Irvine Dental Group - Don Niu

Dr. Niu is a great Dr. i had my wisdom tooth extracted by him and it was the best extraction i ever had. The recovery was paint less and he called me to check on me after the extraction which not a lot of dentist do! Thank you Dr. Niu!

Staff is great, the fron desk girl was very welcoming and friendly and so were the assistants, they deserve the stars. I waited over 45 minutes after my xray and when the doctor still didn't show up I had to go look for help and then back to my chair again. I was already leaving when the doctor arrived and when I explained that unfortunately I couldn't stay longer he said that it would take just 5 minutes. So I basically spent over an hour there waiting for him to show up and say that my consultation would be less than 5 minutes. So, nope.

May 23, 2021 - I had a regular dental cleaning done here a few days ago. There wasn't a big expectation for a routine procedure of this kind. But interestingly to my surprise it made a significant difference. It cleared up a problem that had bothered me for a long time. It was a weird uncomfortable feeling constantly felt on my left cheek. It had been like that for a few years.

I had dental cleaning done a few times over the years before starting here, but they didn't help for the weird feeling problem. I'm so happy that it's cleared up now. Since I started coming here last year Dr. Niu's team did a lot for me, including fillings, extractions, a surgery and the recent cleaning. I also got quite a few helpful consultations. The team did a great job each time and I am expecting a lot more in the future.

I've been coming to this practice for years, but unfortunately I will no longer. The wait times were horrible and I waited for 1 hr in a chair in the back before the doctor even came. This I can understand if it was a busy day. However, after giving me the numbing agent for my filling, the doctor left again and when he came back I was no longer numb before he started drilling.

In addition, doctor was really rough and cursory with the job as well. My jaw was completely sore after the filling! I felt completely disappointed with my service. Only up side was a really nice assistant.

I've had nothing but great experiences at this dental office. Dr. Niu and his staff are professional and being in the medical industry myself, I can tell they follow strict protocols when it comes to sterilization. That is of upmost importance to me, especially as I take my two young children here for their dental care as well.

Prior to your appointment, you get a friendly personal call and email reminder about your upcoming visit. When you come to their clean and spacious office, you are greeted by a professional and caring staff. I had teeth implants done and felt a little anxious about the procedure. Dr. Niu is so good at what he does and very thorough, which gave me comfort.

I got a follow-up call after each procedure to check how I was doing, which I really appreciated. I am glad to say that the entire process went very well. Irvine Dental Group was also quick and responsive in implementing extra health and safety measures in response to the Covid19 pandemic. I felt reassured going back to complete my appointment. I couldn't be happier and satisfied with my experience. Thank you!

What's the worst nightmare you can have when visiting a dental office is - a bad job done that caused you still painful few years later. Apparently not only me, few years ago my wife had the work done there, too. And she's been in pain for few days after the visit, anther few days later she flossed some kind of thread out of her teeth. So we all switch to another dentist, but as of today, I'm still having the problematic legacy pain from IDG. I'll call it fair if I can give them 0 star.

This is by far the nicest friendliest de.tist in town. Dr. Niu and staff are a total life saver to the dental world. Hands down.

Great group of hygienists and dentists. Been going regularly for 2-3 years now including one filling and chipped tooth repair. Prices are reasonable and cleanings are great.

Irvine dental group used to be my favorite place because of how well they clean my teeth and the service that was provided. My insurance covered teeth cleaning here, so there was no out of my pocket cost for me, and I liked them so much I recommended my parents go there for teeth cleaning. They do not have insurance and wanted to pay out of pocket to get their teeth cleaned and examined.

When my father went in for his examination and cleaning the doctor informed him that he would have to redo his root canal that would cost $1,300 and they would require a specialist to cost an additional $1,200 for that person to come for a total of $2,500. They didn't provide my dad cheaper options and made him feel that his teeth was in dire conditions if he didn't get it corrected quickly.

Before my dad would go ahead and proceed with such an expensive procedure he wanted to get a second opinion on the matter and he was told it was unnecessary. I'm extremely disappointed and disheartened that there would be so much up selling at a location I had trusted over the years for people without dental insurance.

I have been going to this office for more than 5 years. For the first few years, I had all kinds of problems with my teeth here and there. Dr. Niu addressed the issues one by one. For now, all I need to do is regular cleaning twice a year. Dr. Niu is very patient to explain what issue you have, how to fix it and the material/price related questions. By the way, the office has a modern-looking, is clean and cozy. The staffs are friendly and patient.

I have been with Irvine dental group for 3 and half years now. Dr. Niu and Dr. Yuen are very knowledgable and professional. And they are both perfectionists. The quality of the service they offer is superb. My Invisalign result turned out to be really good. All the staff members are patient and nice. If you are in Irvine and surrounding areas, this is definitely the dental clinic you should go to. They really do take care of you well.

