If i could leave zero stars I would. The first time meeting the dentist you think "wow just a nice humble old man doing what he loves" wrong. He is a bitter old man that has zero patience. Our first appointment went semi smooth. I could tell he was running thin on patience but he chose this job so you would think he would be good with patience with high anxiety.
His sign claims to help people with fears of the dentist but then proceeded to kick me out because i had too much anxiety on our second appointment. I was trying to explain to him what was making me anxious in nicest way possible. He starts un plugging machines muttering under his breath "i cant do this shit. i cant do this" and starts slamming things onto his table so i sit up and im like "what did you say" he says "i cant do this. ive never seen someone with this much anxiety." meanwhile i was laying down on the chair and my eyes were watering as i tried to explain calmly what was making me anxious (anyone that has had an anxiety attack knows that this is not easy). he then proceeded to yell one more time "i cant do this" so i stood up, ripped off all the heart monitors and tubes they put on me and left.
This man was extremely condescending, rude, and nasty. Since my anxiety was "sooo bad" he wrote a referral to the hospital so they can sedate me and take my tooth out. (leaving me with two missing molars) Then when asked about putting a tooth in place of the extracted one he said i wouldnt need to. One second of searching on google and i find out if i dont get an implant that my teeth will shift. so this mans advice is to get an important tooth removed and just leave it as a hole. NEVER go to this man.
The receptionists were the only people that treated me like a human and were the nicest people ive ever met. i genuinely feel bad for them that they have to work with such a grotesque monster. He is extremely manipulative and claims he only wants the best for his patients as long as they give him a small loan of 10k. He is extremely overpriced and needs a reality check.

I've been going to Dr. Portale for over 30 years and I must say that they are an excellent dentistry. They have catered to me because I am a very nervous person and I was afraid of going back to a dentist because of previous experiences. Once I started going to Dr. Portale and his staff I have not stopped, they are all such great and professional people. I would recommend them to anyone & every time I go I have a pleasant experience.

Dr. Portale and his staff were very reassuring and helpful during our visit. Our son broke a tooth in an accident and we worried about finding a dentist who would do the best job at restoring his teeth. Dr. Portale took the time to sit us down and explain his procedure and why it was the best option for our son. We never felt rushed and appreciated the care and attention he and his staff gave to our son to calm his nerves during the visit. We are scheduled for several visits as he continues the rest of the procedures. We are thankful to return to such great care.

Dr. Portal & his amazing staff Susan & Jennifer make any patient feel comfortable and worry free. Throughout any procedure one is asked if you are feeling pain, are you doing fine, & please let us know if you are experiencing any discomfort. I was always reluctant in attending any dental work but I Dr Portale & his assistants have changed this for me. I highly recommend Dr Portale & his entire office staff.
