Dr. McGrath has been setting the highest standard of excellence in orthodontics for more than three decades! He earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary, and his dental degree, as well as his specialized post-graduate residency, from the Medical College of Virginia. Outside the office, Dr. McGrath has many special interests.
You probably know that it's never too late to begin orthodontic treatment - but when it comes to your youngster's teeth, did you know that earlier may be better than later? According to the American Association of Orthodontists, kids should have an initial orthodontic screening at age 7. There are several ways that kids can benefit from seeing an orthodontist at an early age. In most cases, if orthodontic work is needed, we simply monitor your child's growth patterns until we see that it's time for treatment to begin.
We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 30-minute visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. We know your time is valuable, so to expedite treatment, we may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records. The records include X-rays, photos and impressions for study models and are necessary for developing the appropriate treatment plan.

I just finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Kevin McGrath and the finished results are absolutely phenomenal. Right from the initial consultation Dr. McGrath and his team were informative, welcoming and walked me through the entire process. One of the many great things about getting my Invisalign treatment here was the convenience of having my appointments virtually.
I had a gap between my two front teeth and had a very deep overbite. My Invisalign treatment here corrected both issues and now I can be at ease knowing my teeth will last me a lifetime. The fee for Invisalign with Dr. McGrath was very reasonable and they offered me multiple flexible payment options that worked with my budget. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get any kind of orthodontic work done to come see Dr. McGrath and his team at Oakton Family Orthodontics. He is the best in his profession, experienced and just overall great at what he does.

Doctor McGrath and the whole team are amazing! He's very thorough in the first visit explaining his recommended treatment plan for our daughter. He addressed me and her, so she also understood what the plan was and she could ask questions. Everyone in the office is professional and nice. It's very easy to schedule appointments and they're very punctual.
The best part though are the results. AMAZING SMILE! My daughter's teeth were very crooked and she had a quite severe overbite. She wore braces for almost two years in both sets of teeth, and the results are terrific! I absolutely recommend them for any orthodontic treatment.

Best Orthodontist and Office staff Every! I live 45 miles away and did not mind the drive because of the amazing customer service I received. Starting from the front desk staff, the orthodontist assistants, and the BEST Orthodontist. The staff takes care of you and makes you feel welcomed. I LOVE my new smile!

Since a lot of other reviews cover how friendly and welcoming Dr. McGrath and his staff are (because they are awesome), I wanted to share some additional details about his practice that have pushed my experience over the top. Dr. McGrath and his entire staff have been excellent to work with and receive care from. On my first visit Dr. McGrath took the time to get to know me/understand my goals, answered my questions thoroughly, and shared his professional opinion on my desired care plan and the items I should reconsider with detailed explanation.
He is up front about the details, doesn't hide anything in the fine print, and isn't trying to push people through the steps before they are ready just to make as much money as possible. He has been in this business for years, is extremely knowledgeable about what works, and cares about doing things the right way to get the best result (regardless of his additional time and resources required).
In my opinion, his price and payment options were very reasonable; he knows this is an investment and tries to give people breaks where he can. I am extremely happy with my result, the care I have received, and the value I have gotten. The best part is I know I was set up with the tools to maintain it throughout the future. I would highly recommend Dr. McGrath and his practice to anyone. Multiple of my friends and family members have gone to his practice over the last 10 years (some as children and some as adults) and their track record hasn't changed.

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR ORTHODONTIC CARE FOR CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND ADULTS. *100* Stars for Oakton Family Orthodontics! Pictures are worth a thousand words. We started with Dr. McGrath in February 2018 (first 2 pictures). We finished in Nov. 2021 (last 3 pics). The detailed, phased approach designed for my son was not only affordable, but 100% on par with my son's growth (Ex. Losing baby teeth, palate expansion). You can't rush nature and Dr. McGrath's 40 years of experience reflects that in his plan of care. Exceptional Orthodontist. Outstanding Staff.

Awesome! Is the best word I can use. I am amazed at the results Dr. McGrath was able to achieve. I have never had straight teeth and now, late in life, my teeth are absolutely perfect. Age should not stop you from getting needed braces. Holly, the doctor's assistant was great leading me to look forward to every visit.

Dr. McGrath and his wonderful team treated my stepson and me with complete braces. And what marvellous results! Each staff member demonstrated sincere kindness, patience and empathy every step of the way. The entire office environment is pleasant and professional. As an adult, taking the leap into braces was quite a lot to take on but oh, so worth the time and effort!
It's amazing the way Dr. McGrath was able to widen the alignment of my teeth, creating space in a way I wouldn't have imagined possible. What amazing skills! This was a critical step toward his work with my dentist, Dr. Simeca, to add veneers to repair teeth that had been chipped for many years and add crowns where needed for reconstruction following removal of old silver fillings.
My only wish is that I had this work done much sooner! Thanks, Dr. McGrath and team, for every thing you've done to give me such a beautiful smile and renewed self-confidence that comes with a person being able to put their best 'face' forward.

Dr. McGrath has treated both of my children and done superb job. He corrected a severe underbite and my daughter, a very hard case, and her smile is beautiful today. We are grateful for his excellent care, gentle manner, good humor, and steadfast persistence to do the hard work of training stubborn teeth. It is a pleasure being in his office, and we are happy to have discovered his practice early in our family's dental history.

Dr. McGrath's office actually made my braces experience easy, and recommended equipment to speed the process along, cutting months off my treatment, in turn making my treatment cheaper than originally quoted. I wholeheartedly enjoyed going to this office and cannot speak positively enough about his staff who are always upbeat and friendly. The office environment is clean, bright, and appealing. I am an older-than-average braces wearer and would trust this office with treatment for my children without a second thought. Hands down, an amazing experience.
