Staff has been great with my sons 1st couple of cleanings so far. However, we were told at our last appointment that we'd be coming for an orthodontic appointment, and after waiting six months it was not scheduled. They seem to be too busy and have too many people in and out to be concerned about the inconvenience

I did my research and read review of some pediatric dentist in my area, and was feeling discourage that i would find a place i felt comfortable taking my son. I drove almost 2 hours, because i heard how great the smile lodge was. They did amazing with making my son feel comfortable, and calm during his visit. We need more people like the staff at smile lodge, especially when working with children.

Their patience and thoughtfulness was appreciated. My son was so comfortable he was dancing and moving his hips while getting his cavities filled! I wish we lived closer, because the smile lodge would definitely be our first choice as our primary pediatric dentist.

My two year old daughter had to have her top four teeth removed. Prior to surgery while in the room the nurses/stuff made us feel so comfortable. They explained every step to us and every question we asked (even if we asked it multiple times, as nervous parents). The best part about smile lodge is that they allow BOTH parents in the surgical room. Dr. McMahon was able to remove her teeth, fill a cavity and put special coating on her teeth all within the procedure.

He was very Thorough. He even texted us the next day to check on our little one to see how she was doing. Although it was a hard situation for us as parents I wouldn't of had this procedure done anywhere else. The nurses were very gentle with my daughter. They talked to her and had her favorite show playing and really engaged with her. We always recommend smile lodge too other parents we talk to and will continue to take our daughter there. They also took into consideration of my daughter many allergies she has and took top precautions on everything they did that day! Thank you!

As a military family who moves every 2-3 years, my children have seen many different pediatric dentistry practices. The Smile Lodge is definitely our favorite so far! Staff is friendly and great with the kids, and appointments are like a well oiled machine. We are in and out quickly with what we need, but the dentist ensures they take the time to discuss any and all issues or recommendations.

We have been able to come in for a same day appointment after online conversation with a dentist (almost immediate response via email). They really do a great job ensuring the kids feel comfortable.

Our experience at the Smile Lodge Pediatric Dentistry was nothing short of amazing! My daughter was referred to the office from our hometown in New Hartford NY. This was a bit of a drive for us both, and we were both nervous as we were not sure what to expect. From the moment we walked in the staff member greeting us was both warm and welcoming! From there we met the rest of the amazing staff who made the whole experience as seamless as possible with a young kiddo about to get some dental work done.

My daughter felt right at home with her favorite Disney movie playing and her favorite songs throughout the appointment. The nurse explained everything to me step by step and put me at ease instantly. The doctor came in and did the same. I felt reassured every step of the way! I was able to be there for it all, which was both comforting and relieving to both myself and my child.

I just knew she was in the best hands, and she was! I can't thank this crew enough for treating us with such quality care and compassion. It's not always easy to be in that seat as a child or even an adult but the professional atmosphere, patience, and thoroughness of the staff and Doctor made the experience. I now have confidence in my daughters teeth that I was so worried about beforehand. I highly recommend this office and team for any of your pediatric dental needs! I could never put into words how great ALL of the staff is at The Smile Lodge! They are absolutely perfect! My son is non verbal, on the spectrum and has ADHD. He could be a lot at times. Not to mention he gets scared easily and it might come off aggressive. I always have a hard time with any type of Dr appointments. But I never have a problem with his Dental appointments or any dental work being done on my son.

The staff is so loving. They treat my son as if he is their child. They are patient, so gentle and caring. After all visits they follow up with you and it just shows that they really do love what they do. I appreciate them more than they will ever know. Dr. McDonnell is my absolute favorite! We love him!

Best pediatric dentist I have ever been to. They are SO great with kids, even ones who are terrified of the dentist and have severe anxiety. They really go out of their way to make sure you and your child are comfortable and happy. They aren't pushy and they go at the child's pace. They also make sure you as a parent have every question you have answered and really make your feelings and wishes feel validated. I will continue to bring all of my children here for as long as they are able. 10/10!

My 14 year old son was having a tooth removed. The front desk was able to fit us in at the last moment when he had a day off from school with less than one week notice. Often the front desk says they will take your name down, but you never hear from them. Not this time- great front desk staff! When we got there, they called us exactly at our time.

