They give that title DR. to alot of undeserving people. People that should not have the privilege nor honour of being able to put their nasty hands on others causing unnecessary problems in their lives by not knowing what their doing or just not giving a darn. Just looking for that almighty dollar bill. Kellyn needs to be ashamed of her self. Alot come there to show support and proud to see her there and her behavior as far as how she treats her clients is a complete let down.
Although Ive always behaved pleasantly toward Kellyn this Silly hung up the phone on me. Ive never in all my years had such an experience. Falls right into the Stereo Type makes u wanna Cry. They will jack up your mouth and cause life long problems with their disgusting hands. How sad!

I took my 9year old daughter here last week. The appointment process was easy and they worked with her school schedule. The front desk was awesome and pleasant to work with. We had about a ten minute wait before The tech took my girl for her xrays and everyone was talking to her and making her feel comfortable(so much so I myself am looking forward to going back) the doc came in and explained the need for braces and what kind of treatment plan was best.
We then met with Sondra, who went above and beyond. She verified our benefits and gave us pricing and explained the financing process(which is amazing and affordable!) overall 10 out of 10. We go for braces the beginning of July!

The best orthodontics, hands down. I swear, I have met the most amazing women in my entire life here! These ladies literally have made my entire braces experience the best I could ever ask for. From walking into the door, to sitting in the chair and getting my braces done for the day. They make you feel so comfortable, and I feel that I have made so many connections with all of the employees there! Thank you all for making my time here anxiety free I love you all

We heard about Kellyn Hodges from a radio commercial on 107.9 as soon as we came from a dentist appointment with a recommendation for braces. We called, & amazingly got an appointment for the next day. This office & female dominated staff are AMAZING! Very comfortable, covid safety compliant, bright colors, beautiful office decor, extremely clean, spacious, quick service but not rushed.
Very knowledgeable of their area of specialty, thorough explanation of their findings, very informative of potential medical coverage review and if needed a realistic payment plan just to name a few of the positives. My daughter, who came in for a consult only identified some of the same thoughts as well as: the great smell which didn't smell institutional, the kindness of the technicians, the eye contact that replaced the ability to see their smiles because of the masks, and the fact the entire staff is female made her want to be a patient here.
So SHE IS! My daughter being a young entrepreneur in a male dominated field of being a Pro DJ was very impressed seeing other females such as these women at Dr. Hodges office over achieving in a male dominated industry as well. The desire to patronize is automatic especially when all of the above mentioned positives are presented from the time you enter the door. Thanks Dr. Hodges and ALL of ladies in the office for offering superb service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Not recommended. Two experiences that sum up my experience: 1) I no longer have braces but I have a piece of braces wire lodged in my cheek that an oral surgeon didn't want to remove because it's too close to a nerve. Not only that, but the oral surgeon I saw is part of a dental practice owned by Dr. Hodges. Yet I had to pay and waste time out of my day to see him so he could (unsuccessfully) attempt to fix an issue caused by the practice's own negligence. 2) This is not a practice that knows how to work with adults.
At some point, they (incorrectly) assumed that I'm a tongue thruster and installed a tongue crib that left me unable to talk. After I went home and spent a couple days practicing talking with it, I called them and let them know that it needed to be removed because I had a client presentation coming up and needed to be able to talk. This was my only encounter with Dr. Hodges and boy was she condescending.
I was pretty much told that I wasn't being compliant with the treatment plan by asking them to remove it. Not sure how making a patient unable to talk could be considered a realistic treatment plan. This practice seemed unable to comprehend that I have work responsibilities that require me to be able to speak coherently. The VP of my department sure did when I had an extremely embarrassing meeting with her with the tongue crib in and she could barely understand me.
Their general expectation seems to be that you go in, say ahhh, then have them do whatever they feel like without explaining anything about your treatment. Not a very effective approach when working with adults. For my first 1.5 years, I had a random ortho each time. The guy I started seeing regularly would rush through the appointments and run out of the room without announcing he was leaving, not giving me a chance to ask questions or express concerns.
The only time he showed interest in my treatment was to check that the piece of braces wire lodged in my cheek had been removed (probably hoping that the evidence that this happened to me was gone). I realized just how bad this practice is when I got some second opinions on my teeth from two other practices after Dr. Hodges' practice told me it was time to have my braces taken off.
Both orthos took out the same model of the jaw + teeth, told me how my teeth should fall in place, told me that my teeth weren't falling into place yet, told me that I had about 3-4 months left of treatment, and showed me how my midline was misaligned. This was the most explanation of my treatment that I ever received in the three years I had braces.
One ortho told me that I should go back to Dr. Hodges' practice and find a polite way to get them to continue my treatment for longer. I decided to go ahead and have my braces taken off, knowing that my teeth weren't properly aligned, because I couldn't stand the visits anymore. Throughout my whole treatment, each visit consistently had a 40 minute wait time for a 15 minute appointment.
Huge waste of time. Prior to covid, the waiting room was always crammed with the TV blaring and had an overall chaotic vibe. Once covid started, it was still full! They would have you call from your car when you arrive, then immediately have you come up to sit in the full waiting room. Not a good look for healthcare providers who are working directly in patients' mouths. Overall, a disorganized practice where you're just a number in an overfilled waiting room. Prices aren't any cheaper than other practices so go elsewhere.

