place is wonderful.as wonderful as a dentist's office could ever be. The office is super clean. sterile but cozy. They had an awesome magazine selection in the waiting area.you think this is unimportant, until you go to an office with NO magazines. I have been here multiple times and the wait is never long, we're talking less than 10 minutes. Dr Rewinski was patient, explained everything in great detail.
I mean step by step.which I love and she was GENTLE! Best part of the whole experience is that when I laid back in the dental chair and looked up, I could see out the windows and I watched the clouds go by. So calming when they're drilling in your teeth. And if that doesn't work for you, they have a computer screen at eye level with changing screen savers for your viewing pleasure. Fear of dentists no more!

Yesterday afternoon I had an awesome experience- and I was at the dentist. Forget finding your soul mate, I don't think there is anything more important than finding the perfect doctor, mechanic, hairstylist and most importantly- a dentist. When I walked in, the waiting area had a warm comfortable feeling; I was immediately greeted. I even believe the office person was sincere in her smile and warm welcoming.
As soon as I was done with the forms I was promptly taken back. When the hygienist opened up the door to the office I thought there was some mistake, this looked more like a luxury spa than a dentist's office. It was immaculate, serene, personal and state-of-the-art. I was impressed at the friendliness of my hygienist and how patient and understanding she was.
I was also impressed at the thorough disinfecting they did of all equipment before using it and after using it and all tools were sealed, making me feel even more safe and sterile. I liked how she told me that this x-ray would hurt because it was going to pinch a certain area of the mouth- I really appreciate these kinds of warnings. I think a pain warning is important.
She also showed great concern and care for my comfort and well-being. After she was done she told me there were a selection of magazines beside me I could read while waiting for the doctor and here is my only complaint. I only got to flip through about seven pages of my US Weekly and poof she was there; I couldn't have waited more than two minutes at the most.
Like the hygienist, she explained everything she was doing and how it may feel. She then thoroughly guided me through each x-ray on the LCD monitor in front of my chair. After the check-up she explained what she discovered and what options we had to fix-it. When I left I was simply amazed. I felt like I had just had a pedicure not a dental visit. In my book- this is the best dentist in Chicago- and probably many surrounding areas.
