Really glad I chose them, this will be my new dentist. Very friendly and professional staff, they got me in right away, did a thorough exam and cleaning and there were no strings attached to the "first exam and cleaning for $49 deal" they have. The staff and good music made the dentist chair more than bearable!

This was my first visit to Dr Bender and it was the experience I have ever had to the dentist. From walking in and meeting Amanda to meeting Julie and Lisa. I have not met Dr Bender yet because I have to return again but I am sure he will be just as caring and wonderful as his staff. I would recommend Dr Bender to anyone looking for the most caring dental experience they have ever had.

I could not be happier or more satisfied with this Dentist and the staff. Initially I left a message to let them know I had a broken tooth. I received a call back during the holiday weekend. I made the mistake of asking them if they take the state's insurance because I was on Medicaid. So the staff member assumed that I worked for the state and had their insurance.
When I got there we all realized that I had Medicaid and then it was discovered that Medicaid doesn't cover any dental at all in the state of Illinois. But instead of turning me away while I was at the office the nurse there could plainly see the pain on my face, and she asked me to come in and have a seat. It was then explain to me that they have an emergency policy and are willing to take a look and see what the problem is.
They took an x-ray and the nurse at the doctor would see me shortly. When Dr Bender came to see me he explained to me that I had a massive infection in my jaw and a broken wisdom tooth that was causing this, he asked me to promise to come back as a patient, and if I did make this promise, he would not charge me for this visit because he knew that I was out of a job.
The time it took and the time that the staff and the doctor devoted to me as well as all the tools that they used in order to just point out what the issues are made me feel extraordinary, the kindness and decency that this doctor and his staff showed me one my loyalty and my appreciation. I will continue to go to this dentist until he or I retire.

I strongly urge anyone looking for a dentist to NOT go here. I had a situation about 5 years ago where they gave me an estimate on all the work they were about to perform. I agreed to the estimate and had the work done by them. Well when I was done getting my teeth worked on, the bill was right around $1,200 more than what the estimate was. I confronted the then employee who made the estimate that I felt totally blindsided by the updated price.
She explained it and said "sorry for the confusion" but still charged me the full amount. And what could I do, they performed the service. So now fast forward to 3 weeks ago. I went in for a sensitive lower molar. They told me there was a crack in the molar so they would advise getting a crown done. I had a broken crown right above that so I agreed to redo both crowns.
So that day after them just looking at my teeth, I go to make my appointment for the procedure and they charged me that day for the work they will be doing. I thought this was strange to pay for a procedure before it is performed, but they said that was their new policy so I foolishly paid it in full. $720. I came back 4 days later and had the teeth ground down to be prepped for the crowns.
I was then given temporary crowns with a completely numb mouth. I was told to not chew anything on my right side for 2 weeks, until the crowns came in. Well after several days (after the numbing went away) I noticed that when I would chew or clinch my teeth, I could feel some nerve pain. I had an appointment set up for 4:30 on a Wednesday. I got a phone call from Erika Tuesday morning confirming my 4:30 appointment and I confirmed with her that I would be there. 2 hours later I received a text asking if I would be able to show up a little early for my appointment.
I responded with I will try to get there a little sooner. Erika then follows that up with if you can't get here by 4:00 then it's going to have to be rescheduled for the following Monday. I told her that I could not do Monday and that I have already paid for a service and that my tooth is in discomfort so I will see you when I get there.
The next morning I get a text from Erika once again explaining that I need to get there earlier, now it's by 3:30. What happened to 4:00? I told her that I can not miss any more work and I would do my best to get there by 4:00. She then called me and said there was nothing that could be done. She then said that Dr. Bender was needing to leave by 3:45.
So exactly how would even 3:30 have worked when she told me it would take him 45 minutes to install my crowns? I then proceeded to tell her that Monday wasn't going to work for me because I was having a heart procedure done on Monday. She then follows it up with telling me that surgeries for the heart require a dentists approval. I told her I had a heart procedure back in May and they didn't require anything from my dentist.
Her exact response, and take it as you will, "Well, we'll see". So I told her I wanted my crowns and a refund for the installation of the crowns and she said, "absolutely not! It doesn't work that way!" So now I decided to just take my crowns and now I have to find a different dentist to install them. I have a huge problem with paying for a service before you get the service done! This is what happens. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE! Dishonest, Dishonest, Dishonest!

After 2 separate occasions when they were not prepared for my appointment, I finally cancelled all services. They had already charged my CareCredit account for services I had NOT received and did not cancel the transaction. I have had to file a dispute with the credit company to get my money back. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE UNPROFESSIONALISM AND NOT REFUNDING MY MONEY.