I have only good things to say about this place. The entire place is so beautiful and comfortable, sometimes they have amazingly scented candles burning. The staff is always friendly and everything is just made so easy when you're in there. At my first appointment I was evaluated by Dr. Hodges and everything was explained very clearly in regards to time frame, what would be done, and billing. They also gave a sweet little gift when my braces were taken off. I'm so glad I picked this orthodontist.

I go out of my way by about an hour, to come here instead of going to someone else. The staff is always helpful and a pleasure to work with, especially the front office Women. Amazing work, great communication and flexibility. Great price and payment plans available. All 3 of my sons go here and I would highly recommend them. Thanks!

I usually do not post. But today I experienced above and beyond. When a patient is not happy you are suppose to care and find out why. Don't just chalk it off to: oh well it is what it is. Today someone took the time to ask me what was wrong and how could they make it right Thank you for making me feel that my smile matters when I know their is way more important things going on in the world trust me. Thanks for caring To the entire staff

Usually doctors and dental appointments aren't things people look forward too, but I enjoyed every visit with this office! The staff is super friendly and always does what is in the best interest of the client. My mom brought me to Dr. Hodges when I was 9 years old for an expander, and came back on my own for my braces treatment 11 years later. They were always adamant about helping me and making sure that they followed up with the various insurance companies I dealt with during my treatment, to make sure they could minimize my out of pocket expenses; as well as ensuring my monthly payments weren't straining me financially because I'm a college student. I could not have asked for a better experience!

Both of my girls used the services of Dr. Hodges in different capacities and I have been so satisfied with both services. The staff is very nice and professional especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, they take all kinds of precautionary measures to ensure your safety and that of those around you. Had braces since November and no movement. Significant or otherwise. Was told a myriad of things at the beginning of this process that have not panned out thus far even though there have been multiple mishaps (COVID being the major one). I can't help but feel that I was told anything to secure my signature and monthly payment. The women at the office are nice though.
They are pleasant and the facility is clean. Necessary precautions have been taken in the wake of this pandemic and that I can appreciate. The lack of cohesive communication is something I am unhappy with. I basically have brackets on my teeth for show right now.

Really nice & friendly staff, clean & well organized. They even have coffee, cookies, cakes, hand sanitizers & a variety of lotion out by the front desk for guest which i feel is a plus. As far as payments from my experience it literally comes out the 1st every month & you get get charged late fees.

Dr. Hodges and her team, hands down, are absolutely amazing! The staff is very professional and informative yet warm and friendly. Thanks to them I now have a beautiful smile and a confidence that I was missing before. In a little over two years, Dr. Hodges was able to straighten my badly crooked teeth and give me a smile I have today. Just seeing. Dr. Hodges every visit would brighten my day; she's so elegant, highly knowledgable, and so pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Kellyn Hodges Orthodontics to anyone who is planning on getting braces! You will not regret it!

Ive had braces as a child. Each appt should not take 2 hours! We are almost done our treatment but if i had to do it again I wouldnt. They must overbook and corrale patients into the back waiting area, so as not to crowd the front waiting room. At my most recent visit (2hrs again) the girl at checkout was on the phone in midst of giving me the next appt.
I stood there waiting, over 5minutes, right in front of her, midtransaction!, she kept on the phone and i left. Um hello, arent you supposed to put the phone customer on hold and wait on the customer right in front of you?

