Vanyo, has a long history in the Durham community. Our office has been around for over 35 years, and Dr. Vanyo, our office's third owner, has practiced dental care in the Triangle since 1988.
Fluoride prevents tooth decay in people of all ages by strengthening the enamel outer portion of your teeth to be more resistant to the acid in plaque bacteria in the mouth. Periodontal disease is a common gum disease but preventable. Originating from poor oral hygiene, Periodontitis causes redness and swelling in gums and can destroy supporting bone structure around teeth.

Wow! I had a tooth bothering me, I walked in to see if they could work me in for an exam. They did. Dr. Vanyo took the time to explain what was going on and what he recommended as a fix. Later that same day, I was able to get the old filling with some new decay removed and a new filling in place. The process/procedure was painless. I barely felt the needle for the numbing meds.
The entire staff were fantastic. I can see why they have so many 5 star reviews. I'm happy to add my 5 star review and would gladly recommend this business. I've already scheduled my cleaning with them.

"After visiting one dentist in Durham and being dissatisfied, I got the name of Dr. Stephen Vanyo from an orthodontic practice which often works with him. I'd already paid for a comprehensive exam from the first dentist and wondered if the next one could use it so I wouldn't have to pay again as it was less than ten days old. When I spoke with Lauren and explained that I'm on a fixed income and unhappy about having to pay twice, she immediately grasped the situation and said that Dr. Vanyo was offering a new patient special, which would end up costing me less than the first one wanted, even with the cost of the first exam figured it.
What a terrific example of problem-solving and listening to a patient's concerns! The office is quiet and orderly. I was seen promptly on time, and everyone took the time to explain each step of the process. They were cheerful, energetic, and good-natured throughout. I got the services I'd expected, and in fact more information than I expected.
One of my teeth had to be X-rayed again as it's far out of alignment and has become a recent concern. I was not charged for the additional service, and I appreciated Dr. Vanyo's taking another picture to be very sure of the best course of treatment, that day and going forward. I'm new to the area and feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Vanyo and his staff. They have a patient as long as they'll put up with me!"

I've been here around six to eight times to have my teeth cleaned. Each time was a different person, but everyone has been so friendly and accommodating. Dr Vanyo genuinely feels like he cares about your well being. So much so that he gave me his cell phone number in case I had a dental emergency after hours. Who does this? He doesn't really know me other than a handful of 5 minute conversations. Anyways, I'm lucky that I haven't had any dental problems so I can't say how it would go if I had to have something major done. But when the most memorable part of going to the dentist is that everyone is so kind, I can't imagine going somewhere else.
