I was diagnosed with gum disease and thought my life was over. I'm a young woman in my mid 40's and thought my future was dentures. until I met Dr Scharf and his staff. I researched him for a few weeks and found myself up all hours of the night reading his reviews. I been through a few periodontists by this time and all wanted to perform traditional cut and stitch surgery but I was not convinced.

I was determined to find a better solution. I met with Dr Scharf who confirmed the lanap procedure was in fact for me and will help. I was very apprehensive and nervous but every one of the ladies in the office are so professional and pleasant they understand the difficult process and help you through it. This is why they stand out from every other office. Mary thank you for all of our chats and your sincere compassion was beyond expectations! The best periodontist ever! I would like to first of all thank my dentist Dr. John T McLoughlin for having referred me to Dr. Sharf. I cannot even begin to praise the efficiency, kindness, the patience that the office staff have had with me since the beginning. I have had dental issues my whole life Dr. Scharf's bedside manner goes above and beyond.

The women in the front office Mary and Dixie were ever so kind and gracious with me, their welcoming approach really set me at ease. The best part of all of this was that I needed deep scale cleaning and the hygienist that I had seen is Kristen Ranaldo. I bonded with her, she was amazing! I had had a prior deep scale cleaning that did not go so well, but Kristen managed to erase that memory and create a new one that was much more pleasant.

I never felt the Novocain injections. I felt no pain whatsoever! She spoke to me and talked to me and she chatted to me ( to calm my nerves, because I had asked her to ) the whole time, she just made this experience feel friendly and familiar and I am ever so grateful! I love her for that! Thank you Dr. Scharf and all the team because truly *everyone* goes above and beyond, and that's just who they are, it's authentic and genuine and I am so appreciative, thank you so much!

Dr. Scharf is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. He called the night before my consultation to introduce himself, and this simple courtesy helped ease the anxiety I normally feel visiting the dentist/periodontist. The consultation was clear, painless and provided new insight into my dental challenges. The practice's hygienist, Kristen, performed the Perioscope procedure on me, and I'm very pleased with the results. Both she and Dr. Scharf called me afterwards to make sure I was feeling okay. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing experience with Dr. Sharf and his staff. The entire staff is very friendly and Dr. Sharfs hands are amazing. He talked through out my procedure and was super friendly. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I have my work to do and I am not dreading coming back here.

Excellent practice. Dr. Scharf was very patient and answered all my questions in detail and really took the time to explain the treatment. The staff is very friendly. Prior to my initial appointment, Dr. Scharf personally called to see if I had any questions or concerns prior to the appointment.

Recently had LANAP surgery done by Dr Scharf. The entire staff at Dr Sharif's office is great and the surgery made a huge improvement in my oral health. No more bleeding gums and gum pain. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs periodontal treatment.

My choice to make an appointment with Dr Scharf was the best decision I have ever made. Kristen is the best hygienist ever! My gums would be gnawing every night before I went to bed and now I do not experience that pain. The perioscopy was the best because there was no surgery involved. Thanks Dr Scarf and Kristen!

I'm really not sure where to begin, or if I can even express enough gratitude to Dr. Scharf, Mary and the rest of his staff. After having an upper denture for decades, and a lower bridge that was falling out due to tooth loss, I decided to venture into dental implants. After speaking with 2 other dentists that told me I wasn't a candidate, Dr. Scharf confidently told me that I absolutely was!

He performed the implant surgery without complication, recommended me to an awesome restoration dentist (Dr. McLaughlin of Bay Shore) for the permanent bridges and the result is incredible. I can eat virtually everything, have more confidence in my appearance and feel like a million bucks! Sure, it was expensive but worth every single dollar. With proper care, they will hopefully last me for the rest of my life. My quality of life has been lifted way beyond my expectations. Dr. Scharf, you are the best. Thank you!

I am giving to Dr. Scharf 5 starts for perfect all, from initial examination, to follow ups, to procedure, to post follow ups. Even the admin staff who got my insurance paying part of this non-covered procedure. I am super happy and strongly recommend this Periodontist Practice w/out any hesitation. Love you guys

I met with Dr. Scharf on 8/10/21 for a consultation for dental implants. The consult was very thorough and detailed. Dr. Scharf is a very kind, compassionate and comforting doctor. Puts you at ease immediately. Unfortunately I am not eligible for implants as I have too much bone loss in my upper jaw. I met with Mary on the 12th and she told me that they are referring me to another doctor who could do zygomatic implants which are specific for people with too much bone loss. Mary was absolutely wonderful. Explained everything to me and even made the appointment for me. Thank you so much Dr. Scharf and Mary. You are both a credit to your profession. If I ever need periodontal work I will definitely go back to Dr. Scharf.

Dr Scharf is the greatest periodontist you will ever meet. My implant failed twice with the bone graft and it seemed like i would never have the tooth i was missing for 12 years (i was born without one) but he gave me a tooth and finally i have a beautiful implant. he's so nice and really funny. if you're looking for a good periodontist he exceeds all expectations. do not look any further that would be a mistake :) Thank you for everything dr scharf

What a wonderful experience! From start to finish, my time at Dr. Scharf's office was pleasant and painless. All the staff is very kind and accommodating, and Dr. Scharf explains everything very thoroughly, easing any nerves that I had. I had my tooth extracted and the procedure was quick and comfortable! I would definitely recommend this office for any of your periodontal needs.

