My family has been coming here for years. Dr. Ray and Dr. Lee are fantastic. Also his team are very helpful. Recently Dr. Ray helped me with an insurance claim after an implant which was very kind. You can rest assured that this office has your best interests in mind. They listen to you and are respectful of any concerns you might have. I think this office is even better than when I first came here in the early 2000s Keep up the great work!

We have been going to see Dr. Ray for years and have lately seen a progressive decline in the level of care and customer service, but we kept our business there because we liked Dr. Ray. However, today was just too much. I called to reschedule a cleaning appt. When I was told there would be a fee because I waited to within 24 hours of the appointment, I explained that I had been dealing with a death in the family, that my mother had passed away and I just could not miss any more work and that the time had just gotten away from me.
There was no response of any compassion or willingness to make an exception because of my loss. I was just told that they would put a note in my file, but they had called 2 days ago, and I should have called back earlier. I will pay the cancellation fee, but in the process they did lose a very long term client.

Most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. I'm sure they are providing their own reviews because if you do a little research you can see this is not a good place to get work done. I would never recommend this place. Not only were they rude to me, they refused to refund a senior whose insurance HAD PAID the bill. The amount was over $350 dollars.
Instead they offered for her to have work done there for that amount. I've found another dentist, another customer switched due to the front staff, yet another will not return due to some additional fees, and the senior has also found another practitioner. Several others have complained. Check yelp and other sources. This is not only a rude and unprofessional practice, but after reading the reviews I'm suspecting they aren't as open minded regarding various races.
I'd be afraid to have anyone here work on me. They have also charged several clients outrageous fees to cancel an appointment within a cancellation allowance period among other inexcusable business behavior. Think Twice. Do your research.

I was with this dentist for many years due to the excellent hygienist(who quit last year). The front desk are staff here are arrogant and they don't apologize if they are late, but they charge if you show up late even with a valid reason. The equipment is also antiquated and they don't have a proper system to analyze the history to predict the issues. You are better of with a location with latest equipment and a dentist who will take care of patients.

I have been with this practice since we moved to the Ashburn area many years ago. I love one of the hygienist because of her professional behavior and consistent care. At today's appointment I was kept waiting 20 minuets past my appointment time, I ask to reschedule as I realized there would not be enough time before my next commitment. The receptionist refused to reschedule my appointment before she had a chance to speak to Dr. Ray because he might want to charge me for this appointment.
Let me think, this practice has no respect for my time and then on top of that they are going to charge me for a missed appointment! Bad customer service and unprofessional front desk help. Time to move on to another practice as sad as I am to leave the great hygienist!

I have been a patient with Ronald Ray for more than 10 years and I could not believe how they treated me today. All I can conclude is that these guys don't have any common sense and don't know how to treat their patients. Here's what happened: I had an appointment at 10.20 am and got there on time. I waited till 10.37 am and told the receptionist that I had to be out of dentist by 11.15 am, and if the hygienist is running late, we will likely have to reschedule.
The receptionist tried to talk to the hygienist but could not interrupt her - and that's totally understandable. Another hygienist offered to start the paperwork but he could not commit to getting me done by 11.15 am. Then the receptionist offered to reschedule 3.30 pm on the same day and we agreed to do that since it would be too rush to try to get out by 11.15 am.
And I thought all was good. Then I got a called at 12.45 pm from Ronald Ray's office and was told the following: 1. I cannot see my regular hygienist anymore and when asked why - the receptionist said that the hygienist was frazzled with what happened this morning. I said I did not understand why that would be the case as this is a scheduling issue.
I had no interaction with my regular hygienist in the morning. 2. Because I had a confirmed appointment and that we didn't go through with it, they are going to bill me $50 for it. I argued that didn't make any sense when (a) the hygienist was running late and I had a hard deadline and (b) they offered to reschedule to the afternoon. I asked the receptionist if all this makes sense for her and how she would feel if she was in my position - her answer was it didn't matter what her position was and that this was Ronald Ray's decision.
I asked if Ronald Ray is aware of the entire situation and she said yes. I asked to make appointment to meet with Ronald Ray and she said they don't do that. I then told her that all these do not make sense and I have been a patient for more than 10 years and my entire family goes there. Given this incident, we will not be coming back to this practice - and her response was, that's up to you.
I have to say this is extremely disappointing and appalled by how they treat their patients especially when I have been there for over 10 years. I do understand they do sometimes run behind but I have a hard deadline today, and they offered and agreed to reschedule. I recently had Zoom and I am so pleased with my results! I had an excellent experience as this is the first time I have ever had it done. My teeth have been discolored all my life and was nervous that the darker spots would not whiten. My teeth are now several shades whiter and although they are still discolored, it is much more blended. Also, the 2 assistants took great care of me and did an awesome job explaining everything.

