Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth. The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone.

I must agree with the prior review. El Norte Dental has to be the worst. They are very prejudice and didn't care about the severe nerve pain I was experiencing.

Probably the worst dental care I've gotten. Office checked insurance and gave me a document with what I would owe but not correctly and then charged me more for their mistake. They try very hard to upsell braces.

Worst dentist office we have went to. Gave me a handwritten letter of costs, took a crown off and didn't offer to put it back or offer a cleaning or anything. When calling for X-rays to be transferred over the person on the phone said she will do that. 30 minutes pass so I call and ask if they sent the email and time frame, the lady then said ma'am in a stern voice and said I'll have to you by the end of the business day and said she was busy and disconnected. Completely rude, there are plenty of dentists to choose from and word of mouth is everything.

Got a chipped tooth fixed here, then 3 weeks later all the material came off my tooth. The office said that it's fairly normal and to come back so they can fix it, needless to say I didn't go back, did not want them to mess it up even more.

Careful with this dental group They gave my mother a loose fitting denture payed by Medicare. We initially told them it's loose fitting, they then told us to come back as it may fit gradually. We made a follow up appt and complained that it was loose, they did nothing after the third follow up still complaining of loose fitting they then turned around saying we should pay $350 for re fitting.

My problem is that, why would you put a loose fitting denture and charged Medicare then turn around and charge your clients extra money for a re fitting, sounds like a sham! Wonder how often This happens here!?Veronica, the office assistance acts as if she knows the world, woman is clueless and will argue with her patients. Look on yelp!

The Escondido office has a doctor who is very rough with the treatment of her patients and hard to understand when you ask questions. When I explained to her I had sensitive teeth during a cleaning last year, she refused to use her pick and continued to use a machine telling me 'I'm just going to have to bear with it.' At my most recent cleaning I tried to explain to her how afraid I was to come back to get fillings done since she had botched the last one, my tooth never got numb.but again she continued while I was in pain.

I still have issues with that same filling getting caught on my floss and food getting stuck in there. Her solution to my problems after explaining that to her was 'valium' 'maybe I should take a valium before coming in'.I was stunned. I've never heard of such a thing. At the end of the cleaning, the hygienist came in to floss my teeth and let me tell you I've never been treated so roughly.

She jammed the floss so far down, blood was coming out of every tooth. I floss regularly so it's not like I have a problem with bleeding. When I asked her if she was supposed to be this rough on my gums she told me 'you're suppose to go as deep down as you can until you bleed, that's where all the bacteria is.the blood is releasing the bacteria.' I put up with this office and horrible dentist for some time before deciding to switch, this past visit after being told I had 5 new cavities to fill, it finally made me distrusting enough to leave. I went to a new dentist and funny enough he only saw 1 cavity. I do not have either names of the Dr/hygienist since they do not populate on the website.not sure why.

I'm surprised at the all the negative reviews! After reading some I was skeptical to take my mother there because of her insurance. To my surprise, we were greeted with friendly and professional staff! Miyuki at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming, Silvia the technician was warm and very gentle with my mom and the dentist was super friendly and knowledgeable.

My mom is a complicated case with multiple comorbidities which makes her high risk for bleeding and infection. Dr Prabhu, after examining my mom, requested a release from her doctor which Miyuki helped me complete and fax. Everyone was dressed in a clean and professional attire and all smiled as they walked by, something very comforting especially in a new office. I hope we get to go back and have Dr Prabhu and her amazing staff take care of our dental needs.

My family has been going to Dr Prabhu for many years now. Why, you may ask. Because we trust her! She tells you only what you need done and does an excellent job with whatever needs to be done. My son got his first job out of college in Arizona and saw a dentist there who told him that he needed two crowns and a possible root canal! My son has had cavities every once in a while growing up, but nothing like crowns and root canals! Needless to say, he will be making a trip home to see Dr. Prabhu.

My family chose this dentist due to its convenience next to the high school. Dr. Prabhu was quite possibly the worst dentist we had ever encountered. On one occasion, I needed a cavity filling. She injected the novocaine and told me it takes 5-10 minutes to work. She proceeded to see another patient, which took 20 minutes. She returned, attempted to start the filling but the novocaine had stopped working and I could feel every drill.

