David Son

This is a long overdue review for Dr. Son and his team at Biodental Solutions in Irvine: I became a patient of Dr. Son in May 2021 after a referral from my naturopathic doctor. I was experiencing pain in the front area of my lower jaw and after reviewing my 3d x-ray, it turnt out that I had a severe infection in my jaw bone around two teeth that were previously treated with root canals.

After the first shock of realizing I need something done, I was very glad to find myself in the caring hands of Dr. Son, who was able to guide me through all my different options and I eventually decided to get two teeth removed and two zirconia implants placed. The whole process from the first surgery until (removal of teeth) to the final placement of the crowns took almost 10months.

But I'm so glad I did it. Dr. Son is a wonderful dentist. I always felt like he had my best interest in mind, which is also why he split the surgery in two appointments (he wasn't able to place the implants right away, due to significant bone loss in my jaw). The procedures were also almost completely free of pain and discomfort. I would feel an occasional pinching here and there, but the moment it happened Dr.

Son immediately asked for my well being and numbed the teeth even more. My final crowns were placed about 3 weeks ago. I actually had to come several times for this appointment, because the color of the crowns wasn't perfect at first. But again, Dr. Son did not want to place something in my mouth that he was not 100% confident in. Again, I can tell he really cared and wanted to make sure I'm happy with the result!

Dr. Son is the best dentist you will find. He is very knowledgeable & gentle. I know I am receiving the best care coming to him. Terry is wonderful too. She always works hard to get you in when it's urgent. We are fortunate to have such a fantastic biological dentist in the area!

I love Dr. Son, Terry and his staff so much. Dr. Son is an amazing person and dentist. He is full of life, compassion, and knowledge. I love his holistic approach to dentistry. He took my own stem cells and used them during my surgical procedure to increase my healing process. I told him I have chronic allergies. He did everything in is power to make sure I was comfortable He goes the extra mile to make sure his patients feels valued and taking care of.

The most frustrating consultation. First of all.the reviews on the office Manager Terry being rude and condescending is an understatement! As for the visit. $710 for very limited oral exam, 4 bitewing X-rays, panoramic image and CT scan. The exam was mostly Dr Son going over why root canals are bad (thank you I know that), and muscle testing to confirm all root canal treated teeth need to come out, along with all my composite fillings because according to my pinky and middle finger test, they are not compatible with my body.

The most frustrating part is that all the images I took were not discussed. The doctor said he needs time to go over all the scans. That's fine, but now Terry is refusing to set up a phone consultation with me and Dr Son, and instead wants me to email any questions to her. Also, Terry said she could not give me my CT scan when I left the appt. as they did not have the capability.

A few days later when asked when I would receive the CT scan, Terry said I never asked for it at the appt., and as a courtesy she will mail it.not priority though. The text messages between Terry and myself just got worse from that point and left me with a total lack of confidence in this office.

I had some important dental work I needed to do and after researching several dentists known to be top experts in holistic dentistry, I chose Dr. David Son. Now that the work has been performed, I'm extremely glad I chose this practice. No patient is one size fits all and Dr. Son is an expert at tuning into the patient's needs and adapting what he does for the best outcome.

He's extremely careful and his bedside manner is absolutely outstanding. He only does the work that needs to be done and will tell you outright if you actually don't need work you thought you did -- which happened in my case. This is someone you can trust to not only do the right thing, but do it with the right materials that are bio-compatible, making sure they're a good fit for your body. Dr.

Dr. Son is the best of the best. If you have high standards for your health, then you've come to the right place. As a practitioner, he's very kind and gifted. Expect meticulous work with a caring attitude. Before I chose Dr. Son, I investigated 5 other dentists, researched their practice and sought first-hand feedback from prior patients.

Only after extensive research did I decide this was the office for me. I then drove from out of state to get my care. and I'm extremely happy with the results. They use ozone during procedures and ozonated water for recovery (similar feeling to hydrogen peroxide in the mouth). He has a WaterLase and Piezo instruments and uses state of the art CBCT scans to guide his work, looking at the images as he performs surgery, to make sure he's in the exact right spot. Having trained with Klinghardt in Switzerland, I knew I was getting the type of care that's on the leading edge of dentistry. Dr.

