Gentle Dentistry For Children

My 17 yr old daughter has been a patient since she was about 3 yrs old and has never ONCE complained about visiting the dentist's office. That's because Dr. Powell believes in sensitive, child-centered care!

My 4 children have been seeing Dr. Powell and Dr. Sheh over the last 10 years and the practice is all they've known for dental visits. The relationship we've built with their office has made dental visits a non-issue for my children and they look forward to going to the dentist! Dr. Powell and Dr. Sheh, all of their are hygienists and staff are fantastic!

My kiddo has been going to this office for 4 years. Everyone here is great with the kids. from the girls at the front desk to the dental hygienists and docs. My son absolutely loves them. They always greet him with a smile and ask about his day, as they do with all the kids, and always makes sure to put him at ease at every visit. He says they always make his visits good visits.

The overall dental portion of the experience seemed fine. However, like most medical and dental offices this office gives you the paperwork to fill out at home. I did it weeks in advance for my son. Our insurance plan is a little different than most and the office needed additional information to process my son's appointment. I expect that to be done in advance as well, not when I'm wrangling a 2 year old in your office. I also didn't appreciate having to hoist a 32+ lb toddler 4.5 feet in the air with my hand clearly in a wrist brace from an injury I suffered earlier in the week.

My 3 yr old just had his first dental experience and it was a great one! The staff was so nice and welcoming. Both he and his older brother were new to the practice. So, we weren't sure exactly what to expect. They surpassed our expectations and calmed any and all fears! I definitely recommend this practice to others!

LOVE this practice! Absolutely best place to bring your children. They make the dentist totally fun and NOT scary. They are kind and friendly. Been coming since my oldest was 18 months old and broke a tooth. It's a great practice!

Great office and friendly staff. Only feedback I would have is that communication is key. My two children and I learned that they had problem areas the office was watching after a cavity had formed. My 16 year old was distraught that she has her first cavity. Please keep parents and the children abreast.flossing areas and/or brushing areas of interest and what can be done better or differently.

We come faithfully for preventive care. Disclaimer: could be a challenge related to COVID with parents not going inside but communicating to the children and following up via phone with the parents are viable options. My children are old enough to understand.

We really like this place. I know that growing up, I was always dreading the dentist (still am) but my kids are 10 and 12 and they are always so happy to have dentist appointments. I always feel like I get a good explanation of what is going on with their teeth, and even though I trust them, it's nice that they take the time to make sure parents know what is going on.

I love bringing my kids to Dentistry for Children and Teens. The staff is always so friendly and going above and beyond to make it a fun experience for the kids. My 7 and 9 year old are always excited for their appointments. I would recommend this business to any family looking for a fun, caring, personable, thorough, and professional dentist for their kids.

As a child I always had awful experiences at the dentist. Finding a gentle, child friendly dentist was important. Both of my children have been going to Dr. Powell since they were 3 years old. And both love going to the dentist and getting their teeth cleaned. From the beginning the entire office staff made it their mission to make the visits pleasant.

One of my children has sensory issues and the hygienist from the beginning trained him to tolerate all the noises, sensations and procedures. I highly recommend this practice for young children and children with specific needs.

I have been taking my children to Dr. Powell for over 6 years. The office staff is fantastic, from the time I walk into the time we leave. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and my children always love going. Dr. Powell takes his time to interact with the kids and make them feel comfortable. The assistants and hygienists are friendly and my girls love going in and feeling like princesses.

They have not needed anything other than a filling here and there, but each time the procedure is explained and finances are gone over beforehand. I cannot say ENOUGH good things about this office, I wish they also saw adult "chicken" dental patients like myself!
