Dr. Garret was born and raised in Olympia, Washington. He earned his undergraduate degree in Science and Management from Claremont McKenna and later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington.

I am a new patient to Dr Yamaguchi. I needed to have a tooth extracted. Dr. Yamaguchi did an amazing job. I felt zero pain and he was amazingly gentle. Never have I had a tooth extraction go so smoothly and effortlessly. Appreciate being able to get in on an emergency and have the treatment that I needed. Big thank you to Dr Yamaguchi and his staff. The hygienist was great. I was speaking to Dr. Yamaguchi about possibly needing a crown replacement in the future when a pushy assistant interrupted us. The doctor vanished, the hygienist was gone and the assistant started interrogating me. She completely disregarded my feelings, my opinion, my time, and made a snarky remark about my not wanting to have a fluoride treatment.
I got out of the chair and said I had to leave at that point. She then let me to the front and made a big deal to the receptionist about how I was waiting on future work. Mind you, I have NO current issues. I have excellent home care. This office is always pushing you to have work done when it isn't needed.

I have been going here for 40 years! The Dentists and hygienists are skilled and friendly. Good with kids, too! March 2021 - just had my teeth cleaned and I was impressed with the cleanliness and careful sanitation according to CDC guidelines! Love the new expanded office! March 2022 - Just had my teeth cleaned by Beth and she is very knowledgeable. Good advice on my home care and explaining why it is important to replace crowns that are starting to decay underneath.

I have always been happy with this dental establishment. The office staff is always helpful and Garrett is easy to talk to and always gentle and caring with the work that has to be performed. I have been going to this family dentistry office for over 30 years. Gordon, the dad was awesome and Garrett has filled his shoes well.

Yamaguchi Family Dentistry is a great practice. I have been a patient here for 10 years after my other dentist retired. I have had a range of procedures - check-ups, fillings to replace old Army dental work, crowns, and now an implant. In all cases my treatment has been comfortable, safe, and given with compassion. All patients - children, young adults, adults, and seniors like me are given respectful, positive attention.
Another great thing is that this practice uses the latest technology, which means procedures move along as quickly as possible, which also increases the comfort of patients. From the great office staff, to the doctors, hygienists and assistants, this is a great family-oriented practice. I highly recommend them to you.

I just finished my final appointment to have my last filling done. This is literally the best dentist I have ever been to and I've been to at least 10 different offices in my lifetime. Every single person is very professional/caring and kind. I trust every person in this establishment to help me keep my smile nice for life. **Unless I end up moving out of state for some reason, this will be the dentist I go to for the rest of my life! The best dentist I've ever been to! I mean it! I hadn't been to the dentist in years after moving to Washington state and I was anxious and nervous. I didn't know what to expect mostly scared at what they would think of my neglect to my dental care. Dr. Yamaguchi & staff are all super nice sweet friendly quick efficient informative they are non judgmental and make you feel at ease! I can now smile confidently and my mouth is getting healthier everyday!

In early 2020 I signed up for new dental insurance and had to locate a new dentist. I'm new to the area and located Yamaguchi Family Dentistry on my own. My appointment was postponed due to Covid-19. I recently had my preliminary appointment and want to praise the entire staff at Yamaguchi Family Dentistry. The protocols for COVID compliance were very thorough and I highly recommend this practice. The entire experience was extremely pleasant and I highly recommend Yamaguchi Family Dentistry.

Nothing but great things to say about this family owned practice. The staff is always nice and friendly when I come in for my scheduled cleaning. Sierra the dental hygienists is very professional and helps answer any questions I may have. The Dr.'s are great and very welcoming and are always willing to walk me through explaining things if need be.
The pricing is very reasonable with my insurance. At this time I switched onto my husbands insurance and I'm sad to find out they aren't in the network. Hopefully soon I can change that later on and one day I can take my son in for his first cleaning with them!

We've been going here for many many years, and I mean "We" ( myself, my spouse, both of my parents, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, and our nephew). Excellent, competent, knowledgeable service in a Great family environment, Father, Mother, Son, and Daughters Family Business (there's even a daughter-in-law and her father in dentistry).
These folks know what they're doing and how to do it. Highly recommend this locally owned family business for virtually all your dental needs. We've had regular cleanings, TMJ, fluoride treatments, fillings, crowns, root canals, and now implants performed here. Even though this is a Dentist's Office, this is a 'Feel Good' place, they make you comfortable, treat you with respect, and are careful to listen to your concerns. It's obvious they want to help You.

Excellent, professional, competent friendly service. I just went to Yamaguchi Family Dentistry for a check-up and cleaning. The hygienist was top notch. She did a good job, explained things as she went and was very knowledgeable and articulate. She gave me good feedback on my home care and then gave me one thing to work on, which was perfect for me as sometimes I come away with so many things that are bad that it's overwhelming and I don't know where to start and then I don't do anything. With one thing to work on, I can focus on that.and I'm actually doing it! Thanks Dr. Y and staff.

A friend recommended Yamaguchi and I've been super happy with them! Everyone has been friendly and nice and they actually take the time to educate you about your teeth! I have yet to have any cavities, so my cleanings are easy and simple. My husband went here after over 10 years of not seeing a dentist and left without any problems or extra recommendations, so you can trust they are not just trying to sell you on procedures you don't need. Great place!

My partner has been a patient here for basically her entire life (29 years) and both her parents go here. Many of my co-workers go here. Everybody loves this place. I love how high tech it is - you should see the computer systems they use to keep photos and xrays of your teeth! And you can compare them side by side to see any changes over the years.
They are a mom and pop place, so sometimes things fall through the cracks (it took months for them to contact my former dentist to get my previous xrays), but they have always made good on it. Sometimes their communication isn't great, but again, they always figure it out. They didn't realize on my scheduling first visit upon returning to the area that I needed xrays, so I had to schedule another appointment and come back.
I love the hygienists I have met. The older Dr. Yamaguchi talks a mile a minute, and has very brilliant insights, so bring a pen and paper to scribble away so you remember what to do later. Overall, a great dentist.
