Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Many root canal procedures can be done the same day as the consultation/evaluation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

I was referred here for a root canal after my general dentist was unable to complete it. I was having major anxiety. Brian, was able to get me an ice pack to calm myself down. He was very sweet, professional, and personable. Dr. Setlock performed my root canal and I was so scared he wasn't going to be able to do it because my canal was so small. He did it and I was so relieved. This was my first root canal and it was painless. The shots hurt, threw out a few F bombs, but that's about it.

Many times what most people need is not a brilliant mind but a kind heart that listens. And most people dread medical professionals, particularly dentists and endodontists, because no one looks forward to teeth being pulled much less have a root canal. This was the easiest experience I could ask for maybe because I have a high threshold for pain and partly attributed to being numb for hours after my procedure.

Everyone is so wonderful here from check in to after care check ups to ensure your well-being. So grateful my dentist referred me to them. I love they discuss costs with you before you undergo a consult and it's not surprise. And if a procedure is required, they talk options and provide guidance of the best one for you. Dr. Khalifa is incredible and not enough words to praise him.

He's thoughtful, patient, an expert in both human relationships and teeth mechanics. He's calming during a stressful procedure and yet he injects humor and tidbits so it's not overwhelming. My nurse was extremely kind and sweet too but I can't remember her name. While I don't want to make it a habit to see this office, I highly recommend them if you need to see a specialist. Kindness is more than just deeds.

It is attitude. It is facial expression. It is words of comfort. It is tone of voice. Kindness is anything that lifts another person. Dr. Khalifa and his team are not short of kindness. Thank YOU!

I absolutely love Dr Khalifa! I recommended looking up his credentials, awards, and education; he absolutely knows what he's doing. I've had issues with my tooth for a year and no one could give me a solid answer. Dr Khalifa had one within 30 minutes of my appointment time and explained it so well. I love the conservative approach he took towards saving my tooth instead of jumping to a major and costly procedure for something that couldn't be guaranteed to fix my tooth. Rachel, the assistant, was amazing and friendly.

She made me feel at ease during the entire procedure. I'm a gagger when it comes to X-rays but she was so gentle and slow that I didn't have any issues. The front desk were so helpful with my insurance questions and as well as being kind when my general dentist didn't send over my referral. Overall a great experience!

Zero class or professionalism. The front office staff are Not professional, and lack effective communication. There is one woman, whom I believe is the office manager, shakes her her No to every single question. It's terrible. Waited over an hour for an appointment and they said I was an emergency- never communicated that to me. They absolutely could not give me a time frame from the 2:00 appointment they made for me. Another lady waited almost two hours. Mgr said I could wait for more than three hours. absolutely not acceptable- I walked out. I do NOT recommend!

Doctor was fine. Just be wary of the unbelievably rude front office staff and gross waiting area. Don't waste any of your time here, find someplace more professional.

Dr Kahlifa was able to get me in last minute. I was in excruciating pain. Same day, he completed a double root canal. I wouldn't have survived the weekend if they weren't so accommodating. I'm eternally grateful for how sweet the staff was in getting me in and making sure I was taken care of. The procedure itself was painless! Dr Kahlifa made sure that I was comfortable right after he did the hot and cold tests by numbing me up. To top it off, the building had a great view of the mountains. Thank you very much to you and your team, Dr. Kahlifa.

I cannot say enough about the experience I had at Canyon Ridge Endodontics. I had been having dental pain which just did not seem to improve on its own. My amazing general dentist suggested that I go to see Dr. Gus Khalifa at Canyon Ridge and I called to make an appointment. From the moment I spoke with the scheduler to the end of my appointment it was nothing but smooth sailing.

They were very thorough in explaining the procedure of the day and also gave a breakdown of what my charges would be upfront. They also told me that there would be an initial consultation and then time would already be set aside that same day to go forth with any further procedures such as a root canal if needed. I was so pleasantly surprised because usually we have to make appointments separate from the initial consultation and I didn't think I would have time for that.

From the moment I arrived at the office and sat in the chair till the moment I was back in my car post root canal I had spent about an hour and 15 minutes. Dr. Khalifa was incredibly thorough and professional and walked me through even the sounds I would hear during the procedure so that I wasn't alarmed! Route canals have most definitely changed over the years!