Dr Hodges and Dr Woods are THE BEST! I had my braces on for a little over 2 years and I AM IN LOVEEEE with my teeth. I have to mention how anal Dr woods was when it came to how my teeth looked at the end.he made my teeth look PERFECT and I am not over exaggerating! I can't stop looking in the mirror. (I'm looking as I type this). They also made sure my braces were off just in time for graduation.
The price was reasonable, they were flexible and VERY professional. The dental assistants (I think that's what they're called) were also good as well. Chelsea took my braces off and she was just so sweet and patient with all of my questions! She was gentle and works very well. You go girl! Thanks to EVERYONE at the Belmont Ave location. I will send graduation pics! :)

I am so excited to have found this office! The team here is friendly and professional. Each time we have visited the office we have been greeted with a smile and had a short wait before being called in the back. One of my biggest pet peeves is when offices double/ triple book and you end up waiting forever just to be seen for a scheduled appointment.
I have not experienced any of that here. My kids both got braces in December and both were very nervous. The team took the time to explain what was going on at each step and constantly checked to make sure they were ok. Once the braces were on they were given a "swag bag" of dental goodies and told how and when to use each item. Great Attention to detail! Looking forward to many years of patronizing this business.

This orthodontist claims to offer you a "no strings" free consultation. Free means you don't pay and just get information right? Not at Dr. Hodges City Ave office! They will bring you in, show you a waiting area, show an exhibit of toothbrushes sitting on a sink and then take x-rays. Afterwards the "free consultation" is based on the $149.00 x-rays you took. After the consultation you will be taken to see the Office Manager who will kindly charge you for the x-rays. Don't fall for it! BUYER BEWARE!

I can't disagree with the previous reviewer more. This is for the Bala Cynwyd office anyway. The staff there are so friendly. You can tell they've been working there for a long time because they interacted so well with each other and all of the patients. I was excited to come for my monthly visits. Every one knew me and always seemed to remember what was going on in my life. I've been coming here since I was in junior high. I'm not going to say how long ago that was. Let's just say I've had a few 21st birthdays already. Anyway, with my crap luck I got my braces put on on Halloween day.
No candy for me that year. Well, that wasn't even the tough part. I had two go to their office like a week or two prior to put the spacers in. Now that's what hurt! These are tiny little rubber band like things used to put a space in between the molars so the bands can go on easily. Those spacers hurt for a few days as my teeth were moving.
I always got colored braces to match the outfit I was wearing that day. I had so much fun there. I couldn't be happier with my treatment! My teeth are straight as can be. As you can see from my other reviews I take my smile and my teeth very seriously. Dr. Kellyn Hodges couldn't come more highly recommended. Thanks mom and dad for paying for me to have my braces!

The office staff is not compassionate and only care about money. They are rude, inconsiderate and do not communicate. They act as though they hate their lives and their jobs. The only staff members that are nice are the poor techs that have to care for your teeth. I only met Dr. Hodges once which was during my consult. Do not go here or you will be treated like garbage!

I went to the Montgomeryville location starting 2001 and had my braces in for about 2 1/2 years. I had a slight underbite so basically she pulled my bottom teeth in to give me an overbite. In doing that, my bottom front and side gums receded a lot (I was not told that this would be a side effect). I had to get some bottom side teeth pulled (per Dr. Hodges) before getting the braces, so that's why the gums on the side receded.
During every visit, she always rushed through and never really told me what was going on. I guess since I was an adult and there wasn't a parent there asking questions, she didn't bother to tell me much. In retrospect, I should have asked more questions and done more research. The primary reasons that I went with Dr. Hodges were because she had good hours and was close by.
In retrospect, those weren't good reasons. I only had to get my braces adjusted once every few months, so it wouldn't be a big deal if I had to take off a few hours from work to get that done. And if I had to drive an hour or so, that's fine since it'd only be a few times a year. Dr. Hodges does dress and present herself in a professional manner, but that doesn't speak for her work. Had I known that my gums would have receded like this, I might not have gone through with the braces.
The orthodontists always make it out like if you don't get your underbite fixed you'll have a lot of problems later on. Yeah, an underbite is not ideal, but look at how many older people have slight underbites. I don't think most of them have any major dental issues. So instead of having an underbite, I now have receding gums to worry about. I've gone to a periodontist (gum specialist) and basically I'd need a gum graft which requires a few visits.
I don't know how Dr. Hodges is now, but back then it seemed like her office was a mill--get as many patients in and out as quickly as possible. Her prices were not that great back then--about average.
