Dr. Paul is absolutely exceptional and the best dentist that I have ever had! I can't stand numbing shots for anything and Dr. Paul has given me several new crowns and replaced a very old crown that had broken (and the pain was truly minimal even with no numbing shot!) with the utmost ease, gentleness and thoroughness -- his hands are truly magical! I cannot recommend Dr. Paul enough -- I am delighted that he is my dentist (and only hope that he doesn't get too busy so that I can still see him!)

My wife has been a patient with Dr. Paul for a couple of years. She has had a hard time thru the years with other dentists and Dr. Paul has been a Godsend. He has been gentle and reassuring. He fixed her front teeth and my wife has gained her confidence back. Thank you, Dr. Paul, we will recommend you!

By far the best dentist office i have ever been to in my life Dr Mendes Sr and Jr did wonderful with making sure i had the best experience when i was there i have always been frightened of the dentist since a little girl do to bad experiences but for the first time in my life i would never be afraid to go back to this office everyone there is great very respectful the many fillings i had done was completely painless Dr Mendes Jr did fantastic with keeping you informed of what he is going to do and keep you comfortable i lost touch for 2 years with this office because i forgot the name and refused to go any other place but them looking high and low around my home for at least 1 business card to make a appointment because i have serious work i need done to my teeth and the only dentist i will ever trust with my teeth again after my trip there is Dr Mendes Jr and Sr finally after 2 years i just checked my email and got a happy birthday email from there office because my birthday was yesterday and that was truly the best gift i could have gotten for my birthday with all the work i need done to my teeth i will be happily making a appointment first thing in the morning and this time i will be sure to not forget to grab a few business cards to carry around in my wallet it i could i would rate there services 10 stars hands down Thanks to the entire Mendes office for the birthday wishes and for the wonderful painless work you have done in the past to my teeth see you all soon

They were able to accommodate us last minute and we're extremely kind and gentle with a sensitive twelve year old. Could not be happier.

Got 2 crowns & 1 filling over a 4 hr period with little to no discomfort. Resulting bite and proximity to other teeth were excellent. Rates were in line with those allowed by major insurers. Efficient, careful, & cordial service.

I'm so happy that I switched over to this dentist this year! It's a little far of a drive for me but totally worth it. I found this dentistry by word of mouth and decided to try it after looking at the reviews. I'm so glad that I did. The staff were so nice and helpful and the dental hygienist was great. I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth from having braces so there's always plaque build up and she got it all, my teeth are so clean!

After a bad experience at a different clinic, I asked a friend for a recommendation, and I am so glad I did. Everyone, including the receptionist, Dr. and his assistant were very professional and friendly. They were making conversation and asking questions to get to know me as their patient. I find it extremely important. Some clinics will not see you beyond just a patient.

I felt welcome and respected at their clinic. I am very scared of dental treatments and haven't done them in years. They were very understanding and not judging, in fact, they walked me through it and helped me relax. After the first evaluation appointment I knew I was in good hands, and I wasn't so scared of the treatment anymore. The Dr. was so assuring, he explained every step and explained exactly what he sees, etc.

His tone and attitude were so calming and respectful. I needed 3 fillings. The treatment was not painful at all, and no pain after either. This is the best I could expect. Service oriented, honest, respectful, professional. No long wait times and fair availability. Also- high plus to me as a germophobic (and COVID-phobic), is that they really practice good hygiene and sanitation. Would happily recommend this clinic and Dr. to anyone.

Best thing in 2020 was switching to this Dentist! The office staff are pleasant, courteous and made me feel welcomed. My office experience was enjoyable and they implemented great Covid-19 precautions during my visit. Both Dr. Paul and Charles Mendes are excellent Dentists, they work interchangeably with each other and took the time to explain every aspect of my visit to me, even following up after my visit to ensure I had no issues. I would highly recommend this dentist office if you live in the Saint Paul area and will be returning for all my future dental needs.

An honest dentist. After going to a Groupon dentist who gave me a free exam and said I needed $3500 or work (yeah, right!) I went back to Mendes Family Dentistry where I had been going for years. As I suspected, the Groupon dentist was trying to gouge me and Mendes told me things were fine. They've never done an unnecessary procedure on me and always do only what is necessary. I highly recommend this dentist for his integrity and the quality of his work.

I just went in on12/29/2020 & THEY WERE AMAZING! I am 22 and was uninsured for years. I finally got disconnected from my mom & got my own insurance this year, and I got through to Mendes. They did my first cleaning I've had in years. The nurse Micha was so funny and made me enjoy my cleaning. She asked me all types of questions about my travels. She put me at ease.