It was literally painless and extremely easy. The instructions for post procedure care were clear and easy to follow. I was very comforted by him as well as his skilled assistant Gianna. I am no stranger to the dentist chair unfortunately and I can say this was one of the best experiences in a dental office I have had! if I ever needed to have an endodontic procedure again there would be no question that I would choose Canyon Ridge Endodontics. I am going to be recommending Dr. Khalifa and his colleagues and practice to everyone. I am so grateful for their time and their kindness.

I was referred to Canyon Ridge Endodontics and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lamont and could not be any happier! Dental work gives me tons of anxiety, however Dr. Lamont & his entire team made my experience so easy, pain free, and fast. Their team was very helpful right when I stepped in their door at the Carefree location. I'm so thankful for Canyon Ridge Endodontics, for Dr. Lamont & his kindhearted staff! Thank you again for the wonderful experience! I hope to never see y'all again lol however if I ever need serious dental work done, Canyon Ridge WILL be the only place I go.

Unfortunately I have had two root canal procedures this year, which sucks for me. At this point in my life my first priority in choosing a business is how close it is to my house. Canyon Ridge has an office in Tramanto, off Carefree Hwy. Another in Desert Ridge and I think Scottsdale as well. My first root canal was problematic for me post procedure. Dr. Setlock gave me his cell and told me to check in the next day (a Saturday).

I texted him and he called me for more specifics. He told me if I didn't improve he would go in and see me on the weekend. Luckily things got better but his level of care and concern was exceptional. Today terrible tooth pain. Called in and I was in the office at DR in an hour. Dr Setlock determined another root canal needed on a different tooth. Figured they would schedule me in a couple days after the weekend.

Why these things happen to me on Fridays I don't know. But he said no we are going to do it immediately so I didn't suffer while watching the Masters this weekend. Their office staff is really nice and the hygienists are really professional and friendly. Their equipment is state of the art. A root canal is not something anyone looks forward to, but this is a really good practice and I definitely would recommend Dr Setlock

Two weeks ago, after being referred to Canyon Ridge Endodontics by my general dentist, I had a root canal procedure done on an upper back molar. I would like to thank Dr. Setlock and staff for taking such wonderful care of me. I can highly recommend Dr. Setlock should you find yourself in need of an endodontist. He is a very skilled practitioner and his calm, caring manner puts you at ease right away. My tooth is now feeling great!

My first root canal, I was scared to death. Dr Helvey and his assistant Tina were so kind. They explained every single detail and they even let me take something for anxiety. I hope I never have to go back but if I do this is where I will go and I am very confident I can do it without medication. Beautiful, clean office with all the newest equipment. They are the best.

Dr. Setlock and Desiree are top notch. I fell and needed two root canals on my two front teeth. I've seen Dr. Setlock before. He took the time to explain everything and all of my options. I was so scared and shaken up from my fall. Desiree and Dr. Setlock saved the day. Me visit was pain free. They are so warm and caring. They turned my bad situation into a good one.

Big smiles here. This practice is the best I've worked with and been treated by. I tell everyone I know that needs a professional amazing endodontist to go to Canyon Ridge Endodontics

The first experience I had at this office was great. The second time was terrible. I had an extraction that did not heal properly. At 1 week post op I scheduled an appt with the surgeon bc I knew something wasn't right. I am a nurse so I have some medical knowledge. When I went in, I was scolded by an assistant for "looking at the site" bc I don't know what's normal.

She continued to tell me that shes "guessing there isn't a problem and that he will send me home without treatment." The surgeon ended up prescribing me a steroid in hopes of treating my "secondary inflammation". My tooth was better for a week and then I started having significant pain. I called and spoke to someone from the office about my pain level and my unpleasant experience at the last appt.

She was lovely but nothing came of it. A few days later, on the weekend, I called the doctor on call and requested an antibiotic as I was still using pain meds around the clock and had an ice pack on my face throughout the day. The doctor ordered me an antibiotic without hesitation and that's when I got some relief. At my regularly scheduled appt at approx 5 weeks out, I went in, got an x-ray and was told by another assistant that everything looked good.

