Dr. David H. Long, our practice CEO, has a great love for our patients and the dental profession. Dr. David began his career in 1987 with his associateship in a Galesburg practice. His first "owned & operated" clinic was in Kalamazoo, but shortly after purchasing Battle Creek Family Dentistry in 1990, Dr. David sold Kalamazoo to focus 100% on serving patients right here in our neighborhood. After 31 years practicing dentistry, Dr. David's career took a new trajectory when he became Battle Creek Family Dentistry's CEO.
There was a time not so long ago when people thought of medical doctors as health providers, and dentists as, well, dentists. Doctors diagnosed illnesses, attended to general health, delivered babies, and dealt with traumatic emergencies. Dentists fixed or pulled teeth and gave lectures about brushing and flossing.

New patient here. I was initially only going to them for a pre-surgical checkup and cleaning. Issues were found that could impact the surgery timeline. By the end of that day, I was impressed. After my appointment, the Dr immediately initiated contact with my surgeon to discuss a treatment plan that would be safe and efficient. I felt genuinely cared for and I know for a fact that my best physical health is at the forefront of the medical decisions.
I've had to postpone my surgery but I am glad that this is the office I went to. They now have a patient for life. Also, Rebecca was an absolute delight to meet and interact with, as well as the rest of the staff.

I only deducted one star because I don't think I'll ever be as happy as I was at my old dentist. Since retiring, I had to find a medicare dental provider. I've been using BC Family Dentistry for 5 years now. I've been very happy with the staff. And Rebecca, newest addition to the hygenist pool, is very pleasant and helpful.

Not only were they able to see me quickly when a problem developed, but treated me very kindly (I have a dental phobia) Everyone took the time to explain treatment options, terminology and payment options. I was very impressed with the staff. Thank-you so much for making a difficult appointment as painless as possible.

I had a good experience at this dentist office and would recommend them to others. The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable and friendly. Doctor also seemed friendly, although I wish he would've evaluated my teeth a little further as he was only in for a couple of minutes. He might have seen all he needed to by the X-rays and initial peek into my mouth though.
