From the moment I opened the door, I was greeted with authentically friendly staff. The lobby was clean and smelled delightful. My hygienist was very friendly and accommodating. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was my mouth was sore the rest of the day. While my hygienist was professional and efficient, she was rushed and I felt like there wasn't a gentle touch to the cleaning.
That said, it didn't help that my 3 year old had to attend the visit this time. The hygienist was very good at asking my son questions to keep him occupied. Perhaps next time will be different and less rushed without a 3 year old in the room. Cheers Costa! Another great experience.

Outstanding dental practice and they are right here in my own neighborhood! Besides the many amenities they offer, designed to make patients comfortable, the staff is top notch. Dr. Aleid and Susanna were thorough, patient, painless and very personable. So happy to have them as my new dentist and dental assistant! I would recommend them without hesitation!

I had a wonderful first visit with Dr. Bhangra and her Hygienist Stephanie. They were thorough, patient, and friendly. They answered all of my questions and were courteous the whole time going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I already had positive feelings toward the dentist but this topped my previous experiences by far. A beautiful facility as well.

My experience at Costa Dentistry far surpassed my expectations. I was petrified to say the least. Hannah treated me with kindness, patience, respect and a gentle touch. She treated me like I was all that mattered during our visit and I required lots of soothing! I went from completely frightened when I arrived to leaving calm and with a plan I'm actually excited about. Dr. Meyer was equally patient and respectful. If you are paralyzed by fear of the dentist, call Costa Dentistry.

I am new to the area and I have been very particular with my dental care after previous unpleasant experiences. Costa Dentistry went above and beyond my expectations in their professionalism, technology, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Kim and hygienist, Kathy were not only very knowledgeable but each took the extra time in thoroughly explaining my procedure without making me feel rushed or baffled. I am spreading the word of mouth that Costa Dentistry should be everyone's go to for dental hygiene. Thank you Costa Dentistry, for my exceptional care and experience!

I needed a dental practice that was willing to accommodate my severe anxiety and sensory sensitivities - most of the practices I found were pediatric only. Costa was the only one I have found in the area that was willing to so. I was incredibly nervous for my first appointment but the staff, hygienist and dentist were all understanding and accommodating. I really can't thank them enough for their patience and kindness.

Great practice from the moment you schedule the appointment to the moment you walk out with a dentistry gift bag. Hygienist Paola was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable; she explains every step of the cleaning and imaging; and is extremely friendly. She is amazing to work with work and has very deep knowledge of the hygienic and medical dental aspects. Dr. Jean Kim is very gracious and friendly as well.
She diagnosed a couple issues and addressed them with a solution. Highly recommend this practice and will of course go back. My wife and 2 boys are also patients at this practice. Thank you Costa staff, and best of luck Paola and see you in a few months!

Amazing experience! They were able to squeeze me in for an emergency visit due to pain, even as a new patient. The office was beautiful, the hygienist was very sweet and gentle and the Dr. Was great to work with, he took his time and was very helpful. Excited to be making this our new family dentist office.

This place is nearby and they did a mass advertising campaign, so I thought I'd try them. I went a handful of times but decided to switch dentists for three main reasons. 1- They include things not covered by insurance without asking you first. I was charged for fluoride but was not told there would be a fee. When I asked at the front desk, they said your plan has all that info.
As if I carry my plan around with me? Also funny, bc they were careful not to do x-rays bc they wouldn't be covered that time, so I assumed they were checking coverage as they added services. And I wasn't given an option, it was just like okay fluoride time. 2- They need some training about inclusive and respectful treatment of clients around gender.
I was called "Mrs" several times by multiple people. I am single. I was clear about that. Also, if we're being forma, it's Dr. Likewise a few of the hygienists I saw made insensitive comments about my not having children. (the most recent one I saw I really liked). Yes, it is a family area. No, not everyone here has a family. It is presumptuous to use titles people have not said are okay and it does not feel good to be put down for not having kids. If this was one person, I wouldn't worry about it but it happened in several of my interactions with different employees.

