Dr. Kenneth Irigoyen was born in Silver Springs, Maryland and moved to Key Biscayne, Florida in 1971 where he attended elementary school. He completed high school at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and continued onto Loyola University. Dr. Irigoyen graduated with honors from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1989.
It is our desire to answer questions about you, or your child's bite problem or "malocclusion" on the first visit, which we call an evaluation. Our major objective is to determine IF treatment is needed and if so, WHEN treatment should begin. In children, treatment is determined by stage of development not age.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child first be seen by an orthodontist as early as age 7 or earlier should a parent or the family dentist discover a problem. The timing of orthodontic treatment is extremely important and greatly affects the treatment result. Since no two patients are alike, there is no absolute, specific age that is best to begin treatment.
