Dr. Mark C Carl

This place is a complete JOKE. I called to make an appointment and was told the doctor was not accepting new patients. Seems an odd way to run a business, probably untrue, but okay. I called a year later because the location and reviews are good and was booked for an appointment and told I would receive a reminder text. I never received any text hence called the office early on the day of my appointment only to be told I was not on their schedule at all.

This doctor may be good for all I know but he needs to reevaluate the people running his front desk because inept would be a serious understatement for them. If you make an appointment here be sure to get the name of who is booking you and note the date and time you made the appointment for your own "protection". You may arrive only to be told you are not even booked and your only recourse will be to identify the person who claimed to book you to the doctor.

If you are new to the area or just looking for a new dentist, Check out Dr. Carl. I have mostly gone for cleaning, but have had a cracked tooth. Dr. Carl takes and his staff take care of things quickly and comfortably. I definitely recommend him -- very highly.

Dr. Mark Carl is AMAZING! I have an 8 year old son with high anxiety for going to the dentist - I believe stems from a traumatic experience he had with a previous dentist. Dr. Carl is SO patient with my son and will go the extra mile in doing the RIGHT thing for his patients. He took his time explaining things he was doing to my son to lessen his anxiety and this allowed for an amazing experience. 10/10 would always recommend Dr. Carl to anyone - I will be moving my whole family over from our old dentist to Dr. Carl

Darcy is a wonderful dental hygienist and Dr. Carl is personable and thorough. I love how my teeth feel after they are cleaned by Darcy! This office is conveniently located at Fairfax Corner! Afterwards, one can dine at the plethora of eateries or enjoy a movie at The Rave. Wednesday evenings bod specials.

Great doctor backed by an awesome team. I recommend this practice any day.

Dr. Carl is amazing! I fell and chipped my tooth at midnight and he responded to my text that night! He came in during his day off to fix it! I can't thank him enough! Thank you!

Dr Carl is always very kind and pleasant. I believe he's very good at what he does - both as a dentist and an artisan. I say that because he's worked on crowns for me. He's made them look good and "right" with rest of my teeth. I would definitely recommend him.

I have been going to Dr. Carl for many years and have always been happy with not only him as a great dentist but everyone, from his front desk staff to the friendly and professional hygienists. Most importantly, he is not only an excellent dentist but an honest man.

My son had a dental emergency and Dr. Carl was so kind to fill us into his schedule and get him all taken care of during weekend hours. He was kind, friendly, understanding and patient with our son the whole appointment and was able to treat the issue and get him all taken care of. It was our first time there and we will be going back for our regular appointments. Highly recommend Dr. Carl and his team.

Dr. Carl has been our family dentist for at least 18 years. Always a very pleasant experience. Darcy is the best dental hygienist. He has the most up to date, state of the art equipment.

Had a fine experience through them during the visit, however insurance did not fully cover a bill and I have been told that I was mailed an invoice 7 times yet I have not received one. I was also given a call to setup another appointment a month or so after the appointment which I told them I'd have to setup at a later date and during that call, I was never notified of the bill.

I was then sent to collections for twice the amount of the bill despite not receiving one of the seven invoices that they claim they mailed or a single call or email regarding the bill even though they have both of those. I some how managed to receive the collections bill on the first try, however. After talking with them about this, they are unwilling to solve this outside of collections.

If you plan on using them, I would recommend calling after every visit to make sure you don't have a bill as they may just not notify you and send you to collections. I however, will be looking elsewhere to get my braces done as I cannot justify using someone who doesn't care enough about their clients to use any of the methods they ask for to reach out before sending them to collections.

Dont know where all these 5 stars reviews come from. About 3-4 yrs ago Dr. Carl try to do a double implant. He failed miserabally and had to retured to me $3,500. Fast foward to 11/2018. went in for a cleaning, because their hygienist is great. Explained beforehand the I had BC/BS FEP. I asked if the doctor accepted this insurance. Ingrid, the front office manage said yes. Cleaning, xray and consult was $312.

My insuranance informed me that Dr. Carl was out-of-network, and that would not cover the cost. I informed Ingrid of this and asked if I could get a discount because of their mistake and she informed thar Dr. Carl had said no. No discount for his office's mistake. Now Im stuck with a $312 bill. Thanks Dr, Carl for your selfish kind heart. Definately NO, 5 stars

This dentist is as good as it gets. The staff too. You can't go wrong with this dentist. I was seeing him for years but unfortunately, I now carry Delta Dental and he is not covered.

Dr. Carl and Darcy are fantastic! I've been seeing them for many years, and I know I'm getting the best care from them.

Nobody likes going to the dentist - however, if Dr. Carl is your dentist, you will not dread your appointments. The office manager and reception staff are the nicest, most polite and helpful of any healthcare staff I've encountered. The hygienist, who cleans my teeth, is likewise lovely and gentle. Dr. Carl is thorough and skilled, and he's also a dog lover, which says a lot about a person, in my humble opinion. I actually drive quite a distance to continue to receive care from this office, and have been a patient there for over 10 years.

I live in DC and gladly drive an hour out to this dental office. Not only is the staff extremely friendly, competent, and well educated- Dr. Carl's work is amazing. He explains everything before and during the procedure, you can feel relaxed to rely on a true professional. He is conservative with his decisions which I value. It is refreshing to have a skilled opinion and not to feel pressured into unnecessary procedures out of fear.

His staff also spends time with you, explaining procedures and answering all of your questions. I'm not originally from this area, but I am thankful to have finally found a wonderful, talented dentist!

Came to Dr. Carl about a 2nd opinion for work recommended by another dentist. Staff was very curtious and polite. When seeing the doctor, he was nice and cheerful. I down graded the rating because he was a little rough in with the examine and scratched my lip on accident. Other than that, he's okay.

Dr. Carl and his staff are very knowledgeable and kind. I've been going there for a few years now, and would not consider any other dentist. This place is great! I'm coming all the way from Maryland, so that should tell you something.

I came to Dr. Carl because my previous dentist wanted to use porcelain in a filling which would cost over a grand(this was 10 years ago)and he wouldn't give me any other options. He said "you would be able to see a dark filling when I smiled." This tooth is the last before my gag reflex! Who the heck going to see that far back! ~ Saw Dr. Carl as my second opinion and he gave me lots of options. Fixed my tooth and didn't judge me or over charge me! He also has a wonderful front desk staff.