Went for consult with Dr. Stevens for some cosmetic dentistry and had impressions taken for crowns. Three weeks passed and did not hear a word from them as to next steps/appt/etc. Tried calling numerous times throughout the next week. Got their voicemail every time, followed by a text message indicating they received my call (yet nobody bothered to call me back).
Finally moved on to a new dentist and had beautiful new crowns within days of consult. Costa customer service is AWFUL! I wasted almost a month of my time.don't waste yours!

We just moved to this area and found costa who's really close to our new house. Reviews on google looks fantastic so decided to give them a try. I made regular cleaning appointment for both me and my husband. My appointment was earlier and my experience was ok. I didn't do the x-ray since I'm pregnant and I got the cleaning without an issue.
My hygienist recommended several products but I know most time it's their selling method so I passed them. My husband went for his appointment later and his hygienist refused to give him a regular cleaning and he was told that he need a deep cleaning. He has two choices: accept their deep cleaning plan or go home without any cleaning. My husband is a retired veteran and he can get any treatment for free from VA dental clinic if he really need it.
He just need a regular cleaning from a clinic near our house but they refused to offer it. Waste of time. I'm regret to check reviews on Yelp so late. I noticed that so many reviews mentioned about their "deep cleaning" trick. I will cancel my following appointment and they will lose us as further customers.

I would give two stars because dentist are amazing but front desk have no idea what they are doing. Couple years ago I had bad experience with Ashburn location but want to give it a try again, Since it was 2-3 years ago. NOPE! They are same. 2yeas ago, they over charged me and my insurance company have to contact with them and do all that stuff. Today I want to make sure my treatment plan is correct before my appointment.
Thank goddess Im so glad that I checked! 3day ago I went to dentistry for check up and whoever treated me she told me I need treatment and bring me a treatment plan and it was 500 out of pocket. So I told her my insurance should cover more and she said she will ask front desk to contact with insurance. And 3Days later I call and asked the front desk, where is my new treatment plan because they never contact me.
Anyway they sent me a treatment plan and they charged me triple more then first treatment! I canceled my appointment right away. Dentist are amazing but NoNo they will play with your money.

I've been going to Costa Family Dentist for almost nine years now! You'll be hard pressed to find a better communicator than Dr Costa or his staff! The Great Falls office has moved from the old location but only to the main level! The brand new office is gorgeous and Dr Costa made a significant investment in this new office and patient area! I'm treated with outstanding care for I use to have phobias regarding dentist and needing to feel comfortable!
From teeth whitening, crowns, cleaning and corrective measures such as Invisalign Dr Costa and his staff guided me through my anxiety and made me feel welcome and comfortable! Having a dental practice you fall in love with is hard and requires trust and confidence! Dr Costa new dental office is a commitment to what his patients expect and his attention to detail in providing excellent dental services!
In addition, the staff is amazing and caring and go above and beyond to make you feel like your family! The new office decor is simply amazing and well thought out in every detail and is a true testament of the commitment Dr Costa is willing to take to ensure his practice is the best practice! Each exam room is private in his new location, offering comfort accessories selections to make the experience relaxing! In addition, television screens and videos that allow a more relaxed experience! I highly recommend Dr Costa Great Falls location!

My family moved to the area approx 1 1/2 years ago. We started going to Costa Family dentistry because of the convenient location. Two of my children had appointments scheduled today for sealants and I received a call 1 1/2 hours prior to the appointment that they no longer take our insurance and we would have to pay out of pocket. We were just there 3 weeks ago for routine cleanings and they did not mention they were dropping our insurance.
I discussed with the office manager who informed me this change was made in August and basically said the insurance company was supposed to notify us. So no letter, phone call, or in person notification. They send out robocall reminders and COVID 19 forms to complete prior to appointments. They could have at the very LEAST notified us by robocall!
We are expected to give 24 hour notice before cancelling or be charged a cancellation fee. I expect the same courtesy from a practice. They also charged a COVID 19 fee for upgrades to their practice and cost of PPE when they reopened which I found disturbing but was willing to overlook at the time because I didn't want to find another dentist.
After reading some reviews and looking at my kids records from their previous dentist I'm now wondering if they even need the treatments recommended by this practice! Bottom line --overall the staff is friendly and the facilities are modern but if you look beneath the surface they don't really care about your family and doing the right thing. They just care about making money.