The assistant made my son feel so comfortable. She was accommodating, friendly, and kind. She ended up making a necklace out of the tooth for my son! Who does that? A great person- that's who! The doctor was great! So much so that when it was all done my son didn't even realize his tooth was out. Note I have had a few removals in my day-and I knew each and every time.

For him to be surprised it was done is a demonstration of her expertise and empathy for a nervous young man. Thank you so much! My sons only complaint is that he will age out in four years from going to you guys!

I brought my 4 year old in because she was having issues with cavities on her four front teeth. The smile lodge did everything they could to avoid surgery which I appreciate. When we finally could not avoid it any longer we went in thinking we were going to lose her front teeth. The dentist we had was absolutely out of this world amazing! He was like oh no no I will do everything I can pulling them is our last resort and he was right.

He was able to cap them and my daughter is so happy and can't stop talking about her new teeth! Thank you James McDONNELL and staff for helping my daughter and us as parents you all are amazing! Everyone was so nice and accommodating Smile Lodge is the place to go with your children! I wish they took adults!

I can not say enough good things about this place. It was the first time my daughter had been to the dentist and she was very nervous. We walked in the door and we were greeted with friendly hello's. The waiting room is fun and warm. Every person that helped us was very attentive and made sure my daughter was comfortable with them before they even touched her mouth.

They sang Songs while brushing her teeth and showed her each tool on her hand before even attempting to put it in her mouth. I am beyond happy with the service received. I didn't wait for even 5 minutes in the waiting room. I would have waited an hour if I knew how amazing this experience would be. To have a child with no fear of the dentist is the ultimate goal and I now have a child that can't wait to go back.

Fun for my son, professional for me. A great place for minor and major dental issues. The staff were friendly and skilled and the Doctors were especially helpful. Thanks for a great and unique experience!

My son and I really love smile Lodge pediatric, we like being there is very clean, very cozy and comfortable for they kids. All the staffs, doctors are very helpful and friendly, and treats you with kind and respect I really how they staff and doctors taking care of they kids. My daughter is 2 now and I know she will definitely it there. I am very happy with smile Lodge pediatric. Keep up the good work.

The Smile Lodge is the best. Our 3 kids have been coming here for the last 7 years. They have a very kid friendly atmosphere, all 3 kids are seen in the same room at the same time. The fact they can see each other and know each other is safe is huge for us. We especially love the team at Mt. Brushmore. They go above and beyond for all procedures, to ensure comfort and safety for the child and keep parents updated on progress. The Dentist checks in on the child the day after via text message. Smile Lodge is the best!

I love the smile lodge. They make my 2 year old daughter feel very comfortable and like she is Elsa with sparkling teeth. The hygienist referred to Elsa a lot during her cleaning. Everyone is always friendly and their approach is conservative. When I took my 11 year old to a previous pediatric dentist, they suggested treatment be performed in an operating room of a hospital. When I received a second opinion at the Smile Lodge, she didn't need much dental work performed and it was minimally invasive.

My daughter is not the easiest to handle or calm down for a dentist appointment and these dentist and their assistants are amazing and go beyond measures to create a bond with and trust in each child that comes through their office. Although my child still did not cooperate she's a little more stubborn than most they did a great job managing her teeth with out frightening her more.

They do not believe in forcing a child into the dentist chair and that in itself was an amazing experience as a mom. It's hard to watch your baby in fear and they comfort that fear. I would never recommend a child to any other pediatric dentist they get a 100% recommendation from my family!

We love The Smile Lodge! Our daughter actually gets excited to go to the dentist. She loves her sparkly teeth and always says how nice everyone is and how much she loves the building. I'm so thrilled we picked such a wonderful pediatric dentist.

Wow! I am so impressed with the smile lodge! We contacted you guys on Christmas Eve with an emergency and a very kind doctor emailed me- calming a very upset mom. When we came in for our appointment the facility was so beautiful! Everyone was so nice and gentle with my two year old. Constantly asking if what they were doing was okay with me and her.

There was also so much transparency with costs and what to expect. I would recommend this facility to anyone. It was such a positive experience. We drove an hour to see Dr. Kim and it was absolutely worth it. Thank you so much.

