I have been a patient of clifton park family dental for years, years. This has been my experience with them while dealing with 11 months of chemotherapy for cancer, losing my job and a pandemic. It has been a complicated process. I have been in the process of having two crowns made for two years now, mainly thanks to covid and cancer, but some. very preventable reasons as well.
The crowns were supposed to be in December 2019. Insurance paid for them then and I actually visited the office twice before the end of that year to pay the remaining balance because I wanted to use my HSA before the end of year. I was told there was no balance (even though I knew that was inaccurate), the.

I have always recommended this practice until now. the hygienist and all assistants and office staff are to be praised. However, having seen Dr. Petel today for the second time I walked out! She was more like a used car salesman with a bad attitude than a compassionate dentist. The previous dentist suggested I have my partials relined to improve. the rocking, so at my next appointment, Friday, i decided to proceed with that. Today, when I arrived for dropping off my partials Dr. Petek totally tried to upsell me on new dentures when mine are comfortable and working! I got out of there announcing my total disappointment in the office. I hate that I may have to change practices to avoid the latest in a series of dentists.

Honestly, I have never in my life been to a better dental practice! Megan, Dental Hygienist, did the bulk of my work, and she was amazing. I met two of the doctors, and they were extremely friendly, helpful and had great personalities. My entire experience here, was amazing. From my initial phone call, with whomever answered the phone, to the. Dental Assistant that greeted me, Megan (whom I simple can't say enough great things about, the Docs, the Office Manager (Who personally came into my room to explain all of the insurance and billing to me).
I had 3 appointments, 3 days in a row, and every experience was exactly the same. After 48 years of always dreading going to the dentist office, I will never again have hesitation about walking into this practice!

I had a filling done 2 weeks ago (for a chip not a cavity). I still can't eat on the left side of my mouth without sharp pain and my jaw occasionally aches too. Prior to going to CP Family Dentistry I had no pain. Their recommendation, ibuprofen. Will not be returning and recommend others go elsewhere. A dentist should reduce not induce pain.

I love Dr Smitkin she does amazing work. After my ordeal this morning though I will be putting in for a record transfer. I woke up at 7am and took a $12 cab to find out my 8am appointment had been cancelled because I was unable to call and confirm I had an appointment. It is their policy that not only do you have to remember the day of your appointment but you also have to be able to call them the day before as well.
Which I was unable to do. I worked open to close at my job 2 days in a row just to get up early on my day off to spend $12 on a cab just to have to walk all the way home because my ride home again was arranged for 9am. Absolute inconvenience. Not to mention Kelly has never been a friendly person (girl who answers phones) but today I indefinitely had a few choice words for her (kept them to myself).
If you're not a people person DON'T WORK WITH PEOPLE! Hard concept I guess. Very sad when you have to switch dentist because of office staff and not the educated dentist and hygienist.