Do not go there! I just finished my teeth deep clean there. I will tell your guys how terrible the service is. I made an appointment at 9am on Friday. When I make this appointment I asked the receptionist could it be later in the morning like 9:30 am or 10 am. They told me 9:00am is the only available time that day. So I took the time and arrived on time.

But I was notified that the doctor would be late for 20 minutes. It was not a big deal for me, so I sat there until Dr. Niu came in. The process was good until Dr. Niu suddenly leave during cleaning my teeth without any explanation. I took anesthesia since the operation would cause some pain. The thing is Dr. Niu left for 30 minutes and kept me waiting there with my half cleaned teeth and numb face.

Just because a new patient came in and he probably was a frequent visitor. The new patient got treatment first while I waiting alone there. When Dr. Niu came back, I already felt the effectiveness of my anesthesia decreased. So I can felt a little pain when he finished the left of my teeth. It totally took my 3 hours to finish an one and a half treatment.

Do go there is you are a new patient or an international student, since they know you won't be a frequent visitor in the future, so they won't treat you like a real patient. 99109available time 20 2 1~

My family have been patients at Irvine Dental Group for about 25 years, which pretty much says it all. Even when I've moved, I've always made an effort to come back and have my dental work done here. I simply could not imagine going elsewhere. They have always done excellent work from basic cleanings to oral surgery. Never a problem and always amazed.

The new office is both state of the art and aesthetically pleasing. Office staff are very friendly and always make sure the experience is seamless. I could not say enough positive things about Irvine Dental Group. I highly recommend this establishment with absolute confidence.

I am a grad student at UCI, and I go to Irvine Dental Group because it is 5 minutes away from my home and they accept my insurance. There are a lot of fake reviews of dentists here on Yelp, but this is an actual review. Look at my other reviews. I have been here several times for cleanings, fillings, deep cleanings, root canal, and most recently a dental implant.

One of my molars was cracked down to the root and my options were to have a bridge or get an implant. I decided to go for the most expensive option because I wanted something more permanent and low maintenance. It was expensive. For the extraction, titanium implant, and bone graft, I paid a bit over $2000. The actual tooth part will cost another $1000.

You might see ads in the paper for implants that cost $1000. That is the cost for just the implant, not the extraction, graft, and tooth. Also, Dr. Niu is an implant specialist. I could tell he is very skilled at what he does. It is an uncomfortable procedure, but Dr. Niu was very aware of my pain level and used more licocaine when I needed it. They have a mini-surgery suite with modern equipment, so I felt safe getting major work done here.

I have been coming to Dr. Niu since i was little from teeth cleaning to wisdom teeth extraction. Recently I also had a crown and gum graft surgery due to a basketball injury. Dr. Niu is aways very informative and explains every steps of the way in detail. Highly recommended.

I have been in twice for cleanings and Dr Niu and the hygienists Lauren and Jeri have been excellent. The previous Irvine dental practice I went to was horrible, painful and made me scared of dentists. My friend recommended Dr Niu because she has been going to him for 20 years and he's gentle despite the major tooth issues she's had. The two cleanings I had in the past year were the most comfortable and pain-free cleanings ever.

All three of the staff members had excellent bedside manner, so to speak. They were very friendly and sensitive to if I ever felt uncomfortable. They repeatedly checked in to make sure I was comfortable and not feeling any pain. I will definitely stick with this practice. An added bonus is that the facilities are swanky, modern, and with all new equipment.

Dr. Niu is very knowledgeable and experienced. I had a couple crowns done and he was straight forward with costs. His prices are expensive. I would recommend them for dental work.

I used to come here as a kid as well and had Dr. Niu and utilized the other former dentists (Dr. Chen) and orthodontists (Dr. Sy) BTW neither are there anymore. Apparently he was well known with all the families at the local Mandarin school. Had an overall good experience there, staff was professional and I didn't have cavities for the longest time.

But then moved away and went to college and completely forgot about my tooth care. And then moved back after I got a job with great benefits and got insurance but sadly Irvine Dental wasn't covered by my HMO and let me tell you finding a good dentist is HARD. Luckily my work recently changed to Pacificare (read my review shudder) and as I was looking for a new dentist since my other HMO dentist sucked and was always trying to sell me things not on my HMO plan, I decided to go back to Irvine Dental. Dr. Niu wasn't available to HMO clients so I got Dr. Guang and he does a great job and their staff is great too.

The rooms are clean and you don't feel so claustrophobic as I did with the other dentist's office I used to go to. Only bummer for you fellow HMO folks, he comes in only once a week so booking an appointment may take a month.