Dr. Ray recently did some extractions for my father who had gum disease. Even though my father doesn't like going to the dentist in general, he was pleased with Dr. Ray and the time he took to explain the required plan for treatment and preventive care. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Ray for almost 10 years and glad he's taking such good care of my father now. thank you Dr. Ray!

Ignore patient's request; all they care about was to get you spend more $$$. I was conscious about total treatment cost; don't want to spend $1,000 for a small tooth chip repair even with insurance. As soon as I asked about cost estimates, you can tell staff lost interest and become very rude. There has to be other dentists in the area with better ethics. Go somewhere else.

I've been going to Dr Ray's for a little over a year. Can't begin to explain how impressed I am with this team. I work in a customer service industry and I can tell you babies cry when they are hungry, gassy, sleepy, but go unheard when happy. The fact this team has gotten soo many positive reviews on yelp acts to illustrate their wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and customer care.
That having been said, my very last piece of dental work will be completed today. Appears a crown we planned to use temporary adhesive on has fallen out as expected. No concerns there. Yet again, still couldnt be more impressed as Dr Navar has requested to see me same day to finalize the procedure. Going to miss everyone across the board as I will be moving out of the area soon. (Is Richmond to Ashburn too far of a commute for Dental?)

Haven't been in a while and needed to be seen immediately for severe tooth pain. While waiting overheard the doctor in the next room talking about me and laughing. He thought only doctors who perform surgery are doctors. Well I still am called a doctor and may not perform surgeries, but I treat people using just my hands and have prevented numerous surgeries.
He was unable to make an accurate Dx on my tooth got frustrated that I was not a textbook case, which if you are in healthcare sometimes you have to think outside the box because not everyone presents the same. He then brought in his associate left the room and never came back. I got referred out to an amazing dentist and specialist! If you are in healthcare and an educated female stay away! Not the place for you! Felt very disrespected.

So sorry to say we'll be leaving his practice. He over charged me (and admitted to it) and now won't returns the additional funds. When I told him I wasn't ready to do an elective procedure (that costs $1200) and needed addtitional time, he basically told me to never come back. Sorry to have to leave a negative review.

If you want service that keeps you waiting in the chair without a word for 30 minutes, go here. If you want to be repeatedly swapped between dentists and hygienists without an explanation, go here. If you would like to be annoyed with multiple appt confirmation calls rather than one advising you to let them know if a change is necessary like other medical professionals, go here. If you like dealing with new office staff every time you visit, go here. Poor patient focus is common here.

I've been a patient here for nearly 15 years. Overall, I've received great care and feel they are thorough and considerate. Regular cleanings are almost always pleasant; they are fast and I've only waited for a dentist following cleanings a handful of times over the years. I highly recommend requesting Drs. Ray and Ponchione for an exam if they are available.
I find both of them to be highly knowledgable and easy to talk with. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and are great about looking up insurance inquiries and quotes for procedures. They'll call you to confirm and reschedule appointments as well. My only negative note would be related to a root canal procedure I had performed about a year ago by Dr. Navar.
I wasn't as impressed with her bedside manner as I have been with both Dr. Ray and Dr. Ponchione. I expressed concern several times of a loose tooth feeling, and called during off hours over pain issues and a potential infection. Both times, Dr. Navar seemed to brush off my concerns. I just didn't feel she was genuine or able to communicate effectively with me.

The hell experiences! If you never experience tooth pain that causes to have severe headache and you could eat nor sleep for 10 days, go for it! I was asked to do filling for my teeth and the dentist who performed the procedure was inexperience. My face was swollen and could eat anything for 10 days. I had to take pain killer every few hours; otherwise I would have severe tooth pain and headache.
I scheduled to meet Ray, the owner. He was late for 20 minutes and lectured for another 15 minutes before seeing my teeth and examed my teeth for 5 minutes. The result of his exam was that he did not know what went wrong. By this time, the associate spent all my insurance copay and I experienced the dental care from hell. I later on went to a good dentist in McLean to fix up the problem. However, I had to spend a few thousand dollars from my package since there is nothing left for the insurance to cover for the damages. AWEFUL Dental company!

I am so mad and upset about how they lied and mistreat me as a patient all they want is a money not care about me as a person or patient! Plus the front desk NEVER care of you and so FAKE! Lots of new doc and NOT real care it's all FAKE! So be ware if you like two faces they are the one but if you looking for real care PLEASE go some where else! I NEVER get bad treatment like them before all they want is to get as much money as they can with out care for your well being! They are so FAKE even they smile!
