I tried getting myobrace for my 7 year old daughter at ted Herman's office. The office said they would need to take x rays for myobrace! So unnecessary this x ray exposure. Myobrace is not an invasive mouth appliance! It's all about protecting him and not my daughter from ionizing radiation which can cause dna cell damage. And they said it's $1800 for just one device. Most offices are $350 per device.

This spring I visited Dr. Herrmann's office on the recommendation of a friend with high hopes. I was taken in for an initial appointment for wisdom tooth extraction. During this appointment I was initially impressed by the selection of healthy books in the office foyer, and the kindness of the staff as a whole. But then, the unnecessary procedures and monetary costs started adding up.
First I was required to take a CT scan for $250 cash. Then, Dr. Herrmann told me I needed to have PRP therapy for the extraction. I told Dr. Herrmann that I was not interested in PRP therapy, as this would null and void my insurance. The initial exam, which cost nearly $400, was not covered by insurance. Instead, they gave me an insurance claim form to fill out on my own only after I specifically requested and told them of my dissatisfaction with their service.
When I requested a refund for their service I was given a consultation by Dr. Herrmann where he told me I'd "probably be fine" keeping my wisdom teeth for now. My wisdom teeth continued to be infected and after causing me intense pain for several additional months, I ended up getting the teeth extracted without PRP therapy just fine with no complications by a different dentist for just over half what I spent at this office.

Dr. Herrmann is my dentist till the end. I have been a patient of Dr. Herrman for many years now and am so grateful I found him. He is extremely compassionate, listens well, and is comprehensive in his approach. He saved my tooth from all the other dentists' who were saying that I needed a root canal and intuitively I felt this was not the approach I needed. Dr. Herrman's vision and response to the care of my tooth confirmed I had chosen the right place for the care of my teeth.
Your teeth are such a sacred jewel - this is where our digestive tract start so I know my teeth are in great hands. He also safely removed the mercury fillings I had as a child and felt blessed to have become aware of this potential toxin to my body. He is a holistic dentist in everyway. He checks not only your teeth but other factors that can affect teeth health like DIET and STRESS.
Never have I ever been asked about my diet and stress and how that contributes to my teeth. Again, I can't say enough. To top it off, I cried in front of Dr. Herrman explaining about my mental health and grabbed tissues for me and listened. He is my kind of provider, a person with a good heart and one that genuinely cares about all the people he treats. Thank you so much for the care you put to your patients!

Probably the only TRULY HOLISTIC dentist in South Florida. I found Dr. Herrmann after attending the Holistic Oral Health Summit online in 2018. He happened to be the only holistic dentist in the broad Miami-area who met all the criteria set by the summit's holistic dentist guide which is a listing of holistic dentists by state. I had done extensive research and I am glad I found him.
His office is well-equipped with the latest technology, the staff is super knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Herrmann has an impressive list of qualifications and professional experience as a biological dentist, well-versed in the subject of functional medicine and practices a holistic lifestyle outside of the office in his private life. He has great bedside manner, he always takes the time to actively listen and educate while providing excellent, pain-free dental care.
I feel that his approach to dental procedures is on the conservative side, carefully evaluating options and prioritizing the treatment plan based on various personal factors. Overall I am very pleased with the services I have received and no longer feel anxious about having to visit a dentist. I highly recommend Dr. Herrmann's holistic dental practice, Assure A Smile.

Terrible front desk and disorganized billing department. I have been going to this dentist for about 15 years now. They got a new office location and pretty much everything went downhill from there. My whole family left because of their disorganization and lack of communication. However, I stayed as I have never encountered any issues. Until now. I went to the dentist for a normal cleaning.
About a month later, my sister gets a bill statement that was sent to my fathers house that is for a service that I received. When calling the dentist to clarify the issue, not only does the front desk have a lack of communication skills but they do not care to assist or contact the insurance directly. The office claims although the bill was mailed and marked under a different insurance and patient name - this payment was processed and billed to me.
I then call Aetna who confirms the bill was approved, processed and paid. When Aetna decided to contact the dentist directly to inform they had paid the bill - the first call was advised they the did not know the office/ doctor they were calling for. The second time my insurance called with me on hold. They stated that they did not send a bill; however, it was just a pending balance until the insurance pays.
My bill clearly states this is the TOTAL AMOUNT due and right underneath it states if this is not paid within 90 days it will be sent to collectors. Ok next lie. The final conversation was with the dentist wife. Thank god, her communication skills are little better since she actually cares about the business. She states that due to Covid, her new procedure is to bill the patient and then have the patient deal with the insurance directly and get reimbursed.
Strange because I have never dealt with this type of business with any other doctor offices. First of, communicate to your clients that this is how business will be done. Second, if this is your new process than why was I AND my insurance billed? I can't get reimbursed from my insurance if you are requesting payment from both of us. Oh and to top it off, when I spoke to the front desk and I asked since you billed both of us (Aetna and I) are you going to give me my money back once you receive payment from my insurance.
I was advised NO with an attitude. Your staff can make or break you. And unfortunately, I do not think this staff / billing department reflects Dr. Herrmann's work ethics. However, due to several of disorganized and miscommunicated issues between 5 different family members and their staff. I can no longer recommend him as a dentist.

