When I first brought my son to see Dr. Hillman he was just 1 year old. I was smitten with her personality and level of care, and her staff is just as amazing. Her new patient appointment/tour is a great idea to get children comfortable in the office and with her. My son is very shy and home with a stay at home parent. I was concerned like most parents to take their child into the doctors and how he would react.
Yes he cried, yes he wailed, yes he kicked, but everyone was understanding, remained calm and gave constant positive reassurance. They really wanted him to gain confidence and independence. Leaving, I had a 'it's too good to be true' feeling and truthfully was expecting the 'other shoe to drop' next time we went and reserved a Yelp review until I had enough visits and experience to give. Well, I am in no way disappointed.
Each visit is just as wonderful as the last and they are helping my son with his independence everytime. We are lucky that we've not had to do any extensive or complicated dental work, but I wouldn't be afraid if we needed to. I still continue to take my son with her and my next son will see her soon too.

If your looking for a WONDERFUL Dental Experience for your Children, this is the place. Unbelievably friendly, calming, clean, educated and kind. Bonnie K. Hillman D.D.S., and her Staff made our experience both relaxing and treated us like family. I adore this Dentist and her Staff. Thank you Bonnie and Staff for making my boys unafraid and comfortable. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Wish I read her reviews before our visit there! First and last experience for us! We got an experience with her for my 4 year old daughter, we all felt very uncomfortable with her! Somebody also mentioned in his review that she is weird, I think I agree with him. She didn't let us to watch our daughter, she even asked me not to hold my 4 year old daughter's hand in her first dentist experience for basic check up. I would definitely suggest to stay away, we all deserve better!

She is not accommodating even with children with learning disabilities. She would not allow me to come back to stay with our son during his visits. The last appointment he got really scared and she sent him to the lobby without even getting me to try talk to him. She pulled me in her office and asked about his medical background. They already knew his history and disabilities.
She basically said that I needed to take him to a psychiatrist to have him examined. After talking to our son outside the office I asked him why he wouldn't let her clean his teeth and he said because he "was scared and wanted me in the room". I called and left a message about what he said and they never called me back. I would not recommend this dentist especially if your has disabilities.

We love Dr Hillman! She's been our daughters dentist since she 12 months old and now our son who is 4 also loves going to dentist. You always hear horror stories of kids dreading the dentist not ours. I love the fact that they can both go in on their own and be big kids and have the dentist exam them and clean them without the clinging to mom like at the doctors office.

Avoid. She lies. She's weird. She violated my personal privacy by sharing medical information with the public. She offers discounts to people to write good reviews. A few on here she has even wrote herself. There are good dentists in the area. No reason to risk it. My kids refuse to go. She does not allow parents to leave the waiting area. Hopefully she reads these reviews and changes her policy but even if she does I'll never go back. Horrible dentist, horrible woman.

I have been bringing my kids to Dr. Hillman's office for nearly 13 years. It's been a great experience to have my kids know "Dr. Bonnie" since their pediatric dental exams and now in their teens they are so comfortable going in for their exams. Dr. Hillman has never suggested any dental procedures that were not absolutely necessary. The murals in her office are a great way for small patients to become distracted from their fears and start their exams with a giggle.

I am SO, SO glad I found Dr. Hillman! I was not satisfied with my girls' previous dentist at all.it always seemed too awkward talking to him, sitting and waiting in his office, etc. My 7 year old daughter had fallen at school and chipped her front tooth and I thought this would be a good time to switch dentists. I called Dr. Hillman's office and they were able to take us in right away!
She fixed up my daughter's tooth in less than an hour and she was back at school the next day. Dr. Hillman has always been so great with my girls (now, 8 y/o and 4 y/o). When my youngest started seeing her at 3 years old, she was still very wary and cried once she went back to the chair, but Dr. Hillman worked her magic and my daughter was fine when she came back out.
It only took another visit (6 months in between) for my youngest to feel completely comfortable and now both girls head right back to the room with smiles on their faces, and they come back with smiles on their faces. Dr. Hillman always comes back out with the girls and tells me in detail what she did and what to expect (like when she fixed my daughter's chipped tooth, what I needed to look for, she told me the process in which she fixed it, etc). It's evident that this is Dr. Hillman's calling. She's more than qualified and she a perfect fit for our needs. She has certainly earned my loyalty and I'm so thankful to know that my daughters are in good hands.

I have taken my 3 year old son here 3 times. 2 were just check-ups and one was a teeth cleaning. They have a little area for him to play in the waiting room but we have never had to wait more then a few minutes. The entire staff is always super friendly. Each appt. they ease him into everything so he doesn't get scared which makes him actually look forward to going to see the dentist.

Horrible! I was told I COULD NOT go back with my FOUR year old for his second visit for a check up xray. He went the first time by himself for cleaning and was SCREAMING the most terrified scream. I was in tears. I could hear him and yelled out (Bc the front desk lady and the dentist is the team so it leaves the front desk empty) "why is he screaming?
What is he so upset by?" Instead of answering my question, they ignored me. First the front desk lady came out and said "he's fine" to which I quickly said, "obviously he's not! Why is he crying?!" She then went and got the dentist who came out and tried the "fine" crap again and smiling. I finally got out of her that he was scared of the water thing for rinsing. So, back at second visit and before we even get in the building he is SCREAMING and terrified.
Which is very abnormal for him. This kid loves EVERYONE and loves talking. We get inside and I'm trying to be positive still (but worrying why he's so scared when I've told him they aren't using the water hint or cleaning his teeth). Inside I ask him "want me to go with you?" He doesn't want to go at all, but agrees to go if I go wth him.
I get to the door to walk through and the front desk lady stand in front of me and says I can't go back. I tell her that's ridiculous and she gets dentist. Dentist comes out and says I must have done something to him to make him scared (seriously?! Why would I want my kid scared?!). Then she proceeds to tell me I can't come in. It's their "policy" so they can develop "trust" with him.
I told her she's stil a stranger to him and he's FOUR. He doesn't need to develo trust with her. And the fact that I can't even WALK back there to see the room makes me think other things are going on back there that are sketch. When I said that she started shutting the door and said "maybe this office isn't for you" and was ticked off. We left obviously. DO NOT GO HERE. Anyone that separates you from your child Bc of a "policy" is definitely doing something sketch.

My son had severe trauma to his teeth at school which resulted in him losing one and chipping another. She saw him immediately and referred him to a kind, experienced oral surgeon. She told him personal stories to bond with him and explained in detail to me what had occurred at his first appointment which his dad had taken him to. She told me many options for my son.
She is a wonderful dentist. My son had been afraid of the several dentists before her and I'm grateful to have her for the years ahead taking care of his dental issues until he is an adult and can have a permanent solution.

I took my daughter to Bonnie and my experience was the worst. First of all she put braces on my daughter when she was in 4th grade and of course her wisdom teeth grew out sideways and now I have to start the whole process over. Bonnie is the professional she should have known my daughter was too young. To top it off she never gave her a retainer or after treatment plan. All my kids were scared of her and said she was painful. I will never take my child to her again.
