Dr. Andrew T. McCormick is a native Californian originally from Monterey County. He graduated from U.S.C. school of dentistry and subsequently opened his practice in Santa Rosa, finding Sonoma County to be an ideal place to locate. Learning more about the connection between dentistry, medicine, and medications and environmental toxins is of particular interest to Dr. McCormick because he sees the effects of these on his patients. Because of this, he has sought out non-traditional and progressive educations.

Dr. McCormick has been my dentist for several years. He takes personal interest in me and my general well-being. He does great work! He tries to keep costs down for me, and will prioritize dental needs so I can budget and plan. His office is spotless and beautiful, and I love that his wife Lisa is central to his practice!

I found this office by a referral. All I can say is trust your gut. The large amount of paperwork they ask you to fill out prior to your first visit could be cut by more than half if you remove all the questions fishing for how they will try to make money off you once they have you in the office. If you are looking for a great dentist without all the hard sell, this is not the place for you.
The tech's and hygienist's are super friendly, Dr McCormick is nice as well. What I don't appreciate is all the "consultations", and high pressure to tell me what I want and need. A total turn off. I wanted a cavity filled. Over three hours for the first appointment, lots and lots of talking, no filling. My second appointment I made it very clear I was not interested in more consultations, I just wanted my cavity tended to.
I have gone to the same dentist all my life with a few exceptions of emergencies. Checking for cavities has always been standard with every dentist. Dr McCormick tells me he can see with the naked eye and a bright light if I have any cavities, he relies on an X-ray to tell him if I have any cavities. A cavity can be deceptive. It can hide and be obscured by old fillings, location, or just not be obvious by eye or X-ray. FACT!
No one used a dental probe to look for dental issues like cavities and plaque while simultaneously checking the condition of restorations (i.e., crowns, bridges, etc.). No Diagnodent laser, another way of diagnosing cavities. He must of told me I had " good teeth" 20 times. Teeth that needed veneers, Invisalign, bleaching, fillings replaced, on and on and on.
The filling he did fill is so close to the nerve, I now need a root canal. The filling hits high and doesn't strike the rest of my teeth right. Any dentist with integrity would have held off on filling the cavity knowing it was so close to the nerve once they realized the situation and referred me straight to the endodontist. He even told me I would probably need a root canal but he took the money anyway.
Both Sue and Lisa at the front desk are programmed to tell you what sells. You ask them anything that deviates from the script and it's absolutely comical. Uh, hmm, ah, well, uh ya, uh, huh, like a deer caught in the headlights. Being scammed is the worst feeling in the world. I have been told they will be sending my complete records. X-ray's everything. Shame on them.

Dr. McCormick is the best dentist in Santa Rosa (I tried 5 others before I landed in his office.) My husband and I both have had great care, the work is excellent, and the office staff is friendly and attentive. I'm very dental care phobic, and dr. McCormick has always taken that into consideration when treating me. I don't feel any pain even when he is injecting pain killer into my mouth. He does take his time and is meticulous when choosing the right treatment. The office is impeccably clean and beautiful.

Had a terrible toothache in early May and could not find a Dentist. My Dentist has a recording saying they will be closed for the Month of May. It took 4 days to find a dentist that was opened. I called Andrew McCormick office and said if it was a emergency you could call him on his cell phone. I called him and he called me back Monday morning and set up a appt. for 2:00 PM that day.
I had a infected tooth that needed to be pulled but first he gave me antibiotics to take for a week and pain killers and scheduled to pull the tooth in a week and do a bridge. After the tooth pulling and bridge, there was more pain that the pain killers didn't help so I called his office and he personally talked with me and I told him that Bayer Extra Strength asprin worked better and he told me I could take them.
The pain and swelling went down in a week and now no pain and the eye tooth looks great so I can smile. He takes many precautions because of the Corona Virus. Also, gave me a good price for the bridge, since my dental insurance didn't cover that.

I've had cleanings and dental work done by Dr. McCormick. It was an excellent experience. This is a dental office where you won't want to leave as fast as you can. His work is precise and well done. I was a dental hygienist (not for Dr. McCormick) so I know. He uses specialized equipment when he removes silver fillings so you don't breath in the fumes.
The staff is very friendly. He's gentle--especially his injections. This is a dentist you'll look forward to seeing. P.S He has a scanner that replaces having to have those dreaded impressions.