This office has the worst billing department I have ever encountered. They mis billed my wife's cleaning for another persons and stated that one of the 2 free cleanings a year wasn't covered. They then stated they will require all patients to pay out of their pocket to then get reimbursed by their insurance. Please do not waste your time with this office.

Save your money, don't bring it to this office! Unfortunately as much as I wanted him to be a good Doctor, It has been one big disappointment. First 2 hygienists missed a large cavity during the cleaning, which was discovered by my orthodontist. But I gave him a second chance. He collected the money upfront and when I called with a complaint about his work (a whole left in my tooth!) he decided to end "our relationship" over the phone, because I didn't have confidence in him. and wished me a Merry Christmas. on a January 21st. I don't appreciate that type of humor after spend over a $1000 in good faith

I want to recommend a holistic dentist in Miami if anyone is looking for answers. My prayers were just answered. Let me start with this. I have a 4-year-old child who visited 4 different pediatric dentists in 6 months. We were trying to get a second opinion. Every single dentist refused to fix his teeth because he has a lot of decay and cavities and all of them wanted to send him to the hospital to get his teeth fixed under general anesthesia with the metal crowns and root canals, and all the insanity done to him.
Every time we left heartbroken and crying. My child experienced stress going to all 4 previous pediatric dentists. I am from Europe and I've been living holistic most of my life. We don't put children under GA to fix their teeth. We don't use the sedation nor we ever fix baby root canals. My child has never taken antibiotics or any medicine, he is the healthiest little guy and the idea of putting him under GA was not an option I would ever consider.
I searched for over a year for a holistic dentist, I did my research, I read a lot of books, I put him on a special diet and I found Dr. Ted Hermann @ Assure a Smile. Today we had an appointment. We spent 2.5 hours at the doctor's office and it was the most amazing holistic experience I couldn't even dream about. Dr. Ted and his assistant Bryna (I hope I spelled it right) made me cry happy tears.
They were so amazing, I have no words to express my gratitude to what they do. They looked at his teeth, we did ozone treatment, discussed his diet, Dr looked at his tong ties and lip ties, recommended what to do exactly, they never pushed for X-rays like every dentist does, they made him and me feel at ease and I was so relieved that we don't have to go to the hospital and put him under GA.
There is always a holistic approach and this Doctor is our Doctor forever. If I can recommend someone who is a holistic dentist plus an amazing human being, he is the one. I will drive over an hour to every appointment any day. So happy to find him. Grateful from the bottom of my heart. I'm still crying happy tears and my child absolutely loved them. If I could give 10 stars I would. The best of the best! Thank you!

Dr. Herrmann is an incredible dentist. I did extensive research to find him and I'm glad I did! His expertise is like no other and he has the proper technology as well. I drove an hour and a half and it was totally worth it. Holistic dentistry is the only way to go. Seriously, I can't express how important it is to only be treated by a holistic dentist.
Do the research and watch "The Root Cause" on Netflix to learn why it's absolutely imperative that only a holistic dentist treats you. And if you happen to be local to Dr. Herrmann, you're in luck! Make the appointment, thank me later.

Wonderful doctor and staff, very caring and professional. You feel at home. Don't waist your time going to another dentist, this is the place to go. You will not find a more caring doctor and staff. If could give a 10 stars I would. My family and I are very blessed to come across such a wonderful place. Your child will be excited to go. It is hard to come across good doctors and when I do, I want to make sure everyone knows. Thank you guys for all your love and care Jessica and Lucien Zapatero

I really liked Dr. Herrman so much, the only thing that I'm angry about is that he referred me to Dr. Wheeler for migraines. I'm out 725 dollars trusting in Dr. Herrman's referral. I really believed and trusted in Dr. Herrman's referral, but Dr. Wheeler was one of the worst doctors visits I've ever had. He was slightly condescending to me, his evaluation medically irrelevant and ridiculously easy, better suited for a 4 or 5 year old child.
He wasn't knowledgeable about the latest in medicine, food, or inflammation disorders. He stated to me that he couldn't find my skin disorder, so he gave up. His treatment plan also seemed like quackery and wasn't based on science. I would expect a Dr. to order labs then to prescribe a treatment plan. He didn't do that. He said I should try some stuff out and come back in a couple of months.
What about labs? What about Science? I got nothing of value, nothing scientific. I wouldn't go back. I'm not the kind of person to not pay, but really I shouldn't have. I was ripped off. The visit was so bad! Then I think to myself, Why would Dr. Herrman refer me to someone like that? I really trusted his opinion. That's the one area I would say Dr. Herrman made a mistake. I think he's a great dentist, just if he refers you to Dr. Wheeler, please don't go. You've been warned.