I started going to Dr. Browning 2 years ago. I was told I needed a deep cleaning and would have to come every 4 months to maintain. At one of the visits I asked about Invisalign, if I was a candidate etc. I was told my Dr. Browning I would be a great candidate and also should consider Propel which stimulates the bone so teeth can move faster. Proceeded to get Invisalign/Propel.
Fast forward, went for my cleaning this week, the hygienist said there was bone loss and I would have to see a Periodontist. She explained Invisalign/Propel was the cause. I asked for Dr. Browning, but she had left for the day. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed as I was not told this before getting Invisalign. I will not go back.

Very disappointing.this practice doesn't provide all the information and up charges. I was told I had to have a very specific in-depth cleaning. I felt a bit badgered into it but I did it. Went in for my next cleaning and got a bill for $350, for a cleaning. When I called to ask why it was so much the office replied due to the other procedure you had.
I was never informed that due to the one procedure everything else would now be effected. And none of this was covered on my insurance now. Such a disappointment- I was about to get Invisalign through them too. There a bit sneaky and not forthcoming.

Overall they are a nice and friendly place, but at the end of the day they seem to be more expensive and sale like then a normal dentist office including wanting more oral procedures. Pros - They are very friendly. The staff was nice and kind. The dentist was ok. - They were high tech and had a lot of cool technology which makes the experience enjoyable. (Netflix/movies).
Also allow the doctor to broadcast xrays and others. - They did a great job cleaning the teeth. Cons - Seems at times more of a sales person then a doctor office. They offer additional services such as oral cancer screening, florid and other services which I am forgetting. - The price is on the top of the price range. When comparing the quote with my insurance company and after I got a second opinion, the prices were a lot less (about 20-30% in most cases) per a the work requested - I feel they were trying to make a buck and are more willing to have you get an oral procedure that you don't need so that they can make money.
I took their quote and brought it in for a 2nd opinion from another dentist which my wife goes to and after seeing the xrays and performing an exam came back with a lot less work that needed to be done. Overall Conclusion: I feel like they were a friendly place but they were more into trying to make a sale then caring for me as a person. They make the experience of going to the dentist nice (I hate dentist) but they are on the top end of the price range and seem to want to make a sale rather then take care of my teeth.

Three stars are enough, yes modern dentistry and all but even with dental insurance the out of pocket still a lot. They fist try to make you see the hygienist regardless and 3 out of 5 I'm sure they will suggest the deep cleaning. On the other side, front desk customer service need a little more training and show some smile. Over all, if money not a big issue with you sure go ahead but if you want a better quote I suggest searching around first.

Very upset with this dental office and warn you to avoid it. it was in 2017 that I had an appointment with this dental office. Dr Neha was out that day and so another male doctor in their office saw me (most likely Dr Costa). I had previously received their cost estimate of the work they had to do on my tooth and it was supposed to be around $250 or less mainly covered by my insurance.
At the end of the session They gave me about $1000 bill! and because my insurance had reached the ceiling, I had to pay about $500 out of pocket! When I questioned, the dentist said while he was working on my tooth, he broke another tooth next to it and so he had to fix it! He also strongly recommended to put a crown on that broken tooth that he tried to fix and charge another $1000.
He said if I don't do the crown the tooth will break in a month or so at max. I got very upset and told the dentist the fact that he broke the tooth should not be my fault and should not be any charges. I also complained that their finance office told me before the visit that my charges for that day will be only about $250 or less, all covered by insurance, and I did not expect this new charges, why didn't tell me the new changes before doing the work!?
He had no response! he acted if he will release the charges. I left their office very upset that day and never returned. Later, we moved to Boston, MA and I went to a new dentist. A great Ethical dentist graduated from Harvard that I am now seeing for two years. He was shocked when I told him about the previous dentist telling me that I need a crown!
He said you definitely do not need a crown there and have no idea why the previous dentist recommended a crown!. 2 years has passed with no crown on that tooth and there has been no issue! since that visit, and for about 2 years by now, this dental office keeps sending me text messages, emails, phone calls and letter claiming about $500 charges from that day! now they started to threat me for passing their claim to a collecting agency. Unbelievable that they want the charges for a broken tooth caused by their own doctor! Avoid this office! go to another dentist! or you may get unnecessary crowns, and charges that they don't discuss with you before your visit!

