Services
From routine cleanings and fillings to full mouth reconstructions, Dr. Ratliff is equipped to handle virtually all your cosmetic dentistry needs. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
Born and raised in Johnson City, Dr Ratliff graduated from ETSU with a degree in Biology. He then attended and received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He served in the US Navy for 3 years stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. With the Marines he served in Northern Iraq after Desert Storm.
It includes descriptions of our office location, including a map and directions, hours, appointment scheduling, insurance acceptance and billing policies. We know your time is valuable and we respect that by not double booking appointments. We kindly ask for a 48 hour notice if you desire to cancel or move your appointment.

This is a first class dentist office and employees are very professional. I find Dr. Ratliff to be patient and thorough, explaining anything you may wonder about during a procedure. I will definitely go back when I need a dentist again! Update: several appointments later still perfect. Additionally he did some needed repairs at much less than expected. How often do you hear that? Excellent staff!

What a fantastic dental office. I HATE to go to the dentist's. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Jennifer is fantastic. She knew I was a chicken and engaged me in conversation as I waited to decrease my anxiety. Everyone was gentle and professional. I had such a great experience, I may not wait 2 years to go back!

My wife and I moved to the area a year and a half ago. We had to find a local dentist. We are very grateful to have found Dr. Ratliff and Sunset Dental. The entire staff are so professional and competent. We have had a few visits each for routine cleanings and fillings. I had one crown replaced and Dr. Ratliff was thorough and as professional as you could hope for. We highly recommend their practice to anyone.

From the friendly staff from the time that I entered the building till the time that I left. The office was extremely clean. The dental hygienist and the provider Dr. Ratliff was very good at explaining to me the steps that they were going to take to fix my tooth. I had to have a small procedure done with local anesthetic and numbing medication with my jaw. I never even felt him at all with the injection. Very thorough with explanation and I'm highly pleased with the dental work that I received.

Best dentist I have ever been to. Efficient, respectful, and knowledgeable. I know that no matter what, crisis or cleaning, this entire office will get me what I need with smiles the entire way. Usually when you go to a dentist there's some anxiety around the trip. with this office, I'm comforted to know that I'm in good hands. 5000% would recommend.
