Services
The Trefoil solution is an option to replace a removable implant supported denture. It is a procedure that delivers a fixed (non-removable) full set of teeth to the lower jaw. The Trefoil implant approach is an option for patients who have inadequate bone in the posterior spaces of the lower jaw. It is a lower prosthesis supported by three implants strategically placed in the anterior part of the lower jaw. It is almost immediately restored, having the teeth connected can take anywhere from 24 -72 hours.
At NYCOMS, orthognathic surgery is the essence of what we do and the focus of our practice. Sometimes called corrective jaw surgery, orthognathic surgery involves moving various components of the facial skeleton to achieve balance, good jaw function and a comfortable jaw position. At times, it improves speaking, chewing of a healthy diet and, in various specific cases, opening and improving the airway.
At NYCOMS our goal is for our patients to enjoy a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing outcome resulting in restored confidence and restored quality of life. This is what we always strive for. Some patients have sufficient bone to support implant placement and are able to go right to traditional implant therapy and begin constructive work, while other patients may need zygoma or grafting prior to implant placement, but, regardless of the restorative therapy route, our goal is to help each individual achieve a functional and beautiful outcome.
At NYCOMS, we have the expertise and facilities and the ability to manage surgical care for patients ranging from youngest child to the adult population. This is particularly valuable and advantageous in cases that involve treatment over a period of many years. Cleft lip and cleft palate are examples of when a series of surgeries throughout a period of many years are necessary.