Shady shady shady. I had an appointment for fillings, the day of the appointment, the office calls to tell me that the appointment was too late in the day and would need to be rescheduled. When I asked if the time of the appointment could be moved up, I was told no. If I were to call less than 12 hours prior, I would have been charged a cancellation fee.
When I expressed my concerns to the office manager about the lack of respect for my time, I was told that during the cancellation call, I was offered the opportunity to come in earlier in the day, by a mere 15 minutes to get the fillings done. Fortunately for me, they called to cancel while I was driving into work and the phone call was picked up by my dash camera. So they lie as well. No apology from the office manager when I emailed her the audio of the call. I'll go to a dentist that treats patients with respect.

I'm a new patient to his practice and so far my experience has been great! The office has great customer service and the welcome gift was a nice touch. The wait time both times I've been there has been longer than I've expected. The space is some what small. wish the exam rooms were more private (I could hear other patient's consults).

My experience at Costa Dental has been a disaster from Day one, beginning with my first appointment when I was assigned a dentist who was leaving the practice. The office was so cold I got a migraine. The dentist had a litany of things that needed to be fixed despite the fact that I see the dentist every 6 months and brush and floss my teeth twice a day.
The list was so lengthy and complicated, that I had to return to have all the work reviewed with another Dentist. On this appointment the Dentist was both rude and patronizing and even accused me of violating HIPPA laws by looking at their computer. Firstly, I was not looking at the computer which the hygienist confirmed and secondly if whatever was on their computer screen was so confidential then why is it left open for any patient to see?
It seems as though if anybody is violating HIPPA laws it is Costa. So my next appointment was for Glow Whitening which was recommended because I have a front veneer that needs to be replaced and that tooth would be matched to the color of my other teeth. I was told by the first doctor that I could expect my teeth to whiten 4-8 shades lighter in one office treatment and no pain sensitivity, the cost of which is $650.00.
There was in fact a tremendous amount of tooth sensitivity/pain during the procedure along with a burning sensation on my lips. Before I left I asked if there was any ointment they could recommend for the pain and they said no. On a pain scale of 1-10, the pain level was about a 10 during the procedure and about a 8-9 for the next 18 hours, but only because I was taking 2 Percocet every 4 hours.
After 18 hours I finally fell asleep at 8:00 am the following day. When I woke up early that afternoon, I immediately called the office and left a message on Costa's voicemail asking that someone please call me back because I was still in a lot of pain and my teeth were no whiter than before. No one bothered to call me back. On day 4, there is still no color difference between my front veneer which matched my teeth prior to the whitening and my other teeth after the whitening.
I have asked over a dozen people if they could find the one tooth that is "supposedly" darker than the rest and most said no and a few people identified a tooth other than my veneer, however not one person identified the veneer as being darker than my other teeth, so basically I threw $650.00 away and for that I only received pain. I could go on, but just suffice it to say I do not recommend Costa Dental.

Everyone who left less than a five is wild. Costa family dentistry is amazing, their staff is nice and fun, and don't make you feel self conscious like many other ashburn area dentists do. They really helped me out when I broke a tooth, and my original dentist put a cap on it instead of fixing it like she said she would. If you are looking for a new dentist, this is where you wanna go!

Dr. Costa and his entire team are excellent. I never have to wait more then 5 minutes. Costs are always explained prior to treatments. Look, we pretty much all hate going to the dentist but we have to go right? Costs & team always do their best to be gentle and as pain free as possible. I appreciate that. I recommend them to all my friends and their families.

Terrible. Don't go for adult dental care! The facility looks nice, front desk is helpful. But, if you are visiting this place for an annual/bi-annual check up they are going to tell you that you need a deep-cleaning and need to shell out an additional 300 to 500 USD in addition to what the insurance will cover. They did that for both me and my wife, which baffled me!
I consulted Dr. Courtney and she appeared to be not genuinely caring enough for her patients. Overall I was not only left unimpressed but am absolutely determined not to go there ever again for my dental care. Must say that we were pretty impressed with the Pediatric Dentist Dr. Jonathan Konz. He seemed to be very caring and was able to connect with my 5 year old daughter. So, if you are looking for pediatric dentist, Dr Konz is a good person to go to. However, for adults, if you are planning to visit for an annual/bi-annual visit, my sincere suggestion is to stay away!