This is a one of a kind dentistry facility- state of the art and very kid friendly. Our 4 yr. old boy has autism and needed sedation for his dental work. The staff was extremely courteous, professional, competent, and willing to answer any question. They treated our boy very gently and Dr. McDonnell was fantastic- he is highly skilled and the ultimate pro.

We felt very confident in him as he worked with our son and would highly recommend him. We were allowed to be in the room while the work was done and he was very kind and gentle with our son as he worked very purposefully and quickly. We'd highly recommend the Smile Lodge to any family with young children- they are great to work with and the facilities are top notch.

The Smile Lodge runs like a well oiled machine, but never feels impersonal. We are in and out quickly and efficiently and all of the staff are wonderful. My daughter feels comfortable with all of the doctors and hygienists and they always take the time to explain things in an age appropriate way before they start. She had a small procedure and was very scared beforehand.

When the doctor came in he asked if I had any questions I said no but she is nervous, and the attention was immediately turned to her and they put her at ease. Treating my child like a person and not just another patient meant the world to us.

Normally i have a good time here but today my hygienist was literally not even picking at my teeth just my gums. if you have the lady with the cat in the hat scrub cap run

I don't know why this is only rated as four stars because it is well deserving of more than five! Sarah P. and Dr. McMahon are the best! It's always fun to watch some great Disney movies before you go in and everyone has a great attitude and sense of humor. Out of all the years going here, I don't regret one visit!

From Reception all the way to the actual procedure, I was amazed by the service. I had to change my appointment once or twice and was conveniently accompanied with no push back. My son loved the atmosphere at the smile lodge. My favorite part was meeting the dentist we called her Doctor Wonder Woman. She is truly a god send. She spoke to my son in language he understood and was very encouraging and caring. Every step of the way she made sure I was aware of what she would be doing. Thank you SmileLodge!

One of my greatest experience to a pediatric dental office. Their mastery of pediatric dentistry was a decade ago, but they are achieving and figuring out how to streamline everything more efficiently than any dental-home-model I have ever experienced. Their dentistry and entire clinic is very evidence-based. I look forward to their growth and I foresee the future of pediatric dentistry perfected under their roof. I hope their dental model dominates and spread throughout the nation.

The greeters and scheduling staff here has always been accommodating and friendly with my wife and I, and the hygienists and dentists have all been sensitive to some of our child's challenges. I only wish such a place existed when I was a kid!

The dentists here are very good and would've normally given a 4 out of 5, although they have deceptive business practices. My daughter needed cavities filled we discussed this with the dentist who was very knowledgeable along with the hygienist. The problem is the office staff explaining we would probably get a bill for roughly $300 and was assured the majority would be paid by insurance. It was not and we owed over $1000. We should've called the insurance co and got an EOB.

This place is just the best! Everyone is so fun- yet professional. Maria (Dental Asst) was the sweetest. Dr. McDonnell had me, and my son laughing the entire time. He's quite the singer :) So glad we found this place!

The Smile Lodge feels like a factory to me.as in they move you along as fast as possible. It was always quantity over quality in my opinion. Also, when I was between jobs and had a one month lapse in health insurance, the Smile Lodge refused to see my 1-year old who had a very concerning dental issue. I told them repeatedly that if I couldn't get my insurance to cover the visit that I would pay out of pocket for the visit as soon as I got my next paycheck and they flat out refused to see my son.

I understand that everyone needs to make money but it's nice if a place that is providing a form of health care cares at least a little about the well being of their patients.

Dr Lewis is wonderful. Although they all go above and beyond for customer service and attention to detail. I ususally dont say much about a dentist but this is worth letting people know.

I like to bring my child here. I took a star off bc once had to wait 45mins to be brought back. Otherwise happy with experiences in the past 2 years.

The smile lodge is worth the drive. I usually don't do reviews but I had to let others know just what they are missing out on. I've taken my daughter to a few other dentist but these guys are top notch. They make sure the experience is kid friendly and FUN. The dentist had on a superhero outfit how cool is that! There are 4 waiting rooms each one playing your latest Disney movie so if your little one is having some anxiety about the dentist office the Disney movies plays as a great distraction, not to mention the awesome free photo booth to pass time while you wait. Speaking of the wait. there's hardly ever a real wait! There's nothing bad I can say about this place. Seriously lol.