I used to like this place, but I am currently waiting to hear back about a refund. They have told me twice that they will call me back. They have not. I was told at the end of May that a refund check would be sent to me. I had a filling done back in May and I paid the amount they estimated I would owe. Got the bill from the insurance and I should have only paid half the amount that was estimated.
No big deal. I called and was told my card would be refunded or a check would be sent. Two months later- Nothing! The sad part is this is not the first time this has happened. Back in 2016 I had to have a filling and the same thing happened. Same amount of money stolen from me because they claimed the insurance would not pay as much as they actually did.
They even went after my dad for money for my account. I have dental insurance and my cleanings are fully covered. My dad was told I had an outstanding balance. First, I am a grown adult. They should not be telling my dad anything. Second, I never received a bill in the mail and they have never charged me for dental cleanings in the 5 years I have had my own insurance. I am going to call tomorrow and give them another chance to make this right. As of now they have overcharged me about $130 over the past 2 years and I am not happy about it.

I was looking for a new dentist and chose Bender Dental because of the good reviews and I was extremely happy with my choice. I was told by another dentist that I was in need of two very expensive root canals and Dr. Bender was confident that he was able to avoid the root canals which saved me a lot of money. The staff was very pleasant, they were able to answer any of my questions or concerns, they took care of all the coverage inquiries and dealt with billing both insurance companies.
They were easily able to work with my schedule and were considerate enough to call me one day that the doctor was running a little bit behind which was a big problem I had with my previous dentist. After 25 years of seeing the same dentist I was very pleased with my choice to switch to Dr. Bender.

I was a first time patient, assistant took xrays, bender came in and never even said hello, never introduced himself, never even asked me how was doing, nothing! Look at xrays, said I need a root canal on a tooth that was not hurting me, when I said I would wait until it started bothering me he got all huffy and cut me off in mid sentence. This man was the complete opposite of his video were he says he likes to take time with his patients and explain everything. So if you want a dentist with this kind of disposition hes your man. Me, i never went back.

I became a patient at Bender Dental Care in November 2017. My previous dentist had passed away a few years ago and I "dragged my feet" to Dr Bender when it became apparent that I had no choice. I'm a big chicken when it comes to dental procedures. I needed a lot of work done as it turns out. I found Dr Bender to be very professional and compassionate.
I also found that Ben, dental hygienist to be the same. Educatational. Financing, they worked with us. Office staff very friendly. The waiting area is comfortable with complimentary beverages. If you are afraid to go to new dentist like I was, I recommend.

My family and I have gone to Dr. Bender for years. The entire staff is fantastic, they make the whole experience stress free. Scheduling is simple and accurate (after going to doctors whose staff don't seem to understand that my time is important too, this is the highest praise I can give - Dr. Bender and his staff run on time and estimate how long something will take accurately).
I never feel rushed through the office, but I don't feel like I ever wait either. But aside from the amazing staff running his office, Dr. Bender himself is wonderful. He takes the time with every patient to make sure everything is done correctly. And as I don't like Novocain he's willing to try without it (and patient enough to use it I if I change my mind). I've recommended Dr. Bender to friends and relatives.

I have been going to Dr. Bender for a little over a year now and I could not be happier. His staff is always welcoming and Dr. Bender truly cares about his patients. I originally went in with a cracked tooth and some very old fillings that needed to be replaced and I now go for my 6 monthly cleanings and preventative care. Brandy is one of the dental hygienists and she is great.
She makes a somewhat unenjoyable experience much more tolerable! She is so personable and always makes me feel comfortable. My husband is now going to Dr. Bender and our kids will soon be seeing him as well.

My first experience here was okay. I had the hygienist do the cleaning and x-ray. The hygienist was rough with the cleaning of my teeth and I left with my gums in pain and kept going at it even after I notified him about the pain. At that time I had dental insurance and still had to still had to pay their $30 fee. I was cool with this, it's just $30.
Six months later, I came for my second dental and x-ray check-up.again the hygienist was rough with the cleaning and made my gums sore. I was expecting to pay out of pocket again since my dental insurance did not cover my first check-up. However, this time, I did not have insurance and had to pay $274 out of pocket! Usually, when a company or any sort of business delivers a service, they let you know how much it will cost before you accept such service. Nope, not these folks. I paid for their over-priced service and cancelled my next check-up. I will NEVER come here again and DO NOT recommend this dental place to anyone based on my experience.

I've been going to Dr. Bender since I was a child and I can honestly say they are the best. The hygienists are super nice & show genuine interest in your life since your last visit. The women who run the front of the office are awesome too, answering any questions I've ever had relating to insurance or upcoming procedures I would get. Dr. Bender is very nice, had a clean practice and it appears he is an excellent employer. Keep up the good work everyone!
