At our office, your oral health is our paramount concern. We want to make sure your teeth stay healthy, function well and look great! Dr. Caplin has been in practice in the same location since 1978. She did her undergraduate work, majoring in Biology at Boston University followed by attending New York University School of dentistry to attain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). NYU awarded Dr. Caplin a Certificate of Merit in Oral Medicine and Distinguished Dentist Award in Removable Prosthodontics.
A: The brand of the toothbrush is not as critical as the type of bristle and the size of the head. A soft toothbrush with a small head is recommended because medium and hard brushes tend to cause irritation and contribute to recession of the gums, and a small head allows you to get around each tooth more completely and is less likely to injure your gums.
Our office is open Monday through Friday, with hours that can accommodate most any schedule. We know that your time is important, and we work to ensure that your visit happens as professionally and quickly as possible. Dental emergencies are never convenient or timely. At Joanne Caplin DDS PC we are committed to our patients' dental health no matter what time of the day or night it is.
You can pay for your office visits and any treatments by cash, check, or credit card at the time of treatment. We do not participate in any dental plans, but we accept what your insurance pays and you will be responsible for the difference between the insurance payment and the dental fees. I have been going to Dr. Caplin for many years and have always had an excellent experience. She is caring and sensitive to nervous patients. This is a dental practice that takes your teeth seriously. I appreciate the care received not only from Dr. Caplin, but her entire staff - its like visiting with friends. I especially like that before I can put my butt down, I'm already called into the exam room. I highly recommend this dental practice.