Just had my first exam this afternoon and I actually walked out happy. The office is modern and clean, and everyone is friendly. And Anna is my favorite hygienist - she was very gentle which is a nice change since my teeth are tight and it hurts to floss. I don't normally leave reviews - or love a dentist - but I'm happy to recommend Costa!

Dr. Costa has always done what I feel is superior work. He is a bit of a perfectionist like me and always seems to go that extra mile. He is also big on preventative dental unlike some dentists who just like to "drill & fill" and see it as job security. His office staff are super friendly and always greet me by name. His facilities are spotless and I love the comfort menu they provide to make you feel ultra relaxed. I would recommend Costa Family Cosmetic Dentistry to anyone and everyone.

Have been a patient of Costa's for years. Have always ground him and his staff members to be professional, pleasant, and welcoming. Costa is also involved in local charities. My wife started coming to Costa a year ago and also appreciates him and his practice. The k my feedback I would give is to alert patients of extra charges that are not covered by insurance such as fluoride or cancer screening. Give the patients the choice to accept or decline with price disclosure would be good. Other than that, his practice is excellent!

I have been going to Dr Costa for about 10 years. He and his staff do a great job and the office is very state of the art and *clean*. He really cares about his patients and makes me feel welcome. I actually look forward to going toy dentist and people make fun of me for it. I don't feel like he tries to upsell me like my past dentists and I trust him through and through. Great practice!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Costa and the entire team during a Yelp event a few months ago. After several procrastination I finally grit my teeth and headed over for my routine cleanup. What an amazing experience! First off, I love how clean the entire office and clinic is. Everything is designed for the best dental experience--ever. From the cozy waiting room to optional Netflix, warm towel, pillow, and wifi at the dental chair, you'll forget that you're at a dentist and feel like being in a spa.
The doctors were all honest in their recommendation and were very clear with treatment suggestions. My hygienist was uh-mah-zeeng! She was thorough, gentle, and got even the most stubborn plaque out of my teeth (remember procrastination?) It's satisfying to be taken care of in such a modern, clean facility, complete with the latest technology in dental care, topped with superb customer service. I look forward to my next cleanup!

I have never met Dr. Costa but I went to his Great Falls office for 3 years. He seems to be a great marketer but runs a sub-par dental practice. I went in to get a cavity filled, they started by numbing the wrong side of my mouth. They then numbed the correct side but hit a nerve and sent my body into a spasm and shakes. I still shudder when I think about it.
They then filled in the cavity incorrectly and had to refill it.by that time the anesthesia was fading and I could feel there drilling for the remainder. A few weeks later I realized I had a gap in my teeth wide enough to fit a 12 oz ribeye. When I went to my new dentist, they said that the cavities were shoddy at best and would need to redo them. Hard to imagine a worse experience.

Stopped by today to pick up my whitening trays that were gifted to me as part of an event I previously attended. I was definitely greeted upon my arrival by the friendliest ladies at the front desk. After a minimal wait, I was introduced to my trays. I loved the fact that the dental hygienist had me sit down and actually put them in to make sure they were comfortable and fitted properly.
She even offered to adjust them if they felt a little off. No complaints here but this experience coupled with my previous visit are encouragement enough to not only come here but keep coming back.

I was provided the privilege to get a "behind the scenes" tour and meet the staff of Costa Family Dentistry. Wow. This group is as personable as it gets. I walked in, immediately greeted with a smile and I was welcomed by everyone. I was told about how the business started, etc. I was provided with a tour of the facility. Speaking of state of the art!
I would have never known about the place, assuming they work with children (there's a sign that says pediatrics), but nope, adults as well. In fact, they separate adults if you want to get away from kids. There are small chairs with Ipads up front for the kids, a room to relax you (if you have anesthesia, and around the corner, they have private rooms for the patients.
The best part of this place is they have a "comfort menu." You can choose between a blanket, pillow, ear phones, ipad or NETFLIX! They have small flat screen tvs above you. When I spoke to one of the nurses who was very approachable, I did let her know I didn't have a dentist, but this makes me thrilled to come to a dentist.