She then gave me another injection of novocaine. As if that wasn't enough to keep me away, I had to come back again because I had a small chip on my tooth due to grinding my teeth and my insurance didn't allow me to change my dentist fast enough. Instead of smoothing it out, Dr. Prabhu decided to take away a small portion of that tooth and replace it with a porcelain cover.

Two weeks later, it chipped again because I grind my teeth! At that point, I was able to go to another dentist who advised that the chip be smoothed out rather than have a porcelain cover and that I obtain a nightguard. Ever since then, I have not had any teeth problems except for the occasional need to replace an old nightguard! Lastly, Dr. Prabhu said my 10 year old brother had 4 cavities that needed to be filled.

My mother was doubtful because he already had almost all his teeth filled. She took him to another dentist who said he had none. These experiences about 10 years ago. I am SHOCKED that Dr. Prabhu is still in business and I am sorry that we did not pursue further action regarding fraudulent care because it sure sounds like Dr. Prabhu is still doing the same thing to patients now.

Had an appointment scheduled on Saturday, but received a phone call the day before the appointment questioning why I was scheduled on Saturday as they are closed that day. Obviously it was a secretary in your office who scheduled it, so why would you ask the customer that question? If you are willing to advertise Saturday availability, then you should honor that, as one of the reasons I chose this practice was convenience of the weekend appointments. Also, the secretary should not make the customer feel like they inconvenienced the office and question how it was even possible that the appointment was ever scheduled.

Why could I not have been told a week or more ago about this issue (versus the day before), or even be offered an apology and then promptly try to reschedule a time that best fits the customer's needs? I will be looking elsewhere for my dental needs, most likely returning to my previous dentist even though they are out of network. I would recommend the staff take a course on customer satisfaction and phone etiquette otherwise this dental practice will continue to lose clientele. -Melissa M.

As a dental hygienist myself, I can really appreciate Dr. Prabhu's work, cleanliness of the office, and overall honesty. I took my dad to visit this practice to repair a restoration on a overdenture. She took her time, did very meticulous work, and at a reasonable price. We definitely will be staying with Dr. Prabhu and will be referring family and friends.

I wish there was a Zero star or negative option. Run away. Fast. This dental practice is a sadistic insurance scam. They use brutal deep cleanings, add false charges, and in general operate in a severe state of malevolent incompetence.

Visit #1. They wanted to take more x-rays even after I had my new xrays tranferred from my old dentist. Visit #2. When they were cleaning my teeth it was very painful, and finally I asked them to not use the power tool to clean them and to do it by hand. They indicated that I must have senstive teeth and i said "no this is the first time this has ever happened".

They had a new person there and in my opinon very inexperienced. Note. one week after the cleaning I discovered a massive cavity. Hmm I would think they would have found this during the cleaning right? Visit #3. They tried to upsell me on a few things, oh you know like gum replacement, veneers, .etc. I do not need these things. By the way they tried to suggest the upsell on my kids teeth as well. There will not be a visit #4.

I had the same experience. After being told that my insurance would pay for my filling, I was told that the insurance didn't cover the type of polymer that they used and that I owed another $350. They coerced me into "their deal" and charged me another $199.00 It seems to me that I should have been informed prior to the work being done. And, my filling was not done correctly and hurts. I intend to see my dentist in San Jose to have it fixed.

Worst clinic and Dr. She owns the clinic and total rip-off. She always find to make you pay for un-necessary and not covered treatment. Regardless of that she is not professional and her dental hygiene staff is very cheap and unprofessional. We literally suffered for weeks after getting hygiene treatment at her clinic.

I saw Dr. Prabhu in her crummy Escondido office. I'm not sure what the obsession is with deep cleaning these days and re-filling "broken" cavities, I managed to escape with just the cleaning my insurance was supposed to cover (though for some reason I ended up paying $65 anyway.) I should have known my husband's numerous deep cleanings were unnecessary and steered clear, but my dentist retired and I just didn't want the hassle of finding a new one. We're both looking for a new dentist who isn't into insurance billing sham work!
