Endodontists are dentists who specialize in maintaining teeth through endodontic treatment -- procedures, involving the soft inner tissue of the teeth, called the pulp. The word "endodontic" comes from "endo" meaning inside and "odont" meaning tooth. Like many medical terms, it's Greek. All dentists are trained in diagnosis and endodontic treatment, however, some teeth can be especially difficult to diagnose and treat.
The fee for your endodontic treatment will be based on the extent of treatment. During your first visit we will discuss the probable number of visits, their length, and the fees involved. Endodontic fees usually range from $500 to $2,000 and it is our policy that your care is paid for at the time of treatment.
I had a root canal done here about a year ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I had continual pain in one tooth from getting a cavity filled at a local dentist office that did a terrible job. My new dentist referred me here and I got my root canal done that same day. I felt nothing during the entire procedure and it was honestly less painful than the cavity getting filled itself at my old dentist. You will be sore after the procedure but follow their recommended pain relief intake and you will be just fine.
We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, we will inject a small amount of anesthetic to gently numb a localized area of your mouth. For most patients, the feeling of numbness usually subsides after 2-3 hours. We also have an anesthetic reversal agent available for those patients who need to recover sensation even faster.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They got mei n right away for a root canal. They even called the day before to tell me my copay for the visit. Dr. Skane was very gentle. He explained everything and made sure I didn't feel any pain. One of the staff called me today, which is 2 days after the root canal, to see how I was doing!

Dr. Timothy is EXCELLENT! I was in need of my first root canal and had a ton of questions. Dr. Timothy answered every single question I had. He was so kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. After answering all of my questions, I was assured and felt confident that everything would go smoothly. And it did! I visited 2 x 10 years apart. The first time I went I remember thinking WOW root canals are not that bad. Really no pain at all. My second time 10 years later I had to get another because of a cracked tooth and again NO Pain. Dr. Skane is fantastic. His staff couldn't be nicer. He's great at explaining and makes you feel completely comfortable. Good central location downtown with easy parking.