I was visiting friends in Santa Rosa over the New Year's holiday weekend when my crown came off. Not being from the area and it being a holiday weekend, I wasn't sure what to do since dental offices were closed. My friend recommended I call her dentist. He was out of town, but had Dr. McCormack as the emergency dentist on call. I called him on Saturday morning and he phoned back within an hour.
He said he would be able to re-affix my crown that same day. I was so impressed with his kindness in returning my call on a holiday weekend and his flexibility in accommodating me. His assistant, Joy, was also there and they made me feel so welcome. In a time where customer service seems to be falling to the wayside, Dr. McCormack and his staff go above and beyond to create a practice that is very welcoming, kind and compassionate performing the highest quality of service. I do not live in the area, but if I did I would want his practice to be my dental office.

Doc Mac has been my dentist for about 12 years. Over time, I have replaced all my old fillings with new porcelain fillings, replaced several crowns and with the help of their staff my overall dental health has improved dramatically. I am a wimp in the dentist chair. I have extreme anxiety for any type of dental work. Doc Mac is compassionate and understanding and takes things slowly for me.

DocMac has been the most professional, knowledgable and gentle dentist. I had a particularly bad episode with another dentist and I was anxious to ever even walk in a dental office. Then, I met Dr. McCormick. His manner is patient, genuinely compassionate and very kind. I would not hesitate to recommend the entire team at Dr. McCormick's office as they all seem to exude the same level of genuine concern for their patients as DocMac. By the way, the setting of the office is beautiful, with cozy blankets if you just need something to hug!

I am happy to sing the praises of Dr. McCormick and his staff. They were extremely sensitive, caring and professional and handled my complicated case with exactly the approach I was hoping for. I needed an implant near the front of my mouth and came to Dr. McCormick based on a referral from a friend. My situation required many more visits than anticipated and Dr. McCormick and staff were supportive every step of the way.
They would only consider the implant complete when I expressed satisfaction. It was a time consuming process to get the correct shade and proper fit and the entire time I felt I was in excellent hands. In fact, I was so pleased with the professionalism and care I received that I decided to switch all my dental care to Dr. McCormick and I am so glad I did.

I can't say enough about Dr. McCormick and his staff. Absolutely excellent dentistry and the staff is all super friendly. He took me in on an emergency appointment and provided a solution for me the very same day. He took into consideration my dental, history, my feelings about my smile and my financial situation. Dr. McCormick is great at what he does! I came to him at 46 when I was new to Sonoma County! I am now in my sixties! He is gentle and skillful. His standards are high. Dr. McCormick has been my dentist the past couple of years. My wife has gone to Dr. McCormick for over a dozen years. He's an excellent practitioner with great technique. All of my treatments have been pain free. Visits for cavity fillings, a root canal, three replacement caps, and extensive cleanings have all been smooth sailing. I've used over a dozen dentists since 1960 and truly believe that "Andy" McCormick is one of the best.

Dr. McCormick and his staff are wonderful. The environment is soothing and calm. You can't beat the view when you are having work done, you can watch a lot of wildlife out the window. The staff are really friendly and if you are anxious, they do their best to keep you calm and feeling safe. I have never had to wait very long but their waiting room is lovely. Dr. McCormick and his staff donate through a "Free Dental Day" where they provide emergency dental care to those that cannot afford it otherwise.

Ever since I was a young kid, I've had chronic gum problems. While my prior dentists were unable to correct this problem, Dr. McCormick, fortunately, was able to correct the correct this problem. After a few sessions with Dr. McCormick and his dental hygienists, sessions in which they performed laser treatment on my gums and detailed a plan to improve my oral health (switching mouthwashes from Listerine to Closys, etc., purchasing a smaller toothbrush head), the health of my gums drastically improved. Dr. McCormick's office has the most advanced dental equipment and the most hospitable a well-informed staff. If you're unhappy with your current dentist, I highly recommend switching to Dr. McCormick. I made the switch in 2007 and have been very happy with my decision.
