Dr. Martha Rich is committed to providing the highest quality dental services in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment. Every member of her staff has been carefully selected for their clinical excellence and compassionate chair side manner. It is our hope that you will always feel comfortable and well-taken care of at every single appointment you have in our office.
I'm not certain how often you hear that a visit to the dentist was the high point of one's day, but I want you all to know that is often the case for me. The care, compassion, and gentle nature of all of you beautiful people warms the heart. Always lending an ear, with sincere concern for whatever challenges your patients are facing, is a quality that has always yet you all apart from the rest.
Preventive dentistry isn't just about the treatment you receive in the dental office. Healthy mouths and bodies begin at home. Diet, lifestyle, and personal hygiene each play a significant role in the prevention of dental and systemic disease. Parents who model good habits in these areas for their children often experience greater success in helping their children develop healthy habits of their own.
Pitching your head forward in a slouch causes your entire upper body to be off balance with your hips and feet. The ears should be over the shoulders and the chin slightly tucked. This equalizes the forces placed on the neck and shoulder muscles both front to back, and side to side. In the proper posture, your arms should hang loosely at your sides and your hands should rest slightly toward the back side of your legs, rather than the front. As with standing, the muscles in your upper back and neck must strain in order to counter the weight of the head.

I have been seeing Dr. Martha Rich for years and years now. She has successfully realigned my jaw and teeth to eliminate the clenching and grinding issues I was having. Soheila is the hygienist and is very thorough. Even though I don't like to head into downtown, I do it for the incredible knowledge and service I find at this office. I have been through a lot with them and have a wonderful smile for it that is healthy and should allow me to keep all my teeth for a lifetime. I am grateful to Martha and her crew for their upbeat energy and treating the whole person with a caring attitude.

Martha's actual view point as a doctor doesn't seem to match up with the services that they off on their website. From my experience, the whole appointment had much of a bait and switch feel to get me in the door to make a quick buck for minimal effort on their part. I paid $450 out of my pocket for a 30 minute "review" that left me with no viable option other than asking for another $1000 to possibly correct my problem.

I have been experiencing problems with clenching and grinding my teeth at night for over a year. I came across Martha's website and found something that may help with my problem. Taken directly from her site: "Like treatment for headache pain, using botulinum A for bruxism is not a cure. However, there is growing evidence to suggest that breaking the cycle of extreme muscle function with a few treatments may teach the muscles to relax more over time." - See more at: http://drmartharich.com/resources/botox-dentistry/#sthash. LloSEhzs.dpuf After reading this I didn't expect magic to happen with Botox, but it seemed like it wouldn't hurt to try.

Even when I called and made my appointment, I spoke to one of the dental assistants and this person confirmed the information on their site. They also explained that I could use the $450 for the initial review to go towards Botox and possibly have the shots done in the first visit. However, when I finally went in for my appointment. The whole appointment seemed very rushed and left me very confused. Martha made a statement in direct opposition to her own website and explained to me that Botox is not a good option for nightly teeth grinding.

I mentioned that I had gone through multiple mouth guards for grinding, but she didn't seem to listen. The only suggestion she made to me would be to do another guard for $1000. I know my situation is very specific, but the office seems like they need to get their marketing better aligned to Martha's view points or this could be misconstrued as false advertising. If you do have a similar problem there are other dentists in Portland that offer Botox for assistance with teeth grinding. It really helps too!

My family has been going to Dr Rich for dental care for many years and cannot say enough good things about her and her team. My wife had her teeth straightened by Dr. Rich with Invisalign and could not be happier with the result.

I have been looking for a dentist for a long time. I finally found the one! Dr. Martha Rich and her crew are exactly what one would hope for in a dentist - professional, courteous, personable, thorough, friendly. Every step of the experience has been excellent. After my first appointment I received a long letter from Dr. Martha explaining what they had done and what we need to do from here, along with photos of my teeth. I couldn't recommend more highly!
