Nobody really wants to go to the dentist but it is necessary. I like this dental office as they keep up-to-date on the equipment and everyone in there is really nice. It had been a while since I got my teeth cleaned and they did a really good job of that and also found a couple of cavities. I went back for follow-up appointments on the cavities and they were able to get them filled.
I have had no trouble with the fillings and the whole process was fairly painless. I always go by myself so they have to do the numbing with shots as nobody goes with me to drive me. So that part is a little painful but they do a topical numbing before they do the shots and it makes it much better. If you are looking for a dentist in the Greenfield area I recommend both Doctor Brian and Doctor Trent as both of them have worked on my teeth.

Couldn't give zero so they got a one. Called yesterday saying a filling came out they set appointment for today at 11:40. Waited 20 minutes after checking in then another 15 minutes in room finally received pictures of small problem area at gum line. Dr jr came in asked about pain told him wasn't any pain then he mentioned numbing and simple filling.
I said let's do it but dr walked out never saw him again then nurse starts talking about setting appointment for another day to replace filling. Can you believe they actually called me in just to take a look but planned on doing nothing. Since my insurance is a joke wonder how much this drive by visual pit stop is going to cost me! Kirkwood Dentistry did absolutely nothing but make money by doing nothing!

Pushed for a lot of what was possibly unnecessary care. I'm writing this review about 5 years after my visit (I think I visited in 2012 or 2013). When I visited, he pushed for multiple procedures that left me shocked at the quantity and potential price I could incur, so I sought a second opinion. I visited a different dentist (someone who came highly recommended) and she said I only needed 1 filling, which came to less than $100. That was 5 years ago. My teeth are fine and I haven't had any pain in the last 5 years. I'm glad I didn't go back to Dr. Kirkwood. I wouldn't let someone I hate come here.

If I could give a 0 I would have! The lady that answered was very nice and told me that since I found them on my insurance website that I wouldn't have a problem. I told her the name and she scheduled me. I get there and give them my card and they turn me away! So frustrating! Oh and they tell me that they could do this and that for $$$. Ok, if you told me you didn't take my insurance I could have been at an office that TOOK MY INSURANCE! Get on the same page!

At first this seemed like a nice place to go, until I had to keep going back and gradually realized they have no respect or patience If you don't just sit down and agree with what THEY want to do and not what you need. I was blamed for a filling breaking that Trent kirkwood did when I flossed after I had waited the correct amount of time, and no amount of explaining to him would make him understand or sympathize that I did everything right.
He also proceeded to tell me that he would not remove one of my teeth even though it had been refilled twice, and he and the assistant just kept pushing root canals. He gave me a cold sensitivity test I explained that I did not need, and he "fixed" my filling bite with a drill and no numbing after knowing how much pain I was already in. I wound up leaving with a suggestion for a night guard and told to come back in two weeks- when that wasn't what I was primarily in for.
They will not refer you to an oral surgeon what so ever, and won't credit your opinion without contradicting to make you feel inadequate and uninformed. Save your time and money and go somewhere that cares more about you than just billing your insurance and trying to pressure you into costly procedures. Definitely do not recommend this office to anyone.

I take my whole family here! From my youngest son to my oldest daughter, and my husband! We have all been so pleased with the entire staff from the front desk ladies to the dentist. My youngest didnt even feel when they gave him his shots. If you are looking for a GREAT dental experience for your entire family, I would definitely recommend you see them!

Would not recommend! Got a crown less than 2 years ago that fell out today, went to another dentist and he said what a horrible job was done. The post was to short, he used a metal post for a cosmetic crown. Needless to say i already paid $500 for the original crown and my insurance won't pay any for this new one because it hasn't been 5 years! So I get to pay $800 for a new crown! Be cautious!

I have been coming here over 20 years and I will not go anywhere else. Great staff! Always professional and helpful. I have never had a bad experience here. LouAnn is wonderful. She always makes me feel at ease. Dr. Kirkwood is a great dentist and always personable and professional. Would give A 10 star rating if possible.

Horrible experience for my daughter. Dr. Brian Kirkwood held a needle in front of my 8 year old and told her that if she didn't stop crying he would send her to a bad dentist. This was after he told her that he was going to send me and her father away. This was 5 years ago, and after reading more of the same experiences in his other reviews, I realize that is just who he is as a person.
It took my daughter years to recover from such an Awful experience. Still to this day my daughter (she is 12 now) cringes every single time we pass his office. He should not be allowed to work with children. Brian Kirkwood, you do not need to send me a private message telling me what works for one patient doesn't always work for another and some people just have bad days.
I work with patients every single day and I know what is right and what is wrong. You telling children that you are going to send their parent's away for crying - it is wrong and just beyond words. 5 years ago may seem like forever in your eyes, but for me I am still thankful every single day that you locked the door behind you so I couldn't get to you.

This is the review work that was done 20 years ago. I must say I am very thankful and glad several route canals teeth held the bridge that was installed all these years and just now needing replaced or something else done! I was a much younger man then and the work that was done by Dr. Kirkwood was critical to my smile and just wanted to say thank you for that work and let you know how long it lasted! God bless

This is a ridiculous business with nonsensical 'office policies.' Firstly, what medical related office has limited 'summer hours, ' making it nearly impossible to schedule an appointment or have your phone call returned? Do patients not need dental work during the summer? Do cavities take the season off as well? These 'limited summer hours' aren't listed on their website, so you are left to discover the inconvenience after visiting the office while following their 'regular' hours only to learn they are actually closed. Secondly, it is 'office policy' to have new patients fill out paperwork during a separate visit before they will allow you to be scheduled for your actual appointment.
This is inconvenient for many reasons, as most people are unable to abide by 'limited summer hours' unlike the employees of this practice. So, you must first come in simply to fill out paperwork, then you can schedule, and finally you are permitted an appointment. Information received over the phone wasn't accurate, as my mother was told she could sign and complete the paperwork for me.
After being reassured this was possible, and making time to stop by during their 'limited summer hours', my mother was then told this was actually impossible and I must be present and complete the paperwork myself. The trip itself was wasted, as that could've easily been cleared up over the phone. The paperwork is done electronically via iPod anyway, so why couldn't it be sent through email, instead of requiring new patients to inconveniently stop by to electronically sign their name (before even allowing them to schedule an appointment)?
It is as if this practice doesn't want patients at all. Why can't they allow new patients to fill the paperwork out while waiting in the lobby for their first appointment, like nearly every other medical practice? Why can't their employees successfully communicate these absurd 'office policies' over the telephone?

My step son is being seen for Orthodontic treatmemt. The staff is very up front and to the point. They explained everything to me and my child in a manner that he understood the risks if he didn't follow the directions. Dr. Kirkwood was great with my son offered rewards for doing what he was asked of. Showed him in a mirror the changes the the appliance he is wearing is making with his smile.
Front office was very upfront with cost and insurance break downs. Again I can't thank the Hygiene Staff and Dr. Kirkwoods staff for going out of there way to make sure we where happy and had a great experience through out his treatment. We would highly recommended this office.