Then I saw Dr. Charles and he was the best, most kind hearted dentist I've ever seen in my life. Many dentists have been mean to me, especially with MN state insurance. He explained how I'm only cleaning 60% of the tooth if I don't floss and that's why I've ever had any cavities. He said if I clean my teeth then there's no "germs" to continue decay, so I'll never need another filling.

This was super helpful. He also got me a recommendation to get my wisdom teeth removed immediately. I have an appointment for April but I have a hole in my upper right one and he said it shouldn't wait that long. I am so grateful for them & their services. They really care about individual people and I highly recommend anyone see them.

I recently switched back to Mendes after being away from them for 15 years. I wish I hadn't waited so long to return. Charles Mendes is an outstanding dentist and the entire staff makes you feel like you're part of the family! The same receptionist is still there from 15 years ago! Great dentist and I would highly recommend.

I have been going to this dental office for over 30 years. I still see Dr. Charles Mendes for routine checkups, but I have also had work done by his son Dr. Paul Mendes. Both dentists are amazing! They communicate clearly and make sure you completely understand each procedure. I just had a root canal and I was dreading it, but Dr. Paul put me at. ease and checked to see how I was doing throughout the procedure. He told me it would take about 1-1/2 hours, but it only took 1 hour! I was so pleased with the result. I highly recommend these dentists.

Previously coming to Mendes Family Dentistry, I had a poor experience with a root canal which caused my tooth to look a little bit gray. Both Dr. Charles Mendes and Dr. Paul Mendes took every step to ensure that my tooth would be back to the way I wanted it to look. First, they encouraged but not solicited me on whitening my teeth. Next, they sent me to a specialist who specifically curated a color to match my tooth. Lastly, on the appointment day the process went quickly and I was in out with 3 crowns.

My tooth looks amazing, and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. They were flexible with me on times and able to complete this complex procedure in a month. I would definitely recommend Mendes Family Dentistry.

This family practice is nothing short of amazing. The entire staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment I made the appointment. I appreciate the diversity amongst the staff. The office manager Sharron is very inviting and kind. My hygienist was Mayka, punctual and sociable. Dr. Charles is a pleasant man. He took the time to explain all my options and the pro and cons of each to be sure I had a full understanding. I had an enjoyable experience with this team.

I was pleasantly pleased to get a call so soon after they were able to reopen. I got in, had a crown replaced, which had broken and was done. All in one day. Many thanks to all who make up Mendes dentistry, the staff and the hygienists and the dentists.

Dr. Mendes was the only dentist in the area to accept my Medicare to pay for cleanings, exams, etc. Great guy. Great service.

I found out about this dental clinic by word-of-mouth. I discovered that their recommendation was rock solid. Dr. Paul shows you on the monitor what dental work needs to be accomplished. I had a very decayed tooth that was in jeopardy of needing a root canal that two other former clinics missed. I received a couple of crowns that were formed with the natural grooves that my original tooth had.

The office and assistant personnel are patient and helpful. I really appreciated not having to experience a hard sell because that tends to diminish my level of trust. I am now a loyal patron and I know my husband will be on his way.

Dr. Charles Mendes has been my dentist for many years and I have always appreciated his good work. This year his son, Dr. Paul, did a excellent job putting in a permanent tooth for me. Sharon, Lee, Barb. Nancy who just retired, and the rest of the staff have always been professional, friendly and helpful.

I wouldn't go anywhere else for a crown. Dr. Mendez numbed the area well, talked me through the procedure, and was able to sculpt the crown right in the office. All in a single office visit. The crown feels great in my mouth. They even told me that I did a good job, which is funny cause all I did was sit there, but it made me feel good. I am so grateful. Well done.

Over the years I've had a fair amount of dental work done by various dentist. MFD leads the pack by a good margin. They're highly skilled, courteous, efficient, flexible, and take the time to explain what they're doing and why. They work with you to insure that you receive the best dental care possible.

I have been going to Dr Mendes for the past 8 years and he has provided excellent care. He has offered reasonable and thoughtful solutions and and is the ultimate professional. My husband is also a patient of Dr Paul and he recently had to have his front 4 teeth replaced. He was obviously nervous that his "new" teeth would look natural and even more important that they would feel natural.

We also were just getting ready to leave for vacation so needed the work done in a shortened time period. The office did a phenomenal job of reworking their schedule to accommodate us and followed up with the lab to make sure they would be ready on time. His new teeth are in and they are beautiful! Like his natural teeth only way better. And they fit perfectly. It so exceeded his expectations. We would both highly recommend Mendes Dental to anyone looking for great dental care!