Son performed crucial surgery in my jawbone that has been a true game changer for me and I'm so glad I chose him. He made sure the local anesthesia was the right fit for me and uses state of the art tools to perform the painstakingly delicate work in the small areas in your mouth. He also bends over backwards to make sure you are safe and comfortable during surgery.

He accommodated me, for example, when I needed to swallow during the procedure and stopped to let me clear my throat, even if it meant temporarily removing the dam and replacing it several times. I'm truly grateful that such a caring and exacting dentist is out there and not only would I not hesitate to recommend him for your most important procedures, I will continue to drive from out of state to visit again and again. Thank you Dr. Son.

Dr Son is very good. But the receptionist is extremely rude and has no customer skills as pointed out by various people rating the practice. I don't know if Dr Son realizes that she has no people skills.

Dr. Son has been my dentist for several years now and I wouldn't go to anyone else, which is saying a lot, since I have a dentist in my family. Dr. Son is gentle, kind, a total perfectionist and to me his being a Naturopath is a definite bonus. It's great knowing he is informed and practices all the latest and safest procedures and techniques. I have referred family members and friends and they all love him.

Dr. Son is an extremely knowledgeable dentist and truly cares about his patients! Unfortunately, the office manager, Terry is very rude and even condescending! From my first call when I was looking for a new dentist she was very unkind and accused me of lying when I told her I left a message and that nobody had called me back. She also seemed to conveniently forget to advise me of extra fees until after I was billed.

The only reason I will not return to Dr. Son is due to the nasty office manager, Terry! How sad that one terrible person can keep people from going back to a great business. I wonder if Dr. Son realizes what a nasty person Terry is?

Wonderful experience, Very caring and knowledgeable staff. Dr. David Son and his staff are definitely our new Dentist!

Dr. Son is a knowledgeable and kind dentist, and Terry and the rest of the staff are also lovely! I love Dr. Son's approach to dentistry. It feels far more holistic and thorough than in my previous experience with previous dentists, and I am seeing better results.

Amazing place to take care of my dental needs for over 10 years. My teeth were beautifully aligned, removed wisdom teeth, cavity filled and regular cleaning. Getting older but I still have my teeth and looking better than 10 years ago.

Update: I was not upset because you don't accept instance. I'm upset because of the way you treat people.

I had a cleaning with April for the first time since the pandemic. I was very impressed with the safety features they have implemented. Definitely exceeded expectations. April is absolutely the best as is Dr Son.

April is hands down the best dental hygienist I have ever had! She literally will get every single corner of your teeth cleaned. My teeth are sparkling white right now and I'm so joyous I had to write a review! I hate going to the dentist so it's always scary for me but she makes you feel calm and safe somehow. She always has me laughing and feeling like I'm hanging out with a friend

This is the best dentist I have been to in OC! Thankful that I no longer have any metal in my mouth, and that my once loose lower teeth are secure - thanks to Dr Son and his awesome staff too. I rarely review anything, but I cant help but share the good news of this dentist!

Always have a great experience at Dr. Son's office. The staff truly care about your oral health and have given me a lot of great home care tips. They are very careful and thorough and can't recommend them highly enough.

I'm sure the Dentist is great per the reviews, but I called today to get some general information to see if I want to make a switch to this dentist office. For the record I was not just asking about fees (which yes she was very reluctant to share), but also just general information about products they use, what is included in an annual check up, etc.

Information that every other office I called was very happy to provide. The receptionist was very aggressive with me, very short, kept cutting me off, and ultimately told me that she can't spend time answering my questions because she has a patient she needs to deal with. No problem, I will not be making the switch as I have no interest in dealing with such a rude, unwelcoming, and uninformational business. Can't imagine what it's like once you're a patient trying to get billing sorted out with her.

Amazing! I was looking last year for a holistic minded dentist for major work on my teeth. After hours and hours of searching and speaking to offices mainly in LA, I found Dr Son. His prices were much better than the holistic dentists in LA and his attention to detail and kind heart put me at ease. I literally almost fell asleep while having a crown put in, it was that pleasant. (I used the gas and the mouth piece that rests gently to keep mouth open while they work and act as a suction.

It's a genius invention that I haven't seen at other offices I consulted with.) His office staff and assistants are top notch and the hygienist corrected me on several habits no other hygienist had addressed in detail which I know will save my teeth from future work. I suggest getting in with them before they become to hard to get a new patient appt. (That's what happened with my holistic Endocrinoligist;) Thanks Dr Son!

