Services
Piper Pediatric Dentistry is designed specifically for kids, from the play room to the child-sized chairs. We have made every effort to make our office child-friendly to ensure that your little one has a pleasant experience. Dr. Piper also believes that parent's experience is also extremely important.
One of the main things that sets pediatric dentists apart is our extensive understanding of dental development and oral hygiene education starting at a very young age. We love seeing families with young children beginning at the first year of age! Yes, at age 1 there isn't too much to look at. Usually just a couple cute teeth in the front and lots of drooling.
Most of the time, we can make children comfortable during treatment by talking through the procedure in kid terms and working gently but quickly. Unfortunately, some children are either too young to understand or too afraid for our magic touch to work. This is one reason pediatric dentists spend an extra couple years at school!
We all want our children to have a beautiful smile! However, when cavities attack, the results can be unsightly. Whenever possible, we choose white composite fillings to restore cavities. With the latest in composite technologies the fillings disappear against the teeth leaving a amazingly esthetic result.

Such a good experience with Piper dentistry today! I was really unsure how my 2 year old would do, but our hygienist Danielle was beyond amazing and sweet with her, and Dr Piper was great as well. My daughter has been playing with her new toothbrush all day and pretending to brush my teeth. I don't think it will be hard to convince her to come back in 6 months

Piper Dentistry is located on the second floor of their offices in Barkley Village. I was greeted warmly by the staff in the stylishly decorated office and introduced to my hygienist, Amy, I believe. She was very nice, but as soon as we got in the chair for X-rays, the machine started going on the fritz, so we ended up having to move machines and start over.
Once these photos were done, I was then taken downstairs to their pediatric office for another kind of X-ray. Then when the look at my wisdom teeth was over, I was moved yet again to a new chair for my cleaning. The staff was great and my teeth were cleaned well, but as someone who is already stressed at the dentist, having to hike across the office several times and keep re-locating gets a bit unnerving after a while.
I do recommend this office as besides the moving, the dentist herself and all the hygienists were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions about my wisdom teeth to the best if their knowledge.

My children have been patients of Dr. Christopher Piper since they were toddlers. They are now 6 and 8 years old. They are covered under state insurance. In the last couple of years, I have noticed Dr. Piper and the staff have become quick, less patient, and passive. One of my children has special needs, and the attitude toward her care has always been rushed, sometimes incomplete, and little effort put into making her feel comfortable.
In the last year, multiple dental problems have arisen and my options for her care have been put aside or on hold. September 22, 2020, I was told that my oldest daughter was "cavity free, " and she is clearly not. I recently went for a second opinion on November 9, 2020, and my child needs one tooth removed, and the tooth with decay is so bad that it needs a pulp and crown. Dr. Piper has chosen to neglect her dental care instead of taking any time to address her dental needs appropriately.
I requested dental records, and with some attitude received them. To no surprise, the note says there is decay present. It also states to watch it due to age (8) size of decay, and cooperation. Dr. Piper has never once tried to address any dental work on my child. My point is to bring forward the obvious, Dr. Christopher Piper does not want to take the time to work with children with special needs or patients that are covered under State Dental Insurance. Dr. Piper portrays himself as an advocate for State Insurance, but he is genuinely ignoring the health of my child and God only knows how many more.

Our family recently started going to Piper Dentistry after we moved here from Oak Harbor and I honestly cannot say enough good things. They are ON point in every single way. Every member of their staff is friendly and skilled, and they go far above and beyond to pamper you, think of it like a dental day spa. Dr. Emily is competent, thorough, and it's easy to tell how much she cares about her patients' comfort.
I had to have so many fillings and it was virtually painless because she is so meticulous and good at her work. I am so happy I found her! On another note, her husband and staff was perfect doing my kids' teeth. They were so comfortable being there that both boys actually asked me to just wait in the waiting room for them. I wish I could give this office ten stars. They are amazing!

My kids went here for years I thought it was great until our latest visit when my child was not properly checked in bye there front desk staff we waited for almost an hour after our initial apt time, than I hear the lady who "checked" us in say "oh they were late so I just switched they're apt time" I was furious at this point so I kindly told them I was actually 5 minutes EARLY & how unprofessional they are and left!

Switched to Piper Pediatric after a not so great pediatric dentist experience and they are such a breath of life for us and our kids! All of their staff are wonderful with the children and since day one with them, it has taken the fear out of going to the dentist (which came after their prior dental experience). They listen to us and are incredibly caring. Thank you to Piper Pediatric Dentistry!

We found Dr. Piper almost on accident. My daughter had a dental emergency and they told us to come over and they would see us as soon as we arrived even though we were not established patients. They took excellent care of us and have been very thorough through out the whole process. The office is adorable and the TVs above each chair help distract and calm the kids during an otherwise stressful time. Dr. Piper and his staff are fantastic with kids and their parents!

I couldn't tell you how many times I have referred people to the Pipers. Piper Pediatric and Piper Dentistry is welcoming the minute you step inside their warm, inviting and clean office. I have been greeted with a smile from the front desk on every occasion and that friendliness extends to the hygienists and dentists as well. Appointments are always timely (which this busy working mom appreciates) and the schedulers accommodating about seeing all of my boys at the same time. I've never felt rushed or like I'm asking a silly question or have a ridiculous concern. The Pipers are the best in town!

