My main roles in the office are to provide our patients with gum disease treatment, routine cleaning, and placing sealants for children. I have worked as a hygienist since 1991 and have been happily working with our dental team since 2001. I feel very satisfied to know that I am helping to improve our patients' smiles and their health by providing high quality dental care.
You and your family can take advantage of a full range of dental services here at Dental Associates of Cedar Rapids. During each visit, you will be treated by trained professionals who will provide top quality care to prevent dental problems and treat current conditions. It is important to brush your teeth at least twice daily to help remove plaque and food particles that get stuck to your teeth. It is recommended that you brush your teeth for two minutes (or longer), though most people rush through this time.

In my 20's, I had an absolutely horrific dental experience at a different provider in the area -- so bad that I never wanted to go in for any dental work again. Of course, that means that by my mid-30's, I was in need of quite a bit of work. Dr. Besler and her staff have worked on getting my dental health into much better shape over the past several years.
She is very attentive to pain management during all procedures, checking on me to make sure I'm not in pain at each stage of work. If it's ever questionable, she is very willing to reapply anesthetic, for which I am grateful! I couldn't be happier with the care I have received from her and all the staff members at her practice. I hope to continue to rely upon them for my dental care indefinitely!

I really enjoyed Dr. Besler's staff. But, the Dr. herself not as much. My new dentist has had to fix many mistakes that were made. And I always felt like she was not letting me explain the pain that she was causing. She once took a tooth out that she thought may or may not need a root canal and once she got the tooth out and bruised the heck out my face decided she could not finish. It was late at night and could not get me back in to the other dentist that did the root canal for 5 days! It was terrible pain!

I didn't enjoy my visits here. I always felt like Dr Besler was talking over me and never to me. I recently switched dentists and they found one of the cavities I had filled at Dental Associates was cracked and had to be repaired. On top of that, I was always told that I had new teeth "at risk" after every cleaning. The visits with my new dentists have revealed nothing but healthy teeth. I'm glad I switched providers. I do think the hygienic and front desk staff is friendly here, however.

Going to the dentist has never been a very good experience for me. In fact I quit going for about 2 years. Decided it was time to find a new dentist that would fit my needs. My sister (Beth) highly recommended Dr. Karen Besler, so I made an appointment to see her. What a world of difference Dr. Besler has made in my life. Her whole persona is so unique.
I've never had a dentist that is so gental, kind, and understanding. When she works in your mouth it is with great percision and accuracy. She is a perfectionist when it comes to doing her job. Everything has to be just right. No rushing you through and if you have questions she takes the time to listen and explain things to you. From my dental hygienist (Jerri) I learned that I had periodontal disease.
It was pretty bad when she first started treating me for it. But with her diligence and skillful hands I am doing so much better. I've gotten to know the whole staff at Dental Associates of Cedar Rapids. In fact to me Dr. Besler, Jerri, Carla, Jan, and Jill all seem like an extended family to me. So if anyone is looking for a new Dentist don't hesitate. You'll not find a better one than Dr. Besler. Mary Anne

I am very fortunate to work with the wonderful staff at Dental Associates of Cedar Rapids. They are truly a family and help one another succeed. They care about the patients and strive to make it the best dental experience possible. Dr. Besler only does the best work- work that everyone can be proud of. I have not only found a great place to work, but a wonderful dentist that I can trust for mine and my families dental needs.

I have to add to my already rave reviews of Dr. Karen Besler and her team. I had an unfortunate incident which impacted 4 of my teeth--two front teeth a few days ago. In my absolute panic, Dental Associates of Cedar Rapids went above and beyond as usual. Reassuring, efficient and above all else professionals. Within 24 hours I had a temporary tooth put in, a fill for one chipped tooth and appointment with a specialist thanks to their referral.
The permanent replacement was some of the best cosmetic work I've ever witnessed. I cannot thank Karen and her amazing staff enough for giving me back my smile. I sing their praises to anyone willing to listen and am continually amazed by their work and positive spirit. Thank you, thank you to the moon and back. Previous review: Dr. Besler and her team are incredible.

I adore all of their enthusiasm not only for the industry, but support and pride they have in their roles. They truly are a family dynamic and I'm amazed at their professionalism combined with one on one attention. I don't have kids but this feels like an absolute comfortable place to start kids early for cleanings, yet as an adult I don't feel out of place. Well done and you have a patient for life!

Our entire family switched to Dr. Besler a little over a year ago. We have been very pleased with her expertise and professionalism. And, her staff is wonderful! We actually look forward to going to the dentist! They offer all the services our family needs and are committed to ensuring we are happy and healthy. I highly recommend Dr. Besler!
