Our district comprises eleven counties north of the Mohawk River and west of the Vermont boarder; Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington. The Fourth District Dental Society's membership is strong with 80% of licensed dentist in our district proud members of the tripartite (national, state and local).

The Fourth District serves more than 400 member dentists in Northeastern New York State, roughly from the Mohawk River north to the Canadian Border and from Vermont west toward Utica. The largest groups of dentists practice in Saratoga, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Amsterdam, Glens Falls, Lake Placid and Plattsburgh.
Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in the U.S. In the last few decades, much advancement has been made in implant therapy. As implant therapy is currently the new standard of care for tooth replacement, it is important for every dental practitioner to understand the periodontal surgeries available to predictably save teeth.
Identify the different cardiovascular diseases and classes of medications used in their treatment. Explore the clinical implications of these medications including adverse reactions and contraindications to dental therapy. Discuss the newest anticoagulants available including their adverse reactions and patient care considerations.
Membership in the Fourth District Dental Society is membership in our "Tripartite" system, strength in numbers with our state and national affiliates. When you join the nearly 400 members of the Fourth District you also become part of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association. All three societies are interlinked, and membership in one is membership in all.