Taking my kid here since they were little. Dr piper is patient with my kids and my daughters love going here. Not only for the game system and movie in the waiting area but because there is no pressure or negative vibes there. The front desk staff is so friendly and so are the dental assistants. It'll be sad when we are finished here. I personally have had terrible dental experiences as a kid and always worried about my kids having the same but not at Piper Pediatric Dentistry.

We absolutely LOVE Piper Pediatric Dentistry! My family and I recently moved to Bellingham from California. Looking for new doctors has been hard because we loved the ones we had in California but, I'm so glad I chose Piper Pediatric Dentistry. They were so kind to my 4 year old and had so much patience. She absolutely loved her dental assistant Danielle and laughed away while getting her teeth cleaned.
The office is decorated so cute with lots of things for the littles to enjoy while waiting. I didn't think the experience could of gone any better. Then about a week after her appointment we received the most thoughtful handwritten note in the mail. I would recommend this Pediatric Dentist over and over!

My daughter is 3 1/2 and has been seeing Dr. Piper since she was 6 months old. Such wonderful care. When she was 2 she fell on her water bottle and pushed one of her front teeth all the way into the gum! I was pretty frantic about the whole thing, and called the after hours line. Dr. Piper was away at a family function but called me right back, and even had me text pictures so he could do a preliminary diagnosis. We were able to relax and avoid sitting in the emergency room which would have exasperated the situation. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

My 9 year-old son used to go to a different pediatric dentist in town. When he was probably 4 or 5, his previous dentist found an early stage of cavities (in his baby teeth), and he suggested that he treat them (i.e., drill them). As my son was very young and I didn't like the sound of the procedure (laughing gas, etc), I asked my friends in town for recommendations.
One recommended by multiple friends was Dr. Chris Piper. So, we went in to see Dr. Piper for a second opinion. His recommendation was to keep up with brushing and flossing and wait. So, we decided to switch to Dr. Piper several years ago. We have gone in for a check-up and cleaning every 6 month. Dr. Piper has been watching the teeth my son's previous doctor wanted to drill several years ago; they have been stable and haven't gotten worse. So, no drilling even to day.
Some doctors are more "aggressive" (like my son's previous dentist) than others. My experience with Dr. Piper has been that he would treat cavities (i.e, drilling and filling) only when he thinks it is necessary. Everyone at this clinic is professional yet very friendly. Dr. Piper is very easy to talk to in addition to being a great dentist. His hygienists are all friendly.
The front desk staff are very pleasant and nice, too. The clinic is really built for kids. There's a video game in the waiting room. There are TVs on the ceiling so that the patients can watch TV as they have their teeth cleaned. I can't possibly ask for more. I'm sure my son agrees with me. ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful." Your feedback helps me improve my future reviews. I've had 4 visits I believe to Dr. Piper's office and so far I'm loving it. After about a decade of really uncomfortable experiences I was hesitant to start the process of finding a new Dr. in my current town. After the recommendation from a co-worker my husband went first : followed by myself after his vote of approval. First and foremost the staff are wonderful, I really appreciate how it's all women, I feel very comfortable, especially after having a male dentist before.
The receptionist greets you by name and intake is always quick. There's a little cooler with waters if you're thirsty and lots of magazines. The facility is very new and appears well equipped with televisions above the cleaning chairs and x-Ray stations at every chair as well. The hygienists are also very friendly and gentle, which I appreciate.
Doctor Piper is so friendly and is a compassionate dentist, she's a very good listener and is sensitive to your concerns or worries as a patient. I feel like she's truly listening and cares even if she's heard it a million times before from other patients. She's honest in her assessments of areas of concern and I really feel like I can trust her, which wasn't the case with where I previously went.
All in all I'm really liking this facility, Doctor and staff and highly recommend her. Also her husband's pediatric dentistry practice is in the same building which is a plus if you have kids.

I do not recommend this place at all. The first few years seemed great, up until one of my two boys got a cavity. Dr. Piper talked down to me and was very rude. I wanted more information on what to do for my son's oral hygiene, as his brother never gets cavities, they don't snack, rarely eat candy, and brush frequently. He was snarky and replied that if I were doing those things there shouldn't be a problem.
I am a nurse, and I definitely understand good hygiene and health. Then, my son was so scared and they suggested general anesthesia because of one time that he refused to sit in the chair. I refused (as a nurse myself, I know the risks of general anesthesia which far outweighed the benefit in this situation). We decided on conscious sedation, as this is much safer.
They made us wait for way too long, and the medication wore off towards the end of the procedure. My son was crying and they didn't stop, they just kept drilling.he was FIVE YEARS OLD! I had to try my best to comfort him. He was already petrified, now he will never want to go back. I am switching him to a provider that gets much better reviews.

My kids love Dr. Piper and the new location is very convenient for us. We never wait long, and the staff is very friendly. My kids look forward to seeing the dentist. Everything about the office caters to children and helps them be more comfortable while there. We've had 2 teeth chipping incidents and both times he's seen my child right away. I really appreciated that. A treat for the moms - he's also really easy on the eyes.;
