Update. So, I had the unfortunate experience of biting on something and breaking a bottom molar. And it was the one all the way in the back of my mouth. Fearing going to the dentist I waited and waited, chewing everything on the other side of the mouth, brushing twice as often and rinsing with antiseptic mouth wash to keep it clean. End result, if you break your tooth, go get it fixed right away.
I was sooo lucky to have a great dentist like Dr. Maria Escoto who saved the base of the tooth and prevented me from a root canal procedure. She was able to clean away the broken portion and the decay that developed in spite of my cleaning and brushing. She rebuilt the tooth and all is well again. It's also the first time in my life I've have any dental procedure without anesthesia! I highly recommend them. Very professional, experts in their field and great service. Thank you Dr. Todd Narson Miami Beach, FL

I wish I could give them 10 stars! My family and I have been going to Sobe Dentists for years and every time they get an A+ from us. My children are no longer scared to go to the dentist and they are able to help us with all of our dental needs. My sons Invisalign teen was a great success. Dr. Escoto, monitored every step of the way. From tooth whitening to dental implants we have used every imagined service and have never been anything but pleased. The whole team at Sobe Dentist is top notch. Even though we do not live in the area we still would go no where else.

I'm writing this on behalf of my friend and what I experienced from visiting this office. First hour my friend and I were in Miami her veneer fell off (her front tooth too) so it was devastating. We did some research and found Sobe Dentist. luckily it was also a few minute walk from our hotel. Dr. Mantovani did a wonderful job along side his also amazing wife, Dr. Escoto.
They were both honest and extremely comforting and welcoming. I would recommend these two dentists to anyone in the area. The office was so pretty, clean and bright. Thanks to Sobe Dentists for making sure the rest of our trip was amazing!

Convenient and great neighborhood dentist. I went for my cleaning today and Peddeidra was quick, efficient and delightful. She offered me headphones, eyeshade and even a special hand treatment to make my visit feel more like a visit to a spa rather than a dentist. Both of the dentists are well trained in latest dental technology and very professional.

I've been coming to Sobe Dentist for 6+ years and Dr. Alberto Mantovani and his staff have always been courteous, professional and competent. I've recommend this place to friends before and I will continue to do so. If you're in Miami Beach and looking for a good dentist, go check them out. You'll be happy you did.

SoBe Dentist saved the day for a me a few months ago. Right before Thanksgiving, a sealant on my rear molar broke off. It had been placed there to protect a crown. Without the sealant, eating is really unpleasant and painful, because it hurts to chew-- the worst kind of problem right before Thanksgiving, the food holiday! I was stressed. I walked into SoBe Dentist that day without an appointment, and my sealant was fixed in less than an hour. Awesome service that literally saved my holiday season. Thanks SoBe Dentist!

Let's face it, no one enjoys going to the dentist, me included! My experience with SoBe Dentist is the exception. Two reasons, honesty and great service. Dr Escoto and Dr. Mantovani have a nice office with all the amenities of a first class spa including coffee and water service in the waiting area and all the comforts in the exam/treatment rooms including pillows, blankets, headphones, and videos to help make the visit as calming and comfortable as possible.
As a patient for 10 years, I feel like I've always been treated with total honesty, never doubting the recommended treatments, knowing that they are only concerned with my oral health.

Do not be fooled by the spa-like atmosphere and fancy equipment. Dr. Escoto should have her dentist license revoked. Back in 2009, I was talked into a set of 10 porcelain veneers that cost me $15,000.00. My teeth were healthy, just slightly crooked. I never had dental problems up to that point. In hindsight, the worst decision I ever made was allowing her near my teeth.
I have had numerous problems as a result of her work: -- Due to over-prepping/ filing away too much tooth structure, three out of ten teeth subsequently got infected and needed root canals, posts and full crowns. The pain from the infection was excruciating, not to mention needing strong antibiotics, Vicodin and the incurred additional expenses for going to an endodontist and other dentists. -- The veneer margins weren't as tight as they should be, causing bacteria to get trapped and gingivitis.
I had to endure a painful deep cleaning by a gum specialist and more antibiotics. -- The cement she used to attach the veneers was inferior. I had to return to their office countless times to have veneers cemented back on. Dr. Mantovani finally admitted that she should have used a different cement. Imagine being on date night Friday and having a veneer pop off your front tooth, then being toothless all weekend until they can fit you in Monday or Tuesday!
I was living in constant fear of biting into something and having a veneer pop off. Even now, years after the veneers, they are still coming off. I just had one come off a few weeks ago. I feel the need to put my review back on Yelp to warn people. Dr. Mantovani had previously pressured me to remove it so that they wouldn't charge me for cementing my loose veneers back on. One might say that's unethical.