I can't speak for the skills of the dentist, but I can say that this dental office has no transparency when it comes to their fees. They will not give even a hint of what a basic extraction typically costs, or what the starting fees are for ozone and PRF, or anything else. I'm not asking for a quote for my own personal case, just an idea of the basics. I'm aware every patient has different needs, but to make me come in and pay $329 for an initial consultation before I am given any clue as to what their other fees might be is ridiculous. In my experience, this is how a business operates when they want to suck you in and get as much $$ out of you as they can.

I just had two crowns replaced this week by Dr Son. The experience was fantastic. The first appointment was completely painless, which is a MIRACLE when having dental treatment done! I had "temporary" crowns that were comfortable and functional that I wore for a little over two weeks. Then I went back for another appointment to have the real crowns put on.

Another painless appointment. (Thanks Dr Son!) My new crowns are gorgeous. They are beautiful and they feel like my teeth, a perfect fit! I can honestly say I love seeing my dentist! Dr Son is a ninja-master of dentistry and he does Biological treatment which is so much healthier for his patients. His staff are so friendly and professional, it's like visiting friends whenever I'm there. I recommend everyone I know to Dr Son!

Dr. Son has been taking care of my teeth for over 10 years, so it's crazy that I haven't sat down to write him and his staff a review. They are really amazing, he cares about my teeth and my safety and has been training and educating himself in natural and safe ways to take care of his patients. I always make an appointment and they are on time, smiling and ready to help me.

I think that the prices are good, I don't have dental insurance, so I pay out of my pocket and I'm happy with the service I receive vs. the price I pay. Thank you Dr. Son for keeping my smile beautiful!

We moved across country 2 years ago and I really wanted a homeopathic dentist, so any work and care would be done safely. Dr. David Son is the closest to that in our area. (He is a biological dentist.) You can tell that he really cares about his patients' health. He is gentle, efficient, and makes every attempt for work to be painless. He treats both myself and my 2 kids.

The front desk staff is super nice and helpful as well. They really take the time to explain the process and make sure you understand the procedure and costs involved. We love the hygienists as well. All super sweet and gentle. I love how they take the time to really explain to the kids (and give me an update) what's working and where there is room for improvement. Great experiences overall.

For 4 months, I have been struggling with an unknown facial infection. I couldn't open my mouth(max len. 2in) and my jaw on the right side swelled to the size of large strawberry. Since then, I've been to 6 other doctors and none of them could explain my condition nor prescribe me treatment. I've been on antibiotics and tried many options, but none of them were solutions.

Just three weeks ago, my dad did some searching and we found Dr. Son's office after getting a CT scan. I was diagnosed with actinomycosis. We heard about how the doctor uses ozone to treat various conditions, so we thought we'd give it a try. Amazingly enough, after just the second day, my swelling went down and I could open my mouth a little bit more.

After the fourth day I could open it up an inch and a half! If I were religious I'd say that this was a miracle. :) (Pictures separate from review) Additionally, the doctor's technique for injection was extremely painless. He numbs you up before treatment, but even the process of putting the needle in doesn't hurt at all. All in all, if it were possible I would give this place 5000/5. Friendly, caring staff, superb dentist, this place has it all. Anyone struggling with a case similar to mine should definitely check out David Son, DDS.

What will likely matter most to people, Dr. Son is the absolute best at making sure you feel ZERO pain. His numbing process is the equivalent of breathing. You just don't know when the process has started and then your gums are numb. Sounds to good to be true. That's the feeling I get every single time I go through the process. Dr. Son is very patient and genuinely gives off a positive comforting energy. I've been maybe 7 times and each time I leave grateful.

We have been going to this dentist for many years and have always had a great experience. They are professional and kind and always get the job done. The technicians are really gentle with your teeth and nice to talk with. We will be coming back!

First time I went there they were nice, but heavy up-sell on cosmetic dentistry. I went in for a cleaning and walked out with a 5k treatment plan and when do you want start and you can fiance it. The last time I checked with the office to make sure my new provider would cover them. Then they tell me we are not in your network, even though I asked, and then they got nasty and tried to blame us. Don't go there unless you want to be up-sold on cosmetic dentistry.