I agree with DcB, Chase C. Del S. He said I needed a crown or I would end up in the oral surgeons office. I agreed. My insurance would not pay because they said I did not need one and he doubled my very high bill. I complained to his manager and she said that I did not have to pay the rest. A year later he billed me for the extra with late fees. HE SEES MULTIPLE PATIENTS AT THE SAMETIME AND TALKS LOUDLY TELLING EVERYONE YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY (Hippa?) His manager has you sign a "treatment plan" which is actually a 'financial plan" when you are most vulnerable- he keeps you waiting when you have an appt. and doesn't care if you have to go to work. He is in my insurance network and says he accepts their fees but he doesn't, he wants a lot more.

Dr. Costa does several things I like, such as leaving a voicemail after appointments to followup. Nevertheless, the majority of interactions I have had with his practice have been negative. For example: 1) In 2015, I had 2 temporary and 1 permanent crowns placed by Costa's office fall out and was charged over $150 out of pocket to get them re cemented because I had maxed out of my insurance coverage for the year.
I didn't think it was fair that I was charged to get the crowns recemented, especially the permanent one since it shouldn't have fallen out in the first place. I protested but I was required to pay anyways. 2) My dental insurance changed last year. After this change, during my next visit to the dentist I asked if my new insurance was still covered, and I was told by the receptionists that it was.
What she didn't tell me was that it was now "out of network", so the co-pays would be much higher. I didn't learn this until the end of the year when I demanded more information why my dental bill for the year was so high ($4,000+). 3) Nothing irks me more than after paying for a dental procedure at the office and then getting an invoice in the mail several weeks later for another large outstanding balance. THIS HAPPENED EVERY TIME WITH DR. COSTA's OFFICE.
Not sure why this was the case, but it obscures the true costs of the procedures. If you are willing to pay any amount for your teeth, I recommend Dr. Costa's office. But if you are looking for a fair deal, I recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been using Dr. Shane Costa for years. His hygienists are very personable and always seem to remember you. The entire staff is very friendly for that matter. The lobby and the work areas are extremely clean. If I ever have an emergency issue they seem to get me in very quickly. Dr. Costa is a straight shooter and has a great calming demeanor about him.
He explains everything to you in great detail. He always puts trying to preserving my teeth ahead of everything else. I have had several crowns and several fillings done there and have always been more than pleased with the results. The crowns and filings are my own fault of course for poor oral care at home. He also referred me to an awesome orthodontist and some other top notch doctors as well. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing you at my next cleaning. Brian McCracken

I want to start off by saying that I hate going to the dentist. I put off going constantly. It had been about a year since I visited my old dentist from my time living in Maryland. With my upcoming wedding, my soon-to-be-wife, made it clear that I was not going to ruin the pictures with a smile that was less-than pearly white. So I did a little research and came across Dr. Costa.
My first trip to Dr. Costa's office was for a long overdue cleaning and check-up. The doctor and his staff were great. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. I was taken care of from the start. Even the usual overwhelming paperwork when becoming a new patient was easy and painless. The office space was modern and not at all what I am used to from past dentist and doctor offices that seem to not have been updated since the early 80s that I have experienced in the past. Abbey, the dental hygienist, gave me my teeth cleaning.
She was great. At first I was first self-conscious having an attractive woman look at my neglected teeth, however after only a couple minutes of small talk, she had me relaxed, and even enjoying the fact that a relative stranger had me in such a compromising position. After some X-rays of my now clean teeth, Dr. Costa came and inspected my mouth and teeth. Again, a relative stranger had me relaxed in a short time and his explanation of what he was seeing was very insightful.
By the end of my first visit, Dr. Costa and his staff had made my years of hate of the dentist disappear. My second visit was for a fitting for a Whitening Tray. I was in and out quickly and again experienced the friendly atmosphere I had felt the first visit. The trays ended up working great. My teeth have never looked better and my now wife did not have to beat me for ruining our wedding pictures. In fact, people that have known me for years were blown away how good my teeth looked.