I have never written a bad review. But I feel it necessary to warn others. I really loved the people here, and all of the extra paraffin treatments that I received the 1st year that I went here. My grown kids never wanted to go tho, because they said whenever they did, they were told they needed all of these extra expensive treatments. I said our insurance covers cleaning.just tell them you want a cleaning.they reluctantly went back, but had the same experience of being upcharged.now looking back, I can remember sitting in their chair, and them not wanting to do anything in my mouth until I increased the amount of insurance I got, which I finally did, (with the idea that I needed a $1500 dental wash I increased my insurance as much as I could), but then I had to wait a year before it would take affect.so during this time they were understandable (reluctantly), they would still clean my teeth, until one day, out of the blue, I had an appointment for a follow up 1 month before my insurance would take affect, and I got a call from a girl there, who said that I needed a crown TODAY, before my insurance kicked in and they would need to reimburse me $1600.mind you, I was in NO PAIN.this was the troubling thing!
They said if I didn't get the crown today, I would need a root canal! By the time I got in there, Dr. Mantovani, a Panamanian, who I really liked because I lived in Panama for 10 yrs, knew how troubled I was about this. I had gotten a 2nd opinion by sending my xrays to a military dentist friend in another state who recommended a much less expensive, "tempic or arm" temporary treatment until my insurance could pay for it. Dr. M refused to do what my dentist friend had suggested and finally just told me I needed a root canal, after looking in my mouth and flicking what I thought might be a loose cap, which I was hoping would stay there until my insurance was upgraded and paying, then recommended a specialist, and said he could no longer help me.who I later found did not take my insurance.
When my insurance upgrade finally went into affect. I visited another dentist on South Beach, Dr. Sabo, an orthodox jew, who I was later told "Orthodox Jews don't lie!".who said, no, I don't need a root canal nor a crown.he filed off a sharp part of my tooth that had been bothering me for a year, which was what made me think I DID in fact need a crown, and said I only have a small cavity, and it is up to me.
I can either fill it, or we can just "keep an eye on it, " because sometimes when you go in and do further work in an area, you can irritate it, which could lead to you needing a crown or a root canal. At first I had thought I might as well do it now that I have all of this insurance, but then after talking to more people I found out that Dr. Sabo is right, best just to keep an eye on it, my mouth feels great now, and I have a ton of DENTAL insurance now ready to pay for anything that is wrong, so I'm begging my daughters to please go to the dentist, Dr. Sabo, so we can use some of this insurance now!.didn't want the "karma" of writing a bad review, but then I was reminded about this when I received a "this is not a bill" Statement from my insurance company saying that Sobe Dentist was collecting something over $650 for my daughter's teeth cleaning!
To Sobe Dentist's defense, I was told this total was incorrect, and they were still collecting from my insurance company, but this reminded me how scared and upset I was that day they called me and said I had to pony up $1600, and get a crown TODAY or I would need a root canal in the near future, and then I realized that I didn't need the bad karma of NOT telling of my experience.then people can draw their own conclusion. Loved the people.loved the experience.for a year.

Extremely disappointed with the service provided at this establishment. Everything seemed fine until I asked about the refund for my deposit. They told me I needed to leave a deposit until my insurance paid them to have services performed ( I should have been suspicious about this). Once I did that, I never received a dime back. Numerous emails and even an office visit in which they treated me like trash and no resolve. Finally, they claim they charged me full price because an out of network doctor performed the service ( they never explained that).
I have insurance which covers 80 percent of the cost so why would I volunteer to get overcharged almost 4 times the average cost. They ripped me off without a doubt. I consider their practice to be deceptive, manipulative and unethical above all. I urge anyone who wants a honest dentist office to steer clear from this one. My loss your win.

I have been avoiding extracting my wisdom teeth for years! I finally came to Sobe dentist to get a cleaning and felt so comfortable with the Dentists that I decided to get my wisdom teeth out. Dr. Mantovani took out my wisdom teeth in like 2 mins and I felt NO PAIN. He was honestly amazing! I was so beyond nervous and they were extremely patient and understanding. I would definitely recommend :

Yikes. Don't go here. After polishing and subsequently chipping off my husband's filling in the front, the dentist fixed it a few days later. Only to have it completely fall off two more times. We are all human, we make mistakes. I get it. But to have the dentist be aggressive about it and try to put blame on my husband? Not only was her demeanor about it aggressive, it was downright rude.
Not very professional, even for Miami Beach. Afterwards, we changed dentists right away. After talking to some colleagues and other dental professionals around town, we quickly realized that amongst real professionals, this place and this dentist has a bad reputation. It is more sad than anything that healthcare professionals like this exist. Writing this in warning for others.
There are other decent places to go! This is not one of them. BTW.many frustrations were expressed multiple times and we were met with hostility from the actual dentist (a pathetic excuse for a dentist). Our new dentist looked at 2 crowns my husband had done just the other day and was appalled at the poor work. This place is all talk and just plain sad. This review is written to warn others. Stay away!