My son loves this place and he seems to be always excited to meet Spiderman (Dr. Eric McMahon) when he goes for a routine cleaning or check up. Everyone is always courteous and helpful. I personally love the kid friendly atmosphere and the movies on loop which keeps the kids and parents alike entertained at the waiting areas.

I've tried this place two more times and again, was seriously disappointed. My child needs to have some work done. Ok, cool. First thing the doctor said was to put silver in my child's mouth. I said no. The doctor looked at me like I was crazy. It was finally agreed to use white fillings/sealants. Fast forward: I show up to the appointment and was told a "big cavity was found" and the work might not all be completed same day.

Why wasn't this cavity "found" at the last appointment when xrays were taken? Laughing gas is necessary for these procedures and since we might have to come back, my kid would have to have a second dose of the gas. No thank you. I have since called another pediatric dentist and switched my kid to another practice. Oh, this reminds me: I didn't have to sign anything for my child's records to be released.

I was told since it was going to another dentist's office, all the other office had to do was call. HIPAA violations anyone? I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Wow! Absolutely beautiful facility with a wonderful staff! Excellent experience and very relaxing especially for a dentist office! I wish they saw adults! Lol

Hate it worsted receptionist No people skills what so ever. Was a grandma Tami g my grandson there for a filling because I was not mom or dad He has to wait two more months ridiculous Very upset

I love this place! I wish there was a dentist office like this for adults. First off the building really looks like a lodge and has animal statues or props all over. There is valet parking and pop music but with dentist type lyrics which makes you dance when walking up. Dr. McMahon is amazing with the kids and adults and he is always wearing a super hero shirt under his doctor coat so the kids can see part of the logo, like superman or spiderman.

Wait time if you are on time has been tops 10 minutes for us and we have been here 5 or 6 times between last year and this year. My son yesterday had a problem taking the mold of his teeth as it made him vomit. When I said he wasn't going to try again because the mold didn't set properly they weren't rude and understood, nor do they try to make you feel like a bad person for not wanting something they suggest. I think people who complain forget you can talk to the doctor about your concerns. Everyone is friendly here and I would recommend taking your child here.

Concerned only with charging insurance and doing whatever work will get them the most money. Very fun looking but, not great with kids, very judgemental and not open to parents choice of care for their children at all. I would NOT recommend this place to an enemy, much less a child! Receptionists are very cold and lack any sense of customer service. The dentist himself was very nice and friendly but, treats children as a paycheck rather than as a child. It's rush rush rush to get to the next dollar sign!

I have four children ages 3 to 12 and they have been going here for a couple of years. They are very accommodating working their visits in for around the same time. The staff is great with kids and the office is very nice. We have changed insurance a couple of times and they always participate with the insurance we have.

I have 5 children, so I've seen quite a few different dental practices over the years. However, the Smile Lodge was by far the most accommodating, child-oriented place I have ever come across. Between the kid-friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff, my six year old daughter was able to have a pretty invasive procedure done with minimal discomfort.

I was terrified of how she would be for extractions, considering that she has anxiety attacks with just vaccinations; fortunately, these professionals seemed to truly care about her mental well-being and did everything in their power to make her comfortable. And I LOVED the TV's they placed over the dental seat! She was able to watch and hear her favorite movie, all the while the female staff sang along with her. I'm bringing ALL of my kids there for now on! This practice is about as phenomenal as it gets!

I don't know why this office would get an average of 5 stars. It's kind of weird, YELP, that almost all their 5-star reviews aren't counted and not immediately listed. Hmmm.kind of suspicious and shady, don't you think? Give them a chance, peeps! Read on! I want to write this review on Dr. ERIC MCMAHON. He's the most awesomest guy aside from being a children's teeth doctor, he's a riot!

In a good way, if in case, you're not into riots. He's funny, he's great with the kiddies and he's just a great people person. He treats everyone the same, staff, students and faculty alike. You can't say that about a lot of people. He's very down to earth and the kids love him! He tells silly stories that makes children listen to him with wide-eyed wonder and for no extra charge, he even does MAGIC and the greatest anti-jokes ever!

As far as his skillage in dentistry, he's pretty damn fast, which is super important and necessary in working with pediatric patients. He's the absolute best and would definitely have my kids in his care!
