I LOVE THIS OFFICE! Not only are my 2 kids patients (ages 13 and 16), but I myself, a 50 year old mom of 3 woman, a patient also. I just got my braces removed and I could not be happier with my results! I interviewed a few orthos when I was looking for someone and Dr. Reichold and Dr. Vargas and their team were above and beyond. I did not feel like it was a factory of just slapping braces on and off.
They analyzed my pictures, asked what results I was expecting and came up with a cohesive plan. I cannot recommend this practice enough! It's a pricey investment and they are worth every penny! - Melissa M.

We are an existing Mt Diablo Ortho patient family and we love this office. My 8 yo daughter is currently an Invisalign patient and we just met with Dr Vargas to discuss the ortho needs of our 19 year old son who is in need of a 2nd phase treatment. he received his phase 1 treatment close to 8 or 9 years ago and we have been waiting until he stopped growing to move into phase 2.
We knew he was going to need a 2nd phase and he will ultimately need some additional work down the road, but we are so grateful to Dr Vargas and Gaby for all the time they spent educating us and providing us with all the necessary information. it was a lot all at once. We have become friends with everyone in the office and our kids feel very comfortable with the staff. we are thankful to have such a good relationship with this office.

My middle child was referred by her dentist to see Dr reichhold for a second opinion based on the complexity and her unique situation. After many evaluations we decided to go with him and his practice. And I am glad we did so. She's been through a lot but I am extremely confident in every decision that has been made so far pertaining to her treatment.
They are extremely flexible with us and we actually travel an hour and a half to this practice because I don't trust any other orthodontist with my children given their Situations. I have interacted with Tamera Kim Gaby Angela and Michelle all over the phone numerous times and they have all been extremely pleasant and accommodating for us. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

This review is long overdue! I've been with Reichhold and Tanner (mainly Reichhold) since 2016. Long story short, I did Invisalign, lost my retainers during the pandemic, and had to get braces again. With that being said, I've had many visits with these folks! Everyone here is always so friendly and welcoming. I usually see one of their amazing assistants, Veronica, and she is fantastic.
She keeps you on your toes with your retainers but we need that! How else would our teeth look so nice? Well of course Dr. Reichhold and his expertise. He knows what he's doing and is a perfectionist when it comes to orthodontia. I will say, I'm extremely picky about my teeth and he, as well as the office staff, know exactly what they are doing. I couldn't be anymore happy with the results. I recommend all of my friends and family here. Thank you guys!

Due to Covid, we had been putting off the necessary task of finding a new orthodontist for our daughter after she relocated from the South Bay Area. Well, it's been many months now and we just couldn't wait any longer. Having been referred by a dental professional/friend of the family, we had high hopes and were not disappointed! The entire experience of our first appointment was perfect and we actually look forward to the next. Also, thank you for making your office as safe as possible with signage, plexiglass and a temperature taking station. We felt very safe.

I have been going to these guys since I was in the second grade (now in my 20s) and would never consider going anywhere else for orthodontic treatment. I have had braces, retainers and everything in between and my smile is now one I can be proud of! The staff take the time to get to know you and consistently treat you with care and respect that is unparalleled to any other doctor I have ever been to.
When I needed minor treatment recently after a long hiatus of being in the office, everyone treated me like an old friend. Special shout out to Gaby, Stephanie, Kim and Veronica! Thanks ladies!

I hated going there. There was some problem with every visit. They seem great for children who fit into their cookie cutter operation. When vacation time comes, the Dr's. leave for a month each and your schedule goes off. I argued with the staff to have another Dr. see me while mine was gone, and managed to finally get one 2 weeks after my scheduled time, so one attachment was not near fitting into my invisalign. Dr. Tanner was surprised at every visit when I kept them all informed of how my TMJD problem got worse through the year, ending with a massage therapist helping me with the jaw pain.
He said he was remiss about shaving one of my teeth at a previous visit, explaining the problem with my teeth moving into position, struggling getting the invisalign in and out, and the extra pain shoving those teeth into the next set. I was so upset at my concerns never being addressed, I finally wrote an email begging Dr. Reichhold to help and finish my treatment.
He did finally see me while Tanner was on vacation, but said I had to stick with Dr. Tanner because he was going on vacation for the next month when Tanner returned. BUT when I showed up for my appt., the tech Vee said I was done, made the mold for my "retainers", and Dr. Tanner would not see me. He later put in writing that the team decided I was done (Dr. Reichhold concurred, after telling me I still needed to be seen), and said the pictures that were taken (when he wouldn't see me, although he was working at the chair next to me and heard my concerns) confirmed his decision.
I didn't argue to make him put his hands in my mouth when he wanted to avoid me. The Dental Board of California replied to my complaint stating that the allegation, if proven true, would only constitute simple negligence which is not a violation of the Dental Practice Act. However, repeated acts of negligence are considered a violation, therefore, if the Board receives any similar complaints, my complaint could be re-opened.
The staff isn't so great either. There is no system for who makes the next appt.; sometimes the tech does, sometimes the tech tells you to make it at the front desk, which I passed several times because they are usually busy chatting with each other and don't notice me. The appts. I had with Cindy at 1:30, she's just coming back from lunch, chatting with people in the front office, then brushes her teeth, all in view of the waiting room, then gets you ten mins. late with no apology.
She handles every problem by listening and smiling, then complimenting your jewelry to change the subject, and she thinks that handled the problem. Vee and Cindy put their arms around each other and tell me how great each other is, so there can't be a problem. Apparently Vee didn't know she was supposed to be my Case Manager, and I didn't know I was supposed to have one, till Cindy said at the end to Vee, that the person who took the pictures is the Case Manager.
That would have been Vee. She was too busy planning her wedding, and being an open space there is often personal chat among the staff while they're working on you. Not once was I offered a place to put my purse and coat, while they stood there watching me place them on the floor. A few times I wanted to grab a chair to put my things on, but I'd have to move things to get to it.
On one visit, a tech came at me with a large contraption I'd never seen, and after asking three times what she was going to do with that, the only answer I got as she shoved it into my face, was "You're going to have to stop talking". I could go on with other staff problems, Tamara writing misleading notes in my file that do not reflect what happened, Felicia squeezing me in with a same day appt., then leaving for the day without writing it in the book.
I have to say Kim was one of the few people who did treat me with respect, but she works at the desk. Take your money and go somewhere where you will be treated properly. I paid $6596 out of pocket and saw Dr. Tanner six times, and Dr. Reichhold once. They refused to refund any money. I'm looking for another ortho.