I asked if I was seeing the surgeon and she told me no. I'm shocked that knowing all the issues I've had and knowing how unhappy I have been, that it wasn't important for him to see me himself. So here I am weeks out from extraction and I still having a gaping hole in my gums. Again, I am told this is normal. It's time to move on.

I got a root canal from Brandi Molina at this location. Dentists and Endodontists have been struggling to figure out my problem for years. It wasn't easy, but she didn't give up after a lot of testing and figured it out. I had to get a root canal from her, and she was fantastic. It was virtually painless, and 10 hours later I feel no pain.

That means she did a really exceptional job because pain after a root canal is almost a given. She must have been so precise in her work she didn't enflame other nerves and root canals usually do. Before the treatment I took a ton of painkillers.today I took one dose of ibuprofen before the procedure and NOTHING after. Absolutely stellar work, 5 stars isn't enough.

Where to start. I am a dentist myself so when I started having sensitivity I knew I was going to need a root canal. I contacted Dr. Kalifa about doing the procedure and scheduled the appointment. The experience couldn't have been better. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and the procedure was absolutely pain-free. I've have had haircuts that were more painful than this root canal treatment. I wholeheartedly recommend Canyon Ridge Endodontics and will definitely be sending more patients their way.

Best dentist ever! Had to have an emergency root canal. Office staff accommodated my schedule and fit me right in. Dr Gus was fantastic absolutely no pain or discomfort even 24 hours later. They know how to turn an anxiety driven procedure into a tolerable day. Thanks

This is a tough review to write because Dr. Zachs did a good job on my tooth extraction, despite the fact that I ended up with dry socket and was in extreme pain for 2-3 days (most likely my own fault!), but my problem here is/was with the front office staff. When weighing the decision to have a tooth pulled v. pulled and implanted, the cost was a factor.

I was quoted, after insurance, approximately $350.00 for the extraction alone, or close to $700.00 for extraction and implant. Because it was my last molar, I opted for extraction only, paid my portion and had the tooth removed. Approximately 1 month after the procedure, I received a bill for an additional $340.00. During my investigation, I learned (through written confirmation from my insurance carrier) that CRE submitted the wrong codes to my insurance company for the quote, resulting in uncovered procedure components.

Long story short, while attempting to work through this with my insurance company, AND having notified CRE that I was challenging the amount my insurance paid and was working on the matter, they went ahead and turned my account over to collections. I can forgive their error, as insurance companies are not easy to deal with, but I cannot forgive them not allowing me sufficient time to work through THEIR error, before sending the account to collection. I pay my bills.

Highly recommend Dr. Setlock if you need a root canal. Dr. Setlock walked me through the entire procedure and provided updates at each step. Zero pain during or following the procedure. His group has three office locations in and around Scottsdale, go see him!

I should first say that I am a recently-retired dentist who knows maybe a little more than something about dental offices and dentistry. Not wanting to jump on a plane, fly back to Ohio, and see an endodontist colleague of mine back there, I was referred to this office. I must say I was impressed by the professionalism and the state-of-the-art treatment that I received by Dr. Gus Khalifa.

His calm reassuring, friendly demeanor combined with the efficiency of his treatment left me leaving the office feeling" Wow, that wasn't bad at all!" Highly recommended!

The Endodontics was great. He was friendly and thorough. The front office is terrible. They are rude. I went there twice for a root canal. Both times they billed my insurance and I paid the difference. When I asked about setting up a payment plan the lady gave me grief stating they usually don't do payment plans for that amount. When the letters came in from my insurance it looks as though I have over paid.

I called them for a refund and was told "we cant take write offs from a primary and secondary insurance we would go out of business". Now keep in mind they are in network with both insurance companies. I should be refunded the balance I was over paid. At this point my insurance company can handle dealing with this office on my behalf. I would never go back no matter how great the doctor was. Looks like they need a course in customer service.

Awful! They did a root canal and because I came back with a problem 7 months later instead of 6 months they charged me $100 just to look at it and tell me nothing was wrong. The office staff didn't mention the fee at all when I made the appointment or else I would have thought twice before driving out there. Very unprofessional to not stand behind your work barely over 6 months later.