The doctors and staff at Sobedentist are amazing! They are attentive and knowledgeable. Since I come to this dental place I feel at peace coming to the dentist. It feels like a spa and they have the most comfortable chairs. They give you pillows and headphones so you can relax while doing your teeth. The hygienist is very friendly and gentle. I recommend the dentists here to everyone. Dr Mantovani has done all my cavities and now I just come here for my cleanings.

DO NOT GO HERE! AWFUL! I never write reviews. But I bought a groupon to go in for a simple cleaning. Granted my last cleaning was 9 months ago, so maybe I expected them to say I was over due, but it was worse. The woman who brought me in (whom I assumed is married to the Dr.) kept making me feel absolutely horrible about my teeth the minute she took photos when I hadn't even seen the doctor yet to confirm what she was saying (fyi my teeth are straight and white they just need a good cleaning). Then when the doctor came in which felt like 2 minutes, he told me I had 3 cavities and asked if I smoked (which I don't) and gave me a weird look when I said "no". THEN they proposed to tell me I needed a deep cleaning and b/c I already paid for the groupon she said she'd "give me a deal" of $650 to do a deep cleaning.
Which meant they'd numb my mouth and only clean one side that day. I'd have to come back to clean the other. All of this while I'm sitting in the chair and felt completely bombarded. Oh and she dipped my hands in hot wax the moment I sat down bc she said it made them soft and covered them with bags. lol Nothing she said was ever prefaced or explained.
It was just thrown at me as if I had some terrible dental problem. Speaking to people about their health and money is serious and I don't think they have a clue about how to approach situations. They basically wanted my money and this was a horrible experience. Needless to say I've booked another appt at my previous dentist in frt laud, who assured me that every cleaning they did was deep cleaning.

Being new to the area I took advantage of a groupon deal for a cleaning and x-rays. I met with a friendly dentist who welcomed me and told me that he'd be taking care of me. I then came in for the x-rays. After waiting for 45 minutes they took the x-rays. The tech was very polite and apologetic for my wait time. They only took two x-rays. I've had x-rays before and I remember a lot more pics. Whatever, I was there for the cleaning and exam. 20 minutes later the woman who would be cleaning my teeth invited me into her cleaning office.
She was very nice and friendly. She started cleaning my teeth and 20 minutes later she was all done. All she did was take a drill to my teeth and then she flossed them. No scraping? This was definitely not the cleanings I'm used to. Maybe, because I was on a groupon they see that as a reason to do a half-assed job. But, I look at it as their audition to earn my business.
The doctor came in after the cleaning and pointed out some cracked fillings that needed to be replaced. He pointed them out and asked me if I had any questions and then he was gone. Everyone at Sobedentist was very nice and friendly and the office was clean and tidy. However, the cleaning was hardly a cleaning. For me, the lackluster cleaning effort will hold me back from giving them more business.
The fact that they didn't take the time to do a good job makes me question their ability to do more advanced dental work. Which may or may not be the truth. The dentist may be very good. I'll never know because I won't be going back. On a side note, when they were discussing the future work that I needed. I felt as if I was being treated as if I couldn't afford the services.
She kept talking about the financing and that I could get a co-signer to qualify and make payments. She went on and on about how I could make the payments over a few years and pay a modest interest rate of 14%. Maybe, again, it was because I was in on a groupon and maybe that client has some challenges with affording expensive work. Future recommendation -just let me know my payment options and move on. UPDATE - I just got back from another dentist who took a full set of x-rays.
No cracked fillings to cavities. SOBEDENTIST are scam artists. They said I need two inlays and a cavity. For $2800 - no wonder they wanted to book me right away for my appointment. Stay away. Changing from two stars to zero. SCAM SCAM

I would not recommend this dentist. Dr. Escoto is friendly but frankly she lacks the skills you'd want from someone you entrust your health. I had a filing put in just 2 years ago and it now needs to be replaced. When is comes to your health you only get one shot an if your not up to the task then you deserve a poor review. They sell you here on the latest an greatest equipment but to be a good dentist you need to be good with your hands.
The equipment isn't doing the work the dentist is. Dr. Mantovani her husband is a better dentist and often cleans up her mistakes. Having said that how can you be comfortable going to a place that operates like that. Perhaps for basic cleanings this place is good if it's convenient beyond that, I'd recommend you look esleswhere. I finally found a good dentist in Brickell.
