My experience with Dr Cligher and his office manager (Dr Clighers wife) was not a good one! Ive never been treated so disrespectfully, with rude unprofessionalism as I was by Dr Cligher and his wife! (The rest of the staff were fine.) On my initial visit, I spoke to Mrs Cligher that my new dental plan would cover most of the extractions, crowns and dental implant work that I needed to have done.
But she didnt believe it and argued with me! Instead of calling my insurance company to confirm my dental coverage, she asked ME to call my insurance company to get their fee schedule! (Isnt that her job?!) But I did it anyway. My next appointment was four days later. I drive a half hour to their office for my appointment and check in. Mrs Cligher tells me that she got the fee schedule that I sent her and needed to talk to me.
She tells me that her husband prefers to have another dentist perform my implants even though he performs implants as well. She tells me if I choose to have Dr Cligher perform my implants he would charge me extra! Is that ethical?! She not only made me do her job for her, but she didnt have the courtesy to make a phone call to tell me all this because she was too busy?! A.
The nerve of her to argue with me about what i did extensive research on. B. To not even bother to verify my coverage with my insurance company. C. to ask ME to get the fee schedule from my insurance company! D. To not even have the COURTESY to call me that they dont want me as a patient and spare me the long drive to their office. The reason she gave me? "Well, I guess I should have but I was too busy!" If this is how they treat new patients? Or do they treat ALL of their patients this badly! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR! DONT GO HERE!

I live in the mountains of the Los Padres Forest where I see bears on a regular basis. Encino Dental is near my office so I made an appointment with Dr Cligher. I have not been to the dentist in many years because of fear. When I met Dr Cligher I told him I am more afraid of him than being face to face with a bear. He softly laughed and said he hadn't heard that one before. Dr Cligher is incredibly gentle in spirit and in his touch.
I was very impressed at how calm, patient and understanding he was. He did not rush me and although I won't say I am EXCITED about my next appointment, I am not terrified. I feel I am in good hands. The office and all equipment are very clean, the hygienists are very sweet and Liz in the front is just wonderful in every way. I couldn't have asked for more in my first timid step back in to taking care of my teeth. What an absolute blessing this office is.

As mentioned on my check-in, was quick and painless, very clean, new hygienist Lupita was awesome, everyone wore masks and gloves the whole time, there is hand sanitizer everywhere and office manager Liz was adamant about all patients coming in wearing their masks properly in the common area. Dr. Cligher is always friendly, professional and very efficient. He also clearly looks great in pink. Worth the drive from DTLA ( even when there was traffic).

The dentist and the techs are great but the office staff is rude. Liz his wife who runs the office is the ringleader of the bitchy office staff. The first time I went in she was so nice and warm, then they stopped calling to remind us of appointments and then would call angrily about missing an appointment. And once I came in they told me that they'd been calling us about a $90 bill, which I never received a call about, because I didn't have insurance for the last visit, but I did, they just neglected to submit it in the proper time to get paid.
And when I asked for a record of our work, it was literally like pulling teeth, no pun intended. And, yes there's more, I referred my cousin to them and she took her kids to see them, and the front office literally told them to SHUT UP, when they were away from their mother. They're terrible, they only have 3 reviews for a reason. Go somewhere else.

I highly recommend to anyone to get all dental issue with Dr. EDAWARD CALIGHER He is the most honest dentist, he is doing only what spouse to do! Not giving you prices out from space.very down to earth dentist that REALIY worth going to! You defenetliy going to love him: Me and all my family put our trust in his gentle hands!