Great place! Very friendly staff. We got there and where seen by someone on time. I took my 2 year old and they were amazing! Very patient and friendly. They even have a box with toys for kids to take home! I also loved that it didn't smell like dentist office! They are homeopathic dentistry so it's amazing! We had a great experience

The best dentist and staff by far! I had No wait time on every visit. They are thorough with their work, very clean office, friendly staff and make sure your experience is pleasant even when pulling a tooth isn't such a good time. I used to fear going to the dentist -not any more - I'm very happy I found Dr. Herrmann. His holistic approach and skill is superb! I refer him to my friends and family -

I couldn't have been any happier with my visit for my 6 year old son. The entire staff is so friendly and patient. Nathalie welcomed us with a warm smile and Mercy gave us a tour and was so loving to our son who had a previous traumatic experience at Miami Children's Smile who wasn't patient with him at all. Dr. Herman is absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable.
Our son is a curious boy with lots of questions but they had no problem answering them and making him feel at ease. The whole family will be coming here and I'm so happy we found our new dentist for life! Thank you so much!

This dentist has no ethics and morals. I lost a good tooth because of him. He lied to me about what he was going to do. He will gladly take your money and proceed to destroy your natural teeth without your knowlege. Other dentists have told me what he did was criminal. Stay away from him. He has a nice smile and but he does not care one bit about you and your teeth. This one tooth will end up costing me over $12,000. Buyer beware. He would receive negative stars at least negative $12,000's worth.

Worst dentist in the world! Office horribly disorganized. They said that they were a participating provider for my insurance and then after years sent me a bill and said that they no longer accepted and charged me $1000 in charges. When I disputed the charges they threw me into collections. for $1000. Be wary of this office. I can't stress enough how horrible my experience.
My daughter had to go to another dentist to get her braces done correctly so that she would not have a gap in her front teeth. I strongly recommend searching for another dentist and avoiding the hassle of bad office management and poor inferior dental practices.

I have been going to this dentist for over 5 years. The doctor is amazing and will do everything possible to help your overall health, not just the health of your teeth. I have never had a problem with them in over 5 years, and that also includes visits for my son and orthodontics visits for myself (so a LOT of visits). They treat us like family. The doctor is also honest about what work really needs to be done.
My son had two cavities and one was minor so the doctor said a filling wasn't necessary at that point and to make sure he brushed and flossed regularly and they would keep an eye on it. He never needed a filling for that tooth. And when my Invisalign progress slowed because of lack of room for my bottom teeth, he was honest with me about needing a jaw expander so I wouldn't be on Invisalign forever.
So I took a break from the Invisalign treatment on my bottom teeth for a few months while I used the expander and went back to finish my Invisalign treatment after I had more room for my bottom teeth. It worked like a charm! I've also heard him with other patients and he's just as honest with them. He explains to patients what is going on and suggests what they should do and why, but he gives patients all their options and lets them choose.
He understands and respects patients' choices. He cares and is down to earth and understands if you have monetary or fear restrictions and will work with you. Overall, I can't see me going to any other dentist at any point in my life or for our son. I drive an hour each way down into Miami and it's totally worth it. Oh, and the new office is beautiful! *** Update May 3, 2016: still seeing the doctor and winding down on my Invisalign treatment.
My last two trays have been trimmed so my teeth on the sides can move and meet so my bite will be fully correct. My teeth are already SO much better than when I went in, I can't even tell you how excited I will be once my bite is fully normal. My son is also progressing well on his retainer (except for a blip in his progress because he lost the retainer at school, so we had to go in and do another imprint and get a new retainer a few weeks later). Still great staff and still great doctor and hygienists (especially Mercy and Geo).

I love this holistic dentist even though I have dentist trauma from childhood! Hygienist Veronica and Geo are awesome! It is painless. I don't even feel the novacaine go in. I had all my "mercury" fillings removed and he used oxygen masks and latex barriers to prevent absorption. My last dentist hadn't done that and I was coughing black into my tissue. Dr. Herman even gives you a vitamin C drink after to support your immune system.
He is up to date on latest non toxic treatments - ie he uses ozone therapy following deep cavities to kill bacteria hiding in tooth before filling it. Thanks for getting me to start going to the dentist again!
