Everything outside of the consultation about my experience with Dr. Puri was horrible. I would give negative stars if I could. During the procedure (extraction and bone graft placement) I had to stop him multiple times because it was excruciatingly painful and I clearly was not numb enough. He had made no apologies for this and failed to get me properly numb several more times.
I heard him during the procedure telling his assistants that the extraction was more difficult than anticipated (something he would later lie to me about). Fast forward a day post op, and I was in extraordinary pain that the Tylenol he prescribed was not helping. After leaving several voicemails, I finally received a call back from the gal at the front, who said she had a prescription I could come pick up, but that they would only be open for another hour (until the weekend).
I picked up the other prescription and began taking it as prescribed. The pain was still not at a level that seemed normal to me, as no one prepared me to need to take several days off work due to the pain. Anyways, at 2 in the morning on Saturday I woke up in some of the worst pain of my entire life. I took 600mg of ibuprofen as well as the pain medication Dr. Puri prescribed, iced the area, etc. Trying to get the pain down to a level that was tolerable.
I have a very high pain tolerance and have had my fair share of surgeries including a bilateral breast reduction, appendectomy, tonsillectomy, as well as the standard wisdom teeth removal and a couple of other extractions. This pain I was in following an extraction with Dr. Puri was worse than anything I had experienced before. I sat up for hours crying because the pain was so terrible I couldn't stand it, and nothing was helping it.
At four in the morning I finally accepted the pain medication wasn't going to help and called the "emergency" number provided to be my Dr. Puri (it is literally just their office number). I left a voicemail and sent texts to their "text able" line about how much pain I was in and that I wanted the bone graft removed because clearly something was very wrong.
I called again about an hour later and left another voicemail to the same effect. At about 10 a.m. I had not gotten any sleep and accepted I wouldn't hear from Dr. Puri, so I went to the emergency room because I needed the pain to stop. Apparently during this time Dr. Puri has tried to call me twice but left no voicemail. I got a pain injection at the emergency room and finally was able to get a few hours of sleep before waking up again in pain at 4 p.m. Dr. Puri called me at this point and I have never in my life been spoken to by a professional with such dismissive disdain and lack of empathy in my life.
He flat out told me that he thinks I have a low pain tolerance and essentially that I am over reacting (neither of which is true). He then preceded to say he would see about getting me seen on Monday (despite the massive amount of pain I was currently in he wanted me to wait two more days because he thought I was making it up?). Honestly my experience was so terrible I plan on even leaving my regular dentist for having referred me to him.
I would STRONGLY advise you go anywhere else for treatment if you want surgery performed by a doctor who actually cares about his patients. Luckily I was able to find a different, empathetic provider who saw me that night to help. Cannot say anything positive about Dr. Puri. I have never been treated so horribly by a doctor in my entire life.

The doctor and back of the house staff were wonderful. Sav-on pharmacy received my prescriptions two days prior to my surgery. When I came to pick up two days later, two of my medications were still 'waiting on more information' from Periodontal Implant Associates. They needed more info but did they reach out? Supposedly yes, once, and then nothing back.
After still hearing nothing, they failed to follow up. Periodontal Associates had a different story, that the pharmacy didn't ever call. I'm disappointed that they (Savon) didn't follow up on my behalf. And the same with Periodontal Implant Associates. If I had known there was a level of incompetence that would affect me negatively post-procedure, I would have followed up with both of them.
And I'll be a paranoid thorn in the side of any staff that I'll be relying on moving forward due to this experience. YOU are your only advocate, don't forget that just because the staff you're dealing with seems competent. We all make mistakes, but it's what we do after the mistake that truly shows who we are. I received no additional assistance from either Sav-on or Periodontal Implant Associates.

I first met Dr. Gottlieb about 9 years ago. He is unlike any dentist/ specialist you'll ever meet. he leaves an impression. He is honest, straightforward and a true "straight shooter". He will steer you in the direction that's best for you. It also doesn't hurt that is staff is lovely and knowledgeable.