Two of my kids got their braces here at Dr. Tanner and Reichhold Clinic. Perfect smiles! My 3rd child--17-year old daughter-- has been going there, too. I won't look for any other clinic because Drs. Tanner and Reichhold are excellent in what they do, the orthodontic assistants are very good, and the staff are very friendly, polite, humble, and helpful.
Because of the pandemic going on and a Shelter In Place at our county, my daughter and I was very surprised that Dr. Reichhold was the one who personally reach out to us by calling us on our phone. We feel he cares, and he was letting us know about the current situation, office being closed, and they will make sure they will take care of appointments as soon as the Shelter-In-Place is lifted. He also let us know that we can give him a call if we have questions or concern. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants or needs orthodontist care.

Wow, what a fun place. When the employees are happy the clients are happy and in the medical field this means better care. Everyone was nice, happy cooperative. It was awesome. All expenses are fully explained verbally and in writing. It was fun to be the only adult patient in the waiting room. But everybody was well behaved and seemed very comfortable with what was going on.
No unhappy kids. I'm super happy Invisalign will work for me. Can't wait to get going. I really wasn't expecting such a great experience. Btw Gaby was wonderful, I feel like I have a new friend.

Dr. Reichhold and his team are absolutely wonderful. I have been doing Invisalign for a couple years now, and am seeing incredible results. Most people would have probably been overjoyed with the results I achieved within a year. but I am extremely picky and a perfectionist, and Dr. R has always been so patient in making any adjustments that I want (no matter how small!) He is not happy until I'm 100% happy, which I SOOOO appreciate! Veronica (his assistant) is so delightful as well, and is very efficient with all my scans, attachments, etc. If you are looking for a top notch orthodontist for not only kids, but adults, you found it!

Amazing. If you get braces here they basically have you covered for life. It was totally free to get my alignment and retainer checked after 9 years. Really impressed and even though I hated getting braces as a kid, I'm glad this was the place my parents choose. As an adult now, the pain I suffered from getting braces has paid off and I smile often especially to prove my point and get what I want, which I'm sure my parents now hate haha. Thanks, T & R and all your wonderful staff who have made my smile possible.

I was very satisfied with my treatment until yesterday's appt. The young assistant who helped me was very rude. Her name is veronica, i think. She doesn't know how to care patients and explain. I was told she is new. I hope they train her for better patient care. then it will be 5 stars. The doctors care patients and other staff are nice. Invisillign attachments can scratch and hurt inside your mouth so I recommend asking them to file I am amazed by how fast my teeth are moving.
The office is clean and I love the wall painting. Very pretty and calming. I consulted with other 5 orthodontists/dentists in concord and walnut creek and I'm glad that I chose this office.

I've been with Tanner and Reichhold Family Orthodontics for over a decade. I am a "complex case" due to several missing teeth, and so they saw me through several rounds of braces, neck gear, and retainers until I finally had space for two dental implants. I was primarily Dr. Reichhold's patient, but I have also been seen on occasion by Dr. Tanner, and both of them are wonderful, skilled, and friendly.
Their office is clean, beautifully decorated, and well-lit. The staff is genuinely caring and making follow-up appointments is a breeze. I recommend Tanner and Reichhold Family Orthodontics to anyone wishing to make their smile a bit brighter :

We are not local but had a braces emergency. They were great and saw us within an hour and completely took care of my son. Our technician called over the Dr. Reichhold for a consult and they patched up my son's braces perfectly. The office staff was friendly and this entire experience which had been a bit harrowing was completely turned around.
If they treat those who are not even patients this well. I imagine if you become a proper patient, you will receive excellent care. Thank you to everyone for help above and beyond!

I have been seeing Dr. Tanner and Dr. Reichhold now for about 9 months. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Both Drs. are always attentative and caring of my needs. I am excited to see the results considering my teeth and bite are not the easiest to work with. I procrastinated for a long time but I am happy I finally made the commitment later in my life and found the right office. Braces are cool at any age and soon I will be looking like Tom Cruise! I had braces several years ago with them and now it's my daughter's turn. The staff treats you like an extension of their family. The doctors are genuinely good people! They have a brilliant rewards program for the kids to collect wooden nickles and then trade them for prizes. You can earn these nickles by taking good care of your teeth, wearing their t-shirt to appointments, and coloring a picture.
They also have a pretty fancy office with free Keurig coffee, hot chocolate, or apple cider. Also free animal crackers and goldfish. They provide disposable toothbrushes for cleaning up before your appointment. They have payment plan options with no interest to make it easier on us parents. It's in house so no credit check required. They used to have 2 locations but now just one.
I liked the Pleasant Hill office better since it was right off the freeway. This solo location is way out of the way! This unfortunately had knocked one star off. I really would only knock 1/2 a point off if I could.