I am not one to write reviews but Dr Scharf and his team have to get the recognition they deserve. I had significant gum disease and bone loss. When I met with another periodontist recommended by my dentist I was so disheartened and terrified of the treatment that lay ahead. Luckily I did some research and found Dr Scharf who from day one made me feel at ease.

He took the time to just sit with me and get to know me as a person and patient. He then performed a thorough evaluation and had me come back to discuss it as he wanted to take time to consider everything including my my other health conditions. When I returned I met with Mary his treatment coordinator she explained not just one treatment plan but a couple of options.

It was detailed and there was no pressure to make a hasty choice. In the end I chose the laser treatment because it was more thorough and think will be better for long term results. The initial treatment was done in two visits. Knowing my anxiety level everyone at the office put me at ease. Dr Scharf made sure I was comfortable at all times during and post treatment. Dr Scharf even sent me flowers to say hey I am thinking about you and hope you are doing well.

He gave me a number reach him at anytime, and yes I called during a weekend end and he answered. He and his staff truly make you feel comfortable they treat you like a person not just a set of teeth. Thanks to Dr Scharf it looks like I will be keeping 6 teeth the first periodontist wanted to extract. Please believe me if you need a periodontist take the time to meet Dr Scharf and his team. Thank you Dr Scharf.

Dr. Scarf is the best dentist I've ever had. He is always quick to respond to any of concerns and always makes himself readily available. He is always professional and friendly, as is the entire office staff. The office is always immaculate. I would recommend him 100% to any of my friends and family.

To say that this office is like a circus would be insulting to any circus. The Dr. and the staff are incapable of telling the truth. Literally. We've had to file a complaint with the BBB over their unethical billing practices and failure to do what they say. They try to string along sending promised documents or refunds hoping that customers get frustrated and give up.

The "Dr." has gravely misjudged my resilience to see this through for our refund. We need the entitled refund but now feel the obligation to alert any potential client of the charade this place is. Lots of great periodontal professionals doing quality work and deal honestly, I'd highly recommend going elsewhere. Can't be trusted, IMO.

Dr. Scharf is great guy, understanding, and helped me resolve my receding gum problem, I would highly recommend him, and his practice, conveniently located in Babylon village the heart of Long Island.

I would give zero stars if possible complete rip off and unprofessional I am disappointed with the entire process.

When I moved to Islip, One of the first things to do on my list was to get my 89-year-old mother I, m Dr. Scharf was referred to me by the dentist I just met here. Thinking about her care, I had to be careful to choose who can do this surgery with the least risk. After going to several consults, we chose Dr. Schar. He only does Gums! and he didn't give me any long drawn out reasons why we should spend tons of money.

He was able to do my moms implants Laser Guided which meant nonevasive surgery vs the Flap, without extra anesthesia, Just simple injections to numb her. In addition, the staff was amazing, gave me plenty of financial options, Relaxed my mom, she was better coming out than going in. She talked the whole way home of how the staff and Dr. Scharff Were so gentle and amazing.

Not once did she complain of pain!, Not even that much swelling. They care her a wonderful care package to bring home that even had Ice cream. Dr. Scharff himself not only called that evening to see how mom was but he also gave her a key tag with all his numbers on it in case of an emergency. The Next Day my mom received beautiful flowers with a card from the Office Dr. Scharff and the Staff.

I promise, Especially if you care for your elderly parents, please choose the implant doctor wisely as we did. Dr. Scharff is definitely the Right Choice. My mom is better than ok and now on her way to eat whatever she chooses and at 89 years old, That is a blessing!

Best dental care I've ever had. Dr. Scharf performed oral surgery, and corrected a problem I had for years. After the surgery Dr. Scharf called me at home to see how I was feeling. Now my teeth mouth and gums feel as healthy as when I was young (I'm in my early 50's). He is truly the best. I go regularly for cleanings, and both hygienists I've had are outstanding.

The office staff is also excellent. Everyone there is friendly and warm. The office itself is beautiful and clean. From what I understand, Dr. Scharf also teaches the newest periodontal procedures to periodontists around the country, so when you are his patient, you benefit from his knowledge and expertise in the latest and newest techniques in the field. I highly recommend Dr. Scharf.

Just got my back molar & wisdom tooth pulled out w/ zero pain or discomfort! I LOVE my periodontist who also fixed my severe gum disease w/ painless laser treatments! Greedy. I had a severe infection but he made me wait to save up $1,000 so I had an infection every month until I had the money to go back. Then only did one procedure, the extraction which I could have done at any dental facility. He gives his home # then when I had to call he started yelling at me. So greedy and nasty.

Dr Scharf was truly amazing. I had severe case of plaque on my guns and teeth which cause my mouth to bleed every time I brushed them. I also was deathly afraid of going to the dentist. After meeting Dr Scharf, by being referred by Dr Ferrari, my view completely changed and had the necessary procedure done in order to have the plaque removed. Not only was it the easiest procedure I ever had done but the technology newcomb he uses made me feel very relaxed and removed all of my fears.

It literally was the best thing I ever had done and now my teeth and gums have completely healed. I am now also more confident when speaking. Even after the procedure was completed Dr Scharf called me at home to check in and even sent flowers a couple of days later. I highly recommend Dr Scharf to anyone need periodontist work as he's not only the best but a true class act and professional.
